Cast Up A Highway

Precious Holy Spirit

Posted on May 9, 2018 at 7:40 AM

"Spirit." This world is into the “new age” look at spirit and spirit life. The enemy likes to take truth and pervert it. The Bible teaches that God is Spirit and we must communicate with Him spirit to Spirit. This Spirit is special and Is the third person of the Trinity; but we may not fully comprehend how our God is three-in-one. However,  we recognize that we were made in His image, and we are spirit, soul and body. Our Creator God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. When we die our body decays, but we live on with our soul (mind, will, and emotions) and our spirit. (We will receive a new perfect body). This is what survives into eternity. So lets turn our minds to the Holy Spirit Who communicates and Who will indwell us if we invite Him.

In past blogs we’ve talked about Father God and about Jesus. Now lets learn about Holy Spirit as written in the Bible ~ first in the Old Testament:

Isaiah 63:11 (AMPC)

Then His people [seriously] remembered the days of old, of Moses and his people [and they said], Where is He Who brought [our fathers] up out of the [Red] Sea, with [Moses and the other] shepherds of His flock? Where is He Who put His Holy Spirit within their midst,

And of course, the New Testament also speaks of Holy Spirit:

1 Corinthians 2:10-13 (New Life Version)

God has shown these things to us through His Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit Who looks into all things, even the secrets of God, and shows them to us.

11 Who can know the things about a man, except a man’s own spirit that is in him? It is the same with God. Who can understand Him except the Holy Spirit?

12 We have not received the spirit of the world. God has given us His Holy Spirit that we may know about the things given to us by Him.

13 We speak about these things also. We do not use words of man’s wisdom. We use words given to us by the Holy Spirit. We use these words to tell what the Holy Spirit wants to say to those who put their trust in Him.

Think of it; tis an amazing concept~ the Almighty God who created the universe actually makes His home in us. He lives in us. Yes we see in Scripture Holy Spirit inhabits us when we choose to honor and obey our God:

Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLV)

19 Do you not know that your body is a house of God where the Holy Spirit lives? God gave you His Holy Spirit. Now you belong to God. You do not belong to yourselves. 20 God bought you with a great price. So honor God with your body. You belong to Him.

More New Testament. We are God's~

2 Corinthians 1:22 [He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise].

Ephesians 1:13 (NLV) The truth is the Good News. When you heard the truth, you put your trust in Christ. Then God marked you by giving you His Holy Spirit as a promise.

Ephesians 4:30 (MSG) Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted.

1 John 4:13 (NLV) He has given us His Spirit.                                                                                This is how we live by His help and He lives in us.

Now we can see the Word teaches us about the Holy Spirit. He is God and He lives in us when we choose to serve God. He is indwelling us and thus our bodies become a temple of the Holy Spirit. So we must take care of our bodies and live righteously in them. As. . .

1 John 4:13 says, we have God’s Spirit in us, and because of this He helps us live a righteous life.

Searching more deeply into this gift of God, because Holy Spirit indwells us He is the most intimate part of our God relationship. We honor Holy Spirit, and must never take Him for granted  ........t

We love and honor Holy Spirit for who He is ~ God Himself, part of the Three-in-One. He is how God is truly in each one of us who choose Him. Living in us enables Him to help us live righteous, powerful, victorious lives! Almighty God in us! WOW!

Have you chosen to accept Jesus as Savior and thus receive Holy Spirit into your life? If not, there is no better time than now! Begin enjoying a life filled with God Himself!

                                        AWESOME GOD

Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.

Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.

Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

  • Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.

Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US  S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!

Psalm 91:14 (AMP)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)

Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!

Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:

Psalm 139:1-10

O Lord, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

4 You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, Lord.

5 You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

You are always with me.

You will guide me.

You will always be my support. Your strength

upholds me, protects me, supports me.

Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
