Are you facing a problem? Our amazing God loves us so much, He wants to help us live our life and solve our ptoblems. God actually gave us an Owners Manual on how to get the most out of life. It’s called the Bible. and God’s Word is so good! It is for teaching and inspiring. Not only that, but when we accept Jesus gift of salvation we also are given the Holy Spirit to live in us as a Guide, Teacher, Mentor, Protector, Comforter.
Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, Third Person of the Godhead. It’s a little difficult to understand. But many things are 3 in one: an egg: shell, egg white, and the yolk. Water is liquid, gas (steam), and solid (snow or ice.) Humans have a body, a soul, and a spirit. Anyway, our God loves us each uniquely. Yes, He loves all His kids, but because He loves us all does not mean that one makes up for another. He does not want to lose any of us, for we are each special to Him. His Spirit indwells us when we accept Jesus as His Son and our Savior.
When we face situations in life, we can take them to God and He is right there to help us to fix them, and the Bible is filled with His personal Word to us on how to do that. With Holy Spirit as our guide, He will lead us right to where the correct Scripture is. Let’s look at the first five verses of the Hebrew 12 Scripture.
Hebrews 12:1-5 (TPT) The Great Cloud of Witnesses
1.As for us, we have all of these great witnesses[a] who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us[b] and the sin we so easily fall into.[c] Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race[d] with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.[e]
Verses can be understood more deeply from the [Footnotes] So what does this verse mean? Let's chck out the Footnotes for these verses.
So we must “let go of every wound that has pierced us [b] and the sin we so easily fall into”. Hebrews 12:1 Or “get rid of every arrow tip in us.” The implication is carrying an arrow tip inside a wound~ that weighs us down and keeps us from running our race with freedom.
“and the sin we so easily fall into”: Hebrews 12:1 Or “the sin that so cleverly entangles us.” The Aramaic can be translated “the sin that is ready [and waiting] for us.” If this is speaking of one sin, the context would point to the sin of unbelief and doubting God’s promises.
“Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race [d] with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.” [e]
Or “obstacle course.” The Greek word agona means agony or conflict. The assumption is this race will not be easy, but the proper path to run has been set before us. The Aramaic can be translated:
“the race [personally] appointed to us” God has a destiny for each of us that we are to give ourselves fully to reach.
2 We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection.[f] His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be His,[g] He endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation,[h] and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!
Verse 2: We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection
Or “He is the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”
His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be His, He endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, This was the joy of our salvation. He placed before His eyes the bliss we would forever share together with Him, which empowered Him to go through His agony, The Greek is “thinking nothing of its shame.”
and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God! He is now
3 So consider carefully how Jesus faced such intense opposition from sinners who opposed their own souls,[i] so that you won’t become worn down and cave in under life’s pressures. Or “those who were their own stumbling block.” As translated from the Aramaic. Refuse to belief.
4 After all, you have not yet reached the point of sweating blood[j]
Or “resisting until blood. Dreading the future so strongly as Jesus did that He sweat great drops of blood contemplating the cross.
“in your opposition to sin." translated “Don’t let your soul tremble [with dread] when your loyalty strays from Him.”
5 And have you forgotten his encouraging words spoken to you as his children? He said,
“My child, don’t underestimate the value of the discipline and training of the Lord God, or get depressed when he has to correct you.[k]
My friends, by meditating on each verse, we can gain understanding and apply verses to our own life. This was just an example of a way to study the Bible.
Take time to ask Holy Spirit to be your guide and follow His lead. Spend time with Him as you set an appointment each day to spend with our Lord; make it an important comittment.
Enjoy, my friends!
