Cast Up A Highway

Beauty of Intimacy

Posted on June 8, 2016 at 6:05 AM

Good morning Holy Lord! Thank You for the sunshine that warms our earth, gives us light, and supplies vitamin D as well. You planned everything perfectly. You are an amazing God. Thank You for loving us so well! Thank You for Your indwelling presence! How is it that You chose to first offer Yourself in sacrifice for us human beings, and then to offer Your Presence to live inside of us and be a personal mentor and guide, to comfort us in sorrow, lift us up when we get discouraged, and warm us with Your protection and care?

This morning I am overwhelmed by Your tremendous love, and because You are so great and mighty, it’s hard to comprehend Your deep affection for us. However, I am accepting of Your marvelous gifts because I know You, trust You and love You. You have shown Yourself to me, introduced Yourself and helped to build an intimate relationship between us. How can words describe our relationship? We speak together all the time, and I can tell You my innermost thoughts and feelings. You respond always in a loving way.

To be so close to You, my God, and experience Your love for me is extraordinary! I want to share it with others, but they sometimes are too jaded in their thinking to accept that a mighty God would even desire an intimate relationship with His creation; wherein reality, it was the whole purpose for our creation that there would develop an intimate bond between us. Your heart's desire is to love us, be good to us, and have us love You in return.

Ephesians 1:17-19 (NKJV)

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,

may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened;

that you may know what is the hope of His calling,

what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe,

according to the working of His mighty power

Holy Spirit, I thank You for showing me Your love; Jesus died for my sin. I have repented of them, and my Father has forgiven and forgotten them. Now when I come before my God, I’m washed clean and dressed beautifully for the occasion, as it were. But the incredible part is that there is no special occasion, it is just being with Him whenever and all the time. He loves me as His beloved daughter and treats me with that specialness and caring always. He lifts me up.

My friends, do you know our God and the depth of love He has for you? Do you trust in His faithfulness? If not it is time for you to ask Him to open the eyes of your understanding. Or if you have a loved one who does not know how much God loves them, a good prayer I know is Ephesians 3:

Ephesians 3:17-19 AMPC

May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell

(settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts!

May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,

That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp

with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love]

what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];

[That you may really come] to know

[practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ,

which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience];

that you may be filled [through all your being]

unto all the fullness of God

[may have the richest measure of the divine Presence,

and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

Yes my friends, I desire that you have a practical experience of Christ's love and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself. It is such a wonderful gift! He loves us so much!

Enter in and enjoy!

                                        AWESOME GOD

Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.

Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.

Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

  • Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.

Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US  S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!

Psalm 91:14 (AMP)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)

Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!

Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:

Psalm 139:1-10

O Lord, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

4 You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, Lord.

5 You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

You are always with me.

You will guide me.

You will always be my support. Your strength

upholds me, protects me, supports me.

Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
