Cast Up A Highway

Light Exposes What's Hidden in Darkness

Posted on March 9, 2016 at 6:20 AM

Have you noticed that in watching a film, if the characters are walking alone down a street in the dark, we are just waiting for something bad to happen. . . the escaped jaguar is sitting on a tree limb waiting to attack, the people who want to assault them are hiding behind a bush, robbers are creeping up to a house to rob or do other evil work. Seems the darkness is good for hiding and evil loves to do its work in darkness.

The Word speaks of darkness too:

John 3:19-21

This is the judgment [that is, the cause for indictment,

the test by which people are judged, the basis for the sentence]:

the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness

rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

20 For every wrongdoer hates the Light,

and does not come to the Light

[but shrinks from it] for fear that his

[sinful, worthless] activities will be exposed and condemned.

21 But whoever practices truth [and does what is right—

morally, ethically, spiritually] comes to the Light,

so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are

—accomplished in God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help,

in dependence on Him].”

Jesus, Who is the Light, gave up His heavenly home to be born upon this earth as a man. This sacrifice was made out of the greatness of love! He came because first man, Adam, had chosen to disregard God’s instructions and listened to satan instead. This treasonous act condemned all men to be born with a sin nature unable to come close to God who is all good. It would be like bringing paper near to fire~the paper is burned up.

Jesus came to bring a cleansing of man’s nature, a redeeming alteration to mankind. When we admit our sinfulness and choose to accept Jesus sacrifice on the cross as His gift of redemption, and we choose to make Jesus (rather than satan) the Lord of our lives, we are totally transformed into God’s children with His DNA. And the redemption is continual (If we err and sin, but then repent, that sin is automatically cleansed away).

Jesus put a light on the world that exposes evil. In these last days we can see evil expanding trying to hide in the darkness of deception and lies. It is working on society to have people deny Christ and deny Almighty God. It calls good evil and evil good. When we are reborn in God’s image our eyes are open to the light and we can see through the deceptions and wrongness that is happening.

To live a life full of goodness and truth we must have clear spiritual vision, so our choices are seen from the light of truth. God’s Word holds only truth and is an excellent foundation for our lives. Armed with His truth we can walk down a lighted path to our goal of becoming all God created us to be. His good plan for our lives will be fulfilled.

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord,

‘plans for peace and well-being and

not for disaster,

to give you a future and a hope.

I as well as my pals came digesting the great guidelines from your web page and so before long I got an awful feeling I never expressed respect to the blog owner for those techniques. All of the men had been as a consequence thrilled to study them and have now without a doubt been enjoying them. Thanks for actually being so thoughtful and also for getting such fabulous issues most people are really desirous to be informed on. My personal sincere apologies for not expressing appreciation to earlier.

                                        AWESOME GOD

Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.

Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.

Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

  • Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.

Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US  S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!

Psalm 91:14 (AMP)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)

Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!

Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:

Psalm 139:1-10

O Lord, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

4 You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, Lord.

5 You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

You are always with me.

You will guide me.

You will always be my support. Your strength

upholds me, protects me, supports me.

Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
