Jesus, Our Superhero

Seems there’s a lot of evil in television shows like the ‘Walking Dead’ and vampires, and cruelty, and violence. The enemy is laughing at us setting ourselves up for defeat by allowing his junk to lodge in our minds, especially heads of our youth. Meanwhile, he has worked to eliminate Jesus from minds, again, especially of our youth; yet look what Jesus has done for us:

Understand what Jesus did! It’s like we were captured by an evil enemy who used our natures against us. We were in a prison designed to keep us away from our loving Father. So God, our true Father, sent His Son Jesus to come from heaven to earth and become a substitute for me and for you. He came as our personal superhero, our Savior, and took our place in prison. When the enemy came for me, he got Jesus instead; Jesus was the one tortured. Jesus was the one cruelly murdered on the cross in my/our place. Then 3 days later, Jesus, our superhero rose from the dead in victory~ He defeated death! And guess what~ because of Him, you and I have too. Jesus looked at us and said come on up out of the prison and meet the Father Who loves you! We escape satan’s prison by accepting Jesus’ gift of salvation and choosing to live in His Kingdom, following Him as our guide through life, going His way. And in the end death is merely a door we walk through into our eternal life in heaven with our God and the magnificent love that permeates our new forever home.

My friends, as we live in this world where satan roams like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, look at the magnificent Lion of Judah, who is Jesus the Christ. Jesus will chase the enemy away when we call on Him. Jesus is a thought away. When we read His Word, spend time getting to know Him, we will meet the God of the Universe face to face and joy will be our path. I know, because I have met Him. I now journey with Him through my life. We talk and walk together daily. I love my Superhero Jesus and He loves me. I invite you, my friends, to build a close intimate relationship with the God who created you and loves you truly and deeply. You will be awed by the paradigm shift you will see in your life!

Soverign Power Can Be Yours

Dr. Kenneth Hagin spoke often about the power of the Name of Jesus. Jesus himself told us anything we ask in His name we can have:

John 14:12-14 (AMP)

12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you,

if anyone steadfastly believes in Me,

he will himself be able to do the things that I do;

and he will do even greater things than these,

because I go to the Father.

13 And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask

in My Name [as presenting all that I Am],

so that the Father may be glorified and

extolled in (through) the Son. . .

Exodus 3:14 (AMP)

And God said to Moses,

I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be

What I Will Be; and He said,

You shall say this to the Israelites:

I Am has sent me to you!

The mighty God of Israel, the Great I AM, King of Kings, all that power and authority is in Jesus. Anything we ask Jesus in His Name, knowing Jesus as God, pulls all that authority along with it and guarantees receiving an answer. Photo by Teri Clanahan (aka tallgal43)

Know the tremendous power working here! We ask only what we know God wants. To do this we must know God’s heart. That is why spending time with Him each day is a requirement in living a life of force, dominion, and victory.

Wow! See why praying in and recognizing the authority inherent in Jesus’ Name is so powerful? It doesn’t mean we just throw in the phrase “in Jesus name” at the end of a request. We must do so with understanding and intent, that is, we do as Jesus says: 14 [Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am]. Jesus is God with all the authority and power of the God-head; we use His Name realizing we are calling upon all the divine sovereignty of heaven.

This is truly exciting! When we use the Name of Jesus as instructed by Him, we become Holy Spirit powered people; miracles are not beyond us. However, we must have full understanding, wisdom and protection from Holy Spirit. This takes prayer and meditation.

Have you discovered this amazing heavenly dominance in your life yet?

Jesus and Prayer Power

Dave Butts in his book on prayer says: "My friends, God has made it so very, very simple. He has called the church to be a house of prayer for all nations. We are to be known for prayer."

What did Jesus say to the apostles about prayer? Jesus taught the Apostles the “Our Father”:

Address God as “Our Father”, for He is our Father due a deep and abiding love and respect; He loves us more than we can even imagine. He is with us always keeping eyes of love upon us; we can always call on Him in full belief and trust.

