The mist is getting darker~ I believe night has come. Thank You Holy Spirit for cave shelter. I just noticed the rocks themselves seem to emanate warmth. I am in Your care Holy Spirit and You bring me warmth and a place to spend the night. Despite the darkness outside the cave, I am feeling wrapped in a soft blanket of security and love. You are always so good to me, Lord!
With the morning brightness, the mist has thinned a little, and I greet my Lord with joy! This challenge could be frightening if I had to go through it alone, but You my God are always with me. I am so thankful!
Psalm 91:14Amplified Bible (AMP)
“Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him;
I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name
[he confidently trusts and relies on Me,
knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].
The trek up this misty mountain seems easier this morning. Yes, the trail is steeper, but my spirit is full after spending the night in Holy Spirit rest. Then I follow the path around a curve and notice the mist is thicker and the trail is narrower. Ok, it’s choice time. Do I give in to fear, or do I trust my God to lead me through this difficult place?
Closing my eyes I listen for His voice. I hear His Word’s promise:
Hebrews 13:5 (AMP)
. . .for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you
[nor give you up nor leave you without support,
nor will I in any degree leave you helpless],
nor will I forsake or let you down
or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
Ok, here I go. Carefully and with senses wide open I begin the trek again. I know my God is faithful, and I know He loves me, so I am not afraid to move. Soon I am back in the fog and unable to see. My hand touches rock as my feet slide forward. It’s slow going, but I must be near the top. Suddenly I sense an obstruction ahead. Reaching out I feel a small tree or bush blocking my forward motion. Now what do I do Holy Spirit? A gentle breeze whispers and the mist clears. He has brought me to the top of the mountain. Walking to the right gives me an extraordinary view. Wow! I am so blessed, my Lord. This beauty is magnificent!
In all life challenges, no matter how huge or how small, God is always with us. We just need to call on Him and trust Him to be there. He is ever faithful.

One particular Scripture has recently touched my heart, because as I began to see the signs of aging on my body, my confidence began to go down. “Does anybody listen to those who have grown older?” I questioned. “Am I still of any use to God?” I asked. It’s easy to spot the reactions of people I know and don’t know, especially the youth. A depression began to try and come upon me. It was then I became reacquainted with:
Planted in the house of the Lord,
they shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age;
they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality]
and [rich in the] verdure…”
Verdure is a condition of health and vigor.
“…[of trust, love, and contentment].
15 [They are living memorials] to show
that the Lord is upright
and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock,
and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”
My Rock indeed!! Love this promise~ ‘they shall still bring forth fruit in old age’. They shall remain healthy and full of ‘spiritual vitality’! I am a living memorial to show God’s goodness and faithfulness. Now I like that! How about you? Do you ever begin to doubt yourself and see yourself according to the world instead of seeing yourself as God does?
I’m reminded of the young woman, that I wrote about previously, who was severely burned about her face and torso. Her face, though scarred, is beautiful as it reflects the love of God. She shines like a full moon reflecting Jesus love and reaches a lot of people for Him. After meeting her I looked into the mirror studying the wrinkles and discolorations of my own reflection. If she can reach multitudes with her scars, why could I not do the same with a few wrinkles?
It’s not by my power that people hear the Word, but through Holy Spirit speaking through me. He can cause them to see me any way He wants. It’s not up to me. With this revelation came thanksgiving and joy! Thank You Lord for teaching me a valuable lesson. Vanity is not worth anything:
Psalm 119:37 (AMP)
Turn my eyes away from vanity
[all those worldly, meaningless things that distract—
let Your priorities be mine],
And restore me [with renewed energy] in Your ways.
Indeed, restore me with renewed energy in Your ways O Lord!
Are you in need of restoration? I would tell you to remove your eyes from yourself and focus on Almighty God who wants to use you to His glory! Wants to lift you high! Submit yourself to His hands and let Him make you all you can be!

