Cast Up A Highway

Precious Gift

1 Thessalonians 5:4-10 (AMPC)

4 But you are not in [given up to the power of] darkness, brethren,

for that day to overtake you by surprise like a thief.

5 For you are all sons and daughters of light and sons of the day;

we do not belong either to the night or to darkness.

6 Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, . . .

8 But we belong to the day;

therefore, let us be sober and put on the breastplate (corslet)

of faith and love and for a helmet the hope of salvation.

9 For God has not appointed us to [incur His] wrath

[He did not select us to condemn us], but

[that we might] obtain [His] salvation

through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)

10 Who died for us

so that whether we are still alive or are dead

[at Christ’s appearing], we might live together with Him and share His life.

As Jesus followers we are children of the light, we see truth. We follow what Jesus, the Son of God taught. We accept His enormous gift to us; He sacrificed His life in an ignominious death of excruciating pain and suffering on the cross to pay off our sin debt, so that we may live a life full and victorious in Him; now our death is a mere passing through a door into an eternity in heaven with Him. This is the light that illuminates our path in life. What a precious gift!!

When we accept the gift Jesus offers, our sins are cleansed away, no matter how big or bad they were. In accepting Jesus gift, His love causes us to repent of our wrongdoings and move on to living our life with Christ as our Lord. He will send us the Holy Spirit to indwell us as our coach, mentor, counselor, comforter, guide to lead us through each level of our days. Living with Him is a challenging and rewarding time.

You see, God knows us intimately just what we need, just who we are, and He accepts us for who we are. He gently leads us through each day helping us to grow into our full potential.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 (AMP)

and to [look forward and confidently]

wait for [the coming of]

His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus,

who [personally] rescues us from the coming wrath

[and draws us to Himself,

granting us all the privileges and rewards of a new life with Him].

Going through life with God accepting His truth, accepting His Son, humbly submitting to His commands, brings joy into our days and death will hold no fear, because we know with certainty that Jesus conquered death, and we will pass through death’s door right into Jesus arms; eternity with Him is assured. Dear ones, hear me now! None of us know the timing for our own demise, so the best way to live is in truth. Jesus is our Savior and accepting Him and living with Him as Lord of our life will bring the peace of assurance that we will live eternally in joy with God.

1 Corinthians 15:54-58 (MSG)

Death swallowed by triumphant Life!

Who got the last word, oh, Death?

Oh, Death, who’s afraid of you now?

It was sin that made death so frightening

and law-code guilt that gave sin its leverage,

its destructive power.

But now in a single victorious stroke of Life,

all three—sin, guilt, death—are gone,

the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God!

58 With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends,

stand your ground. And don’t hold back. . .

God loves us so much! He created us so we might live and grow to love Him too. He has done everything necessary for that to be reality. Paradise was created for us until Adam betrayed God’s love choosing to believe satan instead. God fixed it by sending Jesus, as God-man. to redeem us. We can now move forward in building a beautiful relationship with God Himself. Accept this precious gift! Choose life not death! It’s there waiting for us all!!

Just tell Jesus you want Him to be Lord of your life and ask Him to come into your heart now.

                                        AWESOME GOD

Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.

Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.

Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

  • Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.

Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US  S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!

Psalm 91:14 (AMP)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)

Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!

Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:

Psalm 139:1-10

O Lord, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

4 You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, Lord.

5 You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

You are always with me.

You will guide me.

You will always be my support. Your strength

upholds me, protects me, supports me.

Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
