God Can Do It!

Yesterday I learned Steve McQueen had become a Christian later in his life. This star who excited many hearts a few decades ago died from cancer with Billy Graham’s Bible clutched in his hands. Steve’s childhood was tragic; his mother was a raging alcoholic, and he grew up with 'fathers' abuse rather than love (except for a heavenly Father he didn’t know back th...

Heart For the Children

Posted on June 21, 2017 at 7:00 AM Comments comments (0)

I felt a heaviness in my quiet time this morning. It seemed as though God was telling me about His care and concern for the kids today. His heart was on the young ones, the preteens and teens. Indeed it is the time in our maturing process which is most difficult. All the hormones are changing, physical bodies are developing, attractions to the opposite sex is growing with it....

Guard Your Heart

Some time ago there was a Star Trek episode where a couple of the crew had vacationed on a planet. They brought back to the ship a new game. You put a device on the head and the eye got pulled by it and a signal went to the brain which sent a pleasure signal to the body. It became quickly addictive until almost all the crew was trapped by it. All they wanted to do was play the game.

One young member managed ...

Grace and Forgiveness

Easter and Good Friday are fast approaching. It is the time when our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered excruciating pain of a cruel whip tearing His flesh apart, of being stripped and unjustly vilified, of being dragged from place to place, a crown of thorns painfully pushed into His skull. Our Jesus was betrayed by one of His own apostles for thirty pieces of silver. As I meditate on...

Still Sacrificed to Molech?

I read an article about abused animals and people crying out to stop the killing of baby seals or whales, or. . . people are up in arms for animals. Articles on interspecies communication, sharing love with animals. I love animals and value their life too. BUT are the advocates crying too for the abused human babies?

I remember cuddling my first grandchild; newly bor...

Love Always Overcomes Hate

Came downstairs this one morning to see what my window would tell me about the outside world. It was yellowy foggy and weird looking; and suddenly the wind came with a terrific force and tiny snow pellets were sent swirling. Trees branches were bending this way and that. It almost had a malevolent feel to it.

The day before I had read that witchcraft has been brewing, ...

Young Life Gone, Yet Still Touches the World

Last week I went with a friend to see a marvelous program that was established out of the Columbine tragedy where 12 students and one extraordinary teacher were shot to death. The first one killed was Rachel Joy Scott who was eating lunch outside the school with a friend. Rachel was a mostly normal teenager who loved life, people, and her God. She exemplified kindness and compassion.

Weep For The Children ll

In March of 2011 I discovered evil in a new place that made my heart weep. This blog was then posted, but a recent twitter post by psychologist Barbara Wilson on the connection between pornography and the sex slave trade was so revealing, I want to share it at the beginning of my original post:

Shocked! Horrified! It was not quite believable. Guess I am not j...

So Grateful for Overflowing Love

Good morning Lord! I lift You up and praise Your glory! You are awesome and beautiful, more glorious than the sunrise that brightens the morning sky with vibrant oranges and pinks, and shades of red. You are brighter than the full moon shedding light to us earthlings at night.

Culture of Death

My heart is breaking! Just been told that a young friend of my nephew committed suicide. His note said he couldn’t live up to all the expectations put on him. He evidently didn’t know the Lord, or he would have a place to take his frustrations. Our society and it’s attack on Christianity has kept these youngsters from having a resource of strength that should be available to them. This death takes...

The other day I was with my pre-teen grandkids, and they wanted to watch Harry Potter. So never having seen one, I sat down with them. I’d heard negative things and now I know why. The kids reaction was “I wish I could go to a school like that and learn magic.” My response was, “You have Jesus, the God Creator of the Universe living inside of y...

The Big Bad Wolf

A small child walks through the woods carefree and happy, just skipping along the path. When suddenly from behind a bush jumps the big bad wolf. She screams and begins to run as she hears the wolf laugh. She comes to a place where the sun is able to shine through the branches and make a room of light.

Memories and Current Heartaches

In this season celebrating the birth of Jesus, God’s own Son, born upon the earth as a human baby, I am drawn to childhood memories of our family’s Christmas celebrations. They were a time of excitement and love and happiness. Love seemed a spirit that floated through the air permeating every taste, smell, word, and touch. On Christmas Eve songs colored the atmosphere with a sweet love ...

Unfulfilled Purpose

A dream: Walking down the street, minding my own business, when out of the blue a deep voice calls my name. I turn around to see who it is. Nada! No one was there. I look up~ only blue sky not even a bird was close. I’m puzzled and a little nervous, so I continue walking. Next I hear a baby crying. Again it seems to just come out of thin air. . . no baby, but there are suddenly a multitude of painful c...

A Warning!

Good morning Holy Spirit! I praise You and lift You up high, and higher and higher! For You are my God, Third Person of the Holy Trinity! You are the Lord of all. Your glory fills the heavens and I recognize it especially at sunrise and sunset; I recognize it in the clouds blown by mighty winds; I recognize it in a single wildflower growing on a mountain ledge, or in a hoard of weeds and dead plants.

Human Sacrifice

Sitting here thinking of my beautiful grandchildren! A couple are adopted, and I love all of them with all of my heart! Today there is a lump sitting in my stomach. Sick. Just saw the video of Planned Parenthood bargaining for baby’s body parts. How much money for a liver? a heart? They slaughter babies and then make money by selling their organs? Life has lost value in our world. How...

Containers of Explosive Power

The phosphorous grenade exploded just as he was about to let go of it. The destruction was horrifying. The soldier lost his ear, his eye, flesh from his face and body. Yet by sheer will and the support of a loving wife, he survived to begin a retreat for wounded warriors.

Each spoken or written word is a grenade of potential power that can be used for building up or...

Lost Children

A hiker gets lost in a national forest and dies. He was unprepared, inexperienced. Why would one go alone into the great outdoors without knowing the dangers and preparing for them?

Lord, life is the greatest outdoors. You have given us everything we need for a successful and victorious life. But there is an evil being in this world who wants our loss and demise. It is dark, malevolent and vengeful hating all God’s children~ out to stea...