Have you ever found you go to bed at night and all is well, then you wake up in the morning with a dark cloud over your head? Where did that come from? Of course, one can wake up to a sunshiny spirit as well. How much does “wake up mode” affect your day? I found a few of my wake up mornings in my journal~
1. Holy Spirit I thank You for Your help this morning; i awoke in a struggling frame of mind. I don’t know what this attack was, but I knew where to come for help in conquering it. You are God and have all the force and power of the Father and of Jesus. And You, Holy Spirit, love me as Jesus and my Father love me. You are on my side in every battle. You give me strength and truth. You convict and convert and purify. I bow before Jesus, my Lord, and say, “speak plainly to me Lord of all You would have me do. I bow down to You”.
2. Holy Spirit, thank You for Your faithfulness!
It began with a rainbow seen from my window rising in the western sky. There had been no rain, yet here was a beautiful declaration from the Lord that He loves me. Full bright colors declaring His love. What a wonderful way to begin the day!
3. A day of all things happening as they should, yet I am stationary. My table has been cleared and a green pasture has appeared before me~ a field with no paths and no roads lies at my feet. I wait in God’s rest for His next call. Peace is in His rest.
For we who believe [that is, we who personally trust and confidently rely on God]
enter that rest [so we have His inner peace now
because we are confident in our salvation,
and assured of His power],
4. Hassles attack, like computer glitches, but I will not allow them to destroy my peace. My God is so much larger, grander than a computer glitch, that I know He will be part of the solution. Aches develop from a flu shot, but I know they will work themselves out. Enemy is trying mind games, but I call upon the mighty Name of Jesus, and my mind remains at peace. I don’t know if I’ve ever been in this precise spot before, but I believe I will just relax and enjoy it.
Isaiah 40:31 (AMP)
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]
Will gain new strength and renew their power;
They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles
[rising toward the sun];
They will run and not become weary,
They will walk and not grow tired.
Many beginnings, but how do the days end? What choices do I make during the day? That is where the real accomplishment is seen. Choosing the right response to situations and problems that arise is the key.
Knowing Jesus, His love for us, His desire to help us, and that He is always with us will support us all the way through. Like that morning when I got a traffic ticket, I had the choice of denial, pleading, or accepting. I knew I was wrong, so I admitted my fault very politely; I prayed for mercy, and the policeman reduced the fine. I thanked him and shook his hand. I know from the look on his face that surprised him. It felt good to know I had blessed him with my response. I'm quite sure that does not happen often. I also know God blessed me for Christlike behavior in a negative circumstance.
As we grow up in our parents home, we adapt behaviors like theirs. When we spend time each day with the Lord and in His Word, we become more like Him and responding His way becomes a matter of habit. Holy Spirit also is with us to keep us calm and guide us along a proper path.
What influences your day and do you have a tendency to react or respond to situations?

I read an article about abused animals and people crying out to stop the killing of baby seals or whales, or. . . people are up in arms for animals. Articles on interspecies communication, sharing love with animals. I love animals and value their life too. BUT are the advocates crying also for the abused human babies?
I remember cuddling my first grandchild; newly born warm and so dear to my heart. What joy filled me! Life. God created life, a miracle where God breathed His life into this dear child. How precious is life!
Yet today we have fallen to the deceptions of the enemy regarding life having only value in what money it brings. Millions of babies have been killed, aborted from their mother’s wombs. They are being retailed out for body parts; even if aborted babies are born alive, they are killed for the value of body parts. Babies are torn apart by the procedures or cut apart after birth. All this for money under the guise of research.
When I read in the Bible about children killed as sacrifice to the god Molech, it made me ill, How could they?
Leviticus 18:21-22 (AMP)
21 You shall not give any of your children to pass through the fire
and sacrifice them to Molech [the fire god]. . .
I refuse to sit by and just watch the devil deceive while human children are once again being sacrificed to the god of greed. It’s only tissue the liars say; yet the heart is formed and beating and body parts are sold for money~ not tissue but livers, lungs, kidneys, brains, muscles.
What the heck are we doing folks? If we continue to sit by doing nothing, we are just as guilty! Can your heart hear the silent painful cries of the unborn child being agonizingly ripped apart? Oh please my friends, speak up for the unborn! Do not sit by and allow political correctness to intimidate you! God’s children are being horribly killed and for greed. Planned Parenthood is being enriched by blood money. And our taxes are paying them for it! We need to stop paying Planned Parenthood to murder and sell the body parts of our children, yes paying them with our tax dollars!