Who art in heaven

~ God resides in heaven where all who accept His Son’s gift of salvation will one day come home. God is also omnipresent ~ everywhere present.

Holy be thy name

~ Our Holy God full of honor and authority, Yahweh is His name. The ancient peoples would not even speak the name, because it was so Holy. Holiness was a powerful description then and should be now; and it's what we should all be striving for today. We have Holy Spirit indwelling us, God Himself lives in us. We are a temple of a holy God. Should not our thoughts and actions be worthy of a temple of God? Holy!

Thy Kingdom come~ The Kingdom of Jesus has been established. We are citizens of His kingdom if we choose to be.

1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 (NIV)

For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children,

12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God,

who calls you into his kingdom and glory.

                                                                                            Colossians 1:12-14 (AMP)

12 Giving thanks to the Father, . . .

13 [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

14 In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins.

We have been drawn to the Father and transferred into the kingdom of the Son of His love. We live in Jesus' kingdom now, and are sent into the world as His ambassadors. We represent Jesus while walking in the world, so let us never disrespect Him by our words or actions. Rather let our works bring glory to Him. Jesus Kingdom will one day rule the earth.

Thy will be done~ Yes, we choose the will of our mighty God to be done in our lives. His will runs the universe; we choose it to run our lives too.

"on earth as it is in heaven~ God's will is lived out in heaven; in the same way let it be lived out on this earth. There is no evil in heaven; 'Lord, scrub this earth clean of evil (one day You will do this). In our life today, let it be so: no evil can come close, for our holy God dwells in us. Our very bodies are a temple, and He is always 'home', always with us!

Give us this day our daily bread~ provide our needs each day Lord. We ask and know that He hears us. Whatever we need this day, He will provide for us. God's supply is not limited to physical needs, but in His divine wisdom He sees all our needs; and in His love for us, we can trust Him to furnish them. If we require comfort, He is there to hold and to hug. If we require wisdom He will impart it. Our loving Lord is always with us to hold us and help us. He never forsake us; see His promises:

Isaiah 54:10 (AMP)

For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed, says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.

Deuteronomy 31:7-8 (AMP)

7 And Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong, courageous, and firm, for you shall go with this people into the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to possess it.

8 It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit—depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm].

                                                                                                   Hebrews 13:5 (AMP)

5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have];

for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

Lord, You are faithful to us!

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed against us~ Father we will forgive those who have hurt us. We ask that You also forgive us for anything we do that hurts You, any sin we commit, any hurt we do against others, we beg Your forgiveness. We ask Holy Spirit to convict us of sins we may not even be consciously aware of, so we can repent. Help us to forgive others who hurt us. Sometimes that is very difficult, and we need Your assistance with it!

Lead us not into temptation ~ we know when temptation comes, we need to turn away. Sometimes it's very difficult; we need to pray for strength and that God will keep us from evil!

For Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory! ~ we give You the glory! You are the awesome Lord God, Creator of the universe, magnificent in Your glory, and we bow down and worship You! Our hearts are Yours, Father; we love You!

Thank You Jesus for teaching us about praying. You went on talking about persistence in prayer:

Luke 11:8-9 (NLT)

[talking about a friend] But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake,

if you keep knocking long enough,

he will get up and give you whatever you need

because of your shameless persistence.

9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking,

and you will receive what you ask for.

Keep on seeking, and you will find.

Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

Thank You Jesus!

SEARCHING FOR A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD

                                        AWESOME GOD

 DIGGING DEEPER

Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.

Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.

Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

  • Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.

Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US  S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!

Psalm 91:14 (AMP)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)

Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!

Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:

Psalm 139:1-10

O Lord, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

4 You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, Lord.

5 You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

You are always with me.

You will guide me.

You will always be my support. Your strength

upholds me, protects me, supports me.

Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
