Cast Up A Highway

15 Years Later

Posted on September 16, 2016 at 7:50 AM

September 11, 2016. Fifteen years ago today, the enemy struck a blow at our country. It was a tragedy where thousands lost their lives; it was a strike at the heart of America.

Yet it was also a time when many heroes of our land were born. The first responders, the firefighters fearlessly entered the burning buildings to rescue people; many also lost their own lives doing it. These and many others who selflessly entered the structures, and helped dig people out of the rubble also lost their lives. We will never forget them and we will honor them always.

This early morning 9/11/16 I look out my window at a soft pink cloud in a blue sky, it's like God is giving comfort to His people.

That in itself is remarkable, because in September 2001 there was a seeming unity where even our government officials stood together in prayer. People knew only God could heal us.

Unfortunately, since then our government has been set on getting rid of God in America. They say “separation of church and state” (which is not in our constitution at all), means Christianity cannot be involved in even the smallest way in anything that has to do with government. Worship of Christ must be kept in the church, not in anything that touches on government~ no prayer in public schools, no ten commandments posted, no mention of Jesus or Christ, no Bibles on a desk of a teacher, no crosses in veteran’s cemeteries, it goes on. . . Their intent is to erase God from our society.

How merciful You are, Oh God! You don't erase us, rather You continue to love us and desire each of us to know You, so all can enjoy the life of true freedom. True freedom is living in the kingdom of Jesus and being His emissary in the world. For in Jesus Kingdom love is prevails; we have a purpose with eternal consequences and rewards.

Joy comes like a gentle pink sunrise bringing a smile and feelings of peace. Difficulties and challenges are faced with supernatural help, and when needed, loving comfort covers like a warm blanket on a cold day.

God knows we are imperfect and He does not expect us to be otherwise. But He does encourage us to continue to grow in our knowledge of Him and His ways.

I received some vegetables from a kind neighbor the other day. Among them were a few tomatoes. These poor babies were scarred by bugs or something and did not look very pleasant. However when I excised their disfigurement and cut up the red juicy meat, I found them to be delicious.

We come to Jesus with all our blemishes and defacement; He welcomes us warmly! As we grow in relationship with God, we find our scars will be gently excised, and our fruit will be sweet. God knows us so well and that the journey toward “perfection” will have love leading the way.

Can a war torn heart ever be ‘perfect’? With God all things are possible. If war has eaten a chunk out of your heart leaving pits and pock marks behind, devil attacks of nightmares, deep anger, and pain hiding in the night of your soul, know that there is healing in Jesus. He love us so much, He bore the bloody stripes on His back, the bruises of beatings, holes from thorns in His head, nails driven through hands and feet then hanging on a cross, and worst of all~ total separation from His Father when all the sin of the world came on Him. He knows suffering and the feelings of abandonment, betrayal and tears of His mother and other loved ones.

Yet Jesus forgave all His persecutors. Even when close to death in excruciating pain on the cross He told the “good thief” that He would be with Him in paradise~

Luke 23:39-43 (AMP)

39 One of the criminals who had been hanged [on a cross beside Him] kept hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us [from death]!”

40 But the other one rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 We are suffering justly, because we are getting what we deserve for what we have done; but this Man has done nothing wrong.”

42 And he was saying, “Jesus, [please] remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” 43 Jesus said to him, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Jesus' death was the payment for the sin of the world~ that’s for you and me. He paid the price for our restoration to the original condition in which He created us~ we even receive God's DNA when we accept Jesus' gift. Did you know that healing is also a part of the promise? "By His stripes we were healed."

In Cast Up A Highway I talk about a cancer journey where joy reigned. When You know the Creator of the Universe on an intimate level, nothing is impossible for you. Seek His face not His hand. Spend time with Him daily talking and listening, allowing Holy Spirit to bring His Rhema Word to your understanding. The Bible is rich with His Word when Holy Spirit opens your understanding to it. He is so good!

If you don’t know Jesus as Lord of your heart, invite Him in. When He is the King whom you serve, a whole new world is unfurled before you. My friends allow His light to reach every hidden dark corner within. Find a freedom you have never before known! Discover true joy.

                                        AWESOME GOD

Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.

Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.

Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

  • Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.

Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US  S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!

Psalm 91:14 (AMP)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)

Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!

Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:

Psalm 139:1-10

O Lord, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

4 You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, Lord.

5 You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

You are always with me.

You will guide me.

You will always be my support. Your strength

upholds me, protects me, supports me.

Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