The other day I had a run-in with a man who treated me very condescendingly. I cannot even tell you the feelings that conjured up. Anger yes. Hurt yes. Embarrassment yes. My response was controlled anger, but my insides were seething. How dare he. . . I did send an email to my bosses about the situation letting them know my feelings on the matter. After work, as the situation replayed itself in my mind again, I realized I had to forgive him. And i did, but the enemy keeps trying to get my ire raised again. He loves to pour gasoline on fires of our hurts. But my Savior has a totally different perspective:
Matthew 5:42-47 (MSG)
Love Your Enemies
38-42 “Here’s another old saying that deserves a second look:
‘Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.’ Is that going to get us anywhere?
Here’s what I propose: ‘Don’t hit back at all.’ If someone strikes you,
stand there and take it. If someone drags you into court
and sues for the shirt off your back, giftwrap your best coat
and make a present of it. And if someone takes unfair advantage of you,
use the occasion to practice the servant life.
No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.
So the letter was a bit of tit for tat; however, if I really want to live my life for Him, then I must take His advice. Yes, it’s advice~ for my benefit. I get to choose to allow the enemy to turn up the fire of my ire, or I forgive and watch the coals be doused by grace and go out. And it is grace that helps in living a happier life with joy as the outcome, not anger and hurt. Sometimes my human nature forgets God’s Word, reacts and does not let go easily of painful hurts from another; but I find with grace it’s possible to take Jesus’ advice~
. . . When someone gives you a hard time, respond
with the energies of prayer,
for then you are working out of your true selves,
your God-created selves.
This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—
to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty.
If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus?
Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you,
do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.
Jesus sums it up in the Message Version like this:
48 “In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects.
Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity.
Live generously and graciously toward others,
the way God lives toward you.”
"Live out your God-created identity." That touched my spirit. I am born again as a child of God. He is my Father, and I want to live as He created me to live which is above my strictly human nature.
What do you do when you are hurt by the words or actions of another?

As kids we had a great playground~ climbing all over the houses under construction in our neighborhood. We played tag on rafters, sat in attic tilts balancing our feet on pieces of wood stretched between the two-by-fours. One time my little piece of wood slipped and since all my weight was on it, down i flew. Thankfully it was only about 8 feet; my friend who was just entering the house was truly startled by this body flying down from above. Only damage was some scraped underarms which I quickly went home to clean. My parents never found out about it.
One time we hid in the attic area as some potential buyers were coming through. One inexperienced kid stepped in between the rafters and their foot crashed through the ceiling. Oh no, busted! It was a great life growing up back then! The enemy did not seem to have his hand in much; however it was at that time he managed to get prayer taken out of schools, so his long range plan was in place. Thankfully our parents knew the Lord, and they sent us to a catholic school to reinforce what they were teaching us at home.
Later in life I accepted Christ as the Lord of my life and now I live for Him. When I accepted Jesus, it felt like a paradigm shift~ I saw everything in a new perspective. It is a wonderful life and guarantees my eternity in heaven.
John 3:16 (AMP)
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
I want to share this truth with everyone. Life here on earth will get more challenging in these last days, and having a close relationship with a loving Almighty God is a marvelous help! This is the word that came forth in GPAN's prayer time:
All the way through—an abundance for you. Discouragement has been cleared away, for you’ve given it unto Me today—every care and anxiety that tried to hold you there.
For My joy is your joy and My strength is your strength. I’ve given it to you to move you through, for in the days and in the weeks that are to come, confess and declare what I’ve said to you would take place right there in your house—an abundance of My mercy and an abundance of My grace and an abundance of My power and presence in your place. Take it unto yourself. Take it for your family. Take it for your church. Take it for your pastors, too. Hallelujah! Lord, by faith we receive it.
Will you ask Jesus to forgive your sins and come be the Lord over your life? His indwelling presence of love brings power, peace, and joy.

