Cast Up A Highway

Have you stood and watched an eagle soar? Does it lift up your spirit with its beauty and strength? God often uses His creation to teach us, and one of His favorite is the eagle. These two Psalms are some of my favorites. We know the eagle is strong; when storms come it just flies above the clouds. When it hunts, its mighty wings carry it with speed and accuracy. David, the composer, spent much time outside as he tended his father’s sheep. He wrote this song and I’ll quote a few verses:

Psalm 103

Of David.

1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all His benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
, and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
,  so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Then another one I really like a lot:

Isaiah 40:31

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

My majestic eagle is not afraid of storms; it just flies above them. When its beak gets dull and its feathers make noise as it zooms down after prey, it goes to the mountains, to the high places, plucks out the old feathers and waits for the new, it sharpens its beak on the rocks and is renewed and refreshed. It is made new!

Our loving Father calls us ~ Come up to Me, and I shall renew you. I shall refresh you in the fountain of My Word. Come, spend time with Me to develop a deeper rapport.  Plumb the depths of your soul and bring your hidden thoughts and concerns to Me. I will hear and help you work out in every situation that holds you back from compete freedom in Me.

Isaiah 50:10 (Amplified Bible) Who is among you who [reverently] fears the Lord, who obeys the voice of His Servant, yet who walks in darkness and deep trouble and has no shining splendor [in his heart]? Let him rely on, trust in, and be confident in the name of the Lord, and let him lean upon and be supported by his God.

Ephesians 2:4-6 (TPT) 4 But God still loved us with such great love. He is so rich in compassion and mercy. 5 Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, He united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace! 6 He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with Him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are now co-seated[a] as one with Christ!

Ephesians 2:6 To be “placed” or “seated” in heaven means we have been given the perfection and authority to be there.

God lavishes His love upon us! It’s full and complete love without reserve. He so wants everyone to know Him and see the truth, that He sent His Son Jesus to redeem us. We are born as children of Adam, the betrayer. His seed was passed down to all generations; the deceiver, satan, made sure of that.

Jesus in His love chose to pay the great price for our redemption; when we accept His gift and choose to make Him Lord of our life, our sin nature is totally cleansed, deleted, and we become true children of God with His nature. Our relationship with our God can now be deep and intimate! We can know Him and the love flows between us in a real stream of affection and sharing as Father and His beloved child.

Packers' wide receiver describes his faith journey:

ARLINGTON, TX - Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings says he tried to live without God's help, "but it didn't work."

As his team prepared for today's Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jennings told reporters that his father is a pastor, so he was brought up in the faith, but drifted away. "I had tried to do it on my own and it didn't work, and so I had to try something new," he said. "God is the right way -- that's pretty much what everyone needs to know."

When he finally came "face to face with God," Jennings said he remembered that "to whom much is given much is required."

Jennings said his favorite Bible quote is from 1 Corinthians, where it says "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man what God has for those who love him." He added: "You don't recognize what God has for you until you get into the spiritual realm."

Our response to God's love. . .

Ephesians 4:2-6 The Passion Translation (TPT)

2 With tender humility and quiet patience, always demonstrate gentleness and generous[a] love toward one another, especially toward those who may try your patience. 3 Be faithful to guard the sweet harmony of the Holy Spirit among you in the bonds of peace, 4 being one body and one spirit, as you were all called into the same glorious hope of divine destiny.

5 For the Lord God is one, and so are we, for we share in one faith, one baptism, and one Father. 6 And He is the perfect Father who leads us all, works through us all, and lives in us all!

My friends, in these times of disruption and confusion, remember all these times were no surprise to God, and He still has a plan for you, and that plan has not been disrupted. Renew your relationship with the Lord, or if you do not have one yet, seek Him out. He loves you and will accept you just as you are! Fear not, His love is far stronger than any human love. He will receive Your heart and connect with you.

                                        AWESOME GOD

Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.

Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.

Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

  • Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.

Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US  S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!

Psalm 91:14 (AMP)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)

Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!

Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:

Psalm 139:1-10

O Lord, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

4 You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, Lord.

5 You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

You are always with me.

You will guide me.

You will always be my support. Your strength

upholds me, protects me, supports me.

Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
