Colossians 3:1-4 (The Message)
So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that's where the action is. See things from His perspective. Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God. He is your life. When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you'll show up, too—the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ.
He does not want some of me. . . what I choose to give up to Him. . . He wants ALL of me. That sacrifice of my body is giving all of me to Him. THAT “ME” WAS INDEED CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST. and WHEN HE AROSE, I AROSE WITH HIM ~ IN ME.
MY EGO IS NO LONGER CENTRAL. MY LIFE IS NOT MINE. Holy Spirit, come take over my life totally. That is what You want; that is what I choose to give.
Holy Spirit is quietly speaking to me ~ I have not come just to give you blessingl. You will find all that you need in Jesus. I have come to teach you how to do your part in saving a lost world.
OK. Please do put my ego, my will to the cross, so it is YOU who directs all I say, do and believe. My ego must die so You can fully live in me. Your will be done, not mine. I choose this.
Help me HOLY SPIRIT. Without You this would not be possible. I give You permission to . . . do what? I will not make this decision blindly, ignorantly, without understanding of what is called upon. But I can make a decision based on trust in You. If You keep me in Your truth, I choose to submit my self totally to You. I give You permission to do Your will in me. I require Your grace. I trust You will provide it. AMEN
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is true worship.
The spiritual battles we fight are against our enemy satan and his hoard. With our Holy God indwelling us, we have the victory within us. How do we use His strength and power? What else does the believer do to take his stand against satan? The Bible says we are to stand fast in the Lord. What does that mean? The command is found in
Finally, my brethren, be STRONG IN THE LORD, and [be strong] IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT
Taking our stand against satan includes trusting in the Lord to be with us as we take our rightful position in Christ. Did you notice in Ephesians 6:10 that the Bible says we are to be strong in two areas:
Be strong IN THE LORD, and
Be strong IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT.
To be strong in the Lord, you'll have to be strong in His Word. But what is the power of God's might? The power of God's might is the Holy Spirit. We ask You Holy Spirit be the power that leads our life. If we search the New Testament we can notice how many times "power" is mentioned in connection with the Holy Spirit. Some of these verses are listed below~
Acts 10:38 (Amp) How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.
You won't be able to be strong in the power of God's might without being filled with the Holy Spirit and without praying. Part of taking a victorious stand against the devil is to be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit. You won't be able to stand strong against the devil as an empty vessel.
Romans 15:13 (The Message) And Isaiah's word: There's the root of our ancestor Jesse, breaking through the earth and growing tree tall, Tall enough for everyone everywhere to see and take hope! Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!
Romans 15:13 (Amp) May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.
Romans 15:19 (Amp) [Even as my preaching has been accompanied] with the power of signs and wonders, [and all of it] by the power of the Holy Spirit. [The result is] that starting from Jerusalem and as far round as Illyricum, I have fully preached the Gospel [faithfully executing, accomplishing, carrying out to the full the good news] of Christ (the Messiah) in its entirety
The Bible tells us how to be victorious in life. Any problem we face can be solved by our Almighty God. There is nohing good that He cannot do, but remember He is not Santa Clause to give us our every desire. Seek true relationship with Him, and know Him and His character, then watch how He will help you in any storm. Jesus will send Holy Spirit to indwell you and lend you His strength to fight every battle. His power will enable you.