Explosive power is sometimes contained in small packages like a hand grenade, and at other times in larger containers like a bomb. These two examples are usually found in wartime. However, “peace time” also is laden with powerful weapons called “words”. In the last post I spoke of how they can be used for good or for evil. They contain the capacity to destroy people or to build people up. Self talk can do the same~ how we speak to our selves, the thoughts we allow go into our subconscious do guide our actions to success or failure, to positive acts or negative ones. Words are blasts of energy that create and we choose how to use them.
However, I’m not really writing about self, more about “words of power”. As God created human beings, we have been given the authority to use words to speak to the God the Universe. His Son Jesus became human and by His shed blood won back for us the right to have God given authority on the earth. We can speak with our God asking for divine intervention or help in our situations. Today is NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. Our country has a Christian heritage from its conception. The devil is working hard to destroy it. But the power of prayer is capable of restoring God to our nation. My friends, use words of prayer power to claim the authority we have over the enemy and win back our country to its divine origins, to the Word of God, and to God Himself.
Feeling weak and helpless to do anything about the downgrading of our country? Anguished about the continual growth of sexual immorality and the lies being taught to our children in school? Angry that our government has put us on a downhill track in an out of control train trying to change our culture and the Constitution that has kept us in victory for so long? What is one thing everyone can do to harness this power to stop it? PRAYER.
PRAYER IS NUCLEAR IN POWER. Gather together and pray out Scriptures such as:
2 Chronicles 7:14 (AMP)
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves,
pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face
and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven,
forgive their sin, and heal their land.
God does hear our prayers and He does answer them. Praying Scripture, God’s promises, does contain nuclear powered energy. IF WE FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS: humble ourselves, crave His face, and turn from wickedness, (that is, repent), He will hear and forgive our sin, and heal our land. My friends, it is the only thing powerful enough to help us at this point. Stand in the gap for our nation!
And I sought a man among them who should build up the wall
and stand in the gap before Me for the land,
that I should not destroy it,
but I found none.
Will God find you? Will you stand in the gap for our land? Pray!

The phosphorous grenade exploded just as he was about to let go of it. The destruction was horrifying. The soldier lost his ear, his eye, flesh from his face and body. Yet by sheer will and the support of a loving wife, he survived to begin a retreat for wounded warriors.
Each spoken or written word is a grenade of potential power that can be used for building up or for destruction. This potential can be used for or against self or others. When one sees a grenade, they're aware of the forcefulness of its capability. Now I say, examine each word before it leaves your mouth for its direction and influence. In war sometimes explosive devices can maim and murder defenseless children. It happens. Words can maim and destroy a child as well, perhaps not physically, but emotionally. Just as deadly.
Words also contain power to heal and to enlarge. The grenade explosion of goodness and healing goes off in the heart. Speak words to all of love and endearment. Let the flow from your mouth be light, a gift. Lift up. Let your words be containers of smiles and joy.
God’s Word is nuclear in power with the ability to entirely change the nature of a person. Have you consumed His Word yet? He says,
Isaiah 55:11 NKJV
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Hebrews 4:12 AMP
For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
Since words from our mouths are like electrical energy ready to flash out, what about the Word from God’s mouth? Its potential is mighty to create magnificent outcomes when we speak it in faith. It’s sometimes called “prayer”.
My friends, have you recognized the incredible power of words? When have you experienced their positive or negative affect?

Snowshowers slanting down this way, then that, displaying the currents of the wind. Gazing out my window I was mesmerized by their activity as snowflakes seemed to run madly through the air. Later I glanced out again and they were drifting down lazily bringing a smile to my face. It's my favorite way to watch them~ this lazy dance of the snowflakes! Their pristine whiteness covers the patio transforming the dirt and the mess of the kid’s playthings into intricate designs of beauty.
Its also true, I'm sure glad I don’t have to be out in the cold and danger of icy roads today; guess the beauty would be a little diminished if I had to face that. It’s kind of like living a life of faith~ it’s wonderful when I feel His Presence surrounding; but if I am not on guard, I can get preoccupied with challenges, and be led down a chilly path of doubt and fear. Ok, my friends, how do we protect ourselves from this kind of attack?
Don’t know about you, but I arm myself with the Word. When temptation tries to slide it’s slippery tentacles around my mind, the Word is programed to put up its shield:
Isaiah 41:10 (AMP)
Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you;
do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties,
yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you
with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice
Once the Word of God siphons off the deceptions of the enemy, my emotions quiet down to rest in the Lord and answers come.
Be it lovely drifting of snow mesmerizing my mind, or a challenge caused by it, there is always an answer in the mighty God of all creation who loves us and ever provides a way out of difficulties. Trusting in Him and His Word is a key to enjoying all the beauties of a peaceful life and having victory over the enemy’s attempts to mess it up!
Have you tuned into His answers for your life yet? If not I encourage you to begin the journey today.
