We Are Both Eager!

Do you remember, as a child, the eagerness inside on Christmas Eve? Or at the arrival at a much loved vacation place? Or the visit of a special friend? It’s that jump up and down excitement with eyes sparkling and a wide grin splitting the face. That is the feeling inside of me when I think about living with my God face to face.


Revelation 21:3 (AMP)

. . .and then I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying,

 

“See! The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will live among them,

and they will be His people,and God Himself will be with them [as their God,]

 

 


God loves us so much! Many think of God as a power living far away and out of touch. In today’s world the enemy is working hard to dismiss God altogether. Get Him out of schools, out of government, out of kid’s lives. We'll allow Him to live in church (for now). Unfortunately the enemy is being pretty successful.





Truth is, God created us as His children to live with us and enjoy life together with us. Our original parents spoiled the plan by listening to satan and betraying God. That original sin got them and their descendants (us ) kicked out of the Garden of Eden. Our God is all knowing and planned for this deception of the enemy. His plan was Jesus. Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth as a man and reintroduced Father God to us, took the punishment for our sins on His back, created the opportunity for the Holy Spirit to indwell us, and retrieved our heavenly inheritance.


So now as these end time months continue to speed by, we are left with some new things to meditate on. Is it true? Are these really the end times? Is that why time has sped up? What should I do?




There are many signs and occurrences indicating that these are indeed the end times. My friends, please know that the absolute most important thing to do is to be sure you have gotten to know Jesus and made Him Lord of your life. Admit you sin, then thank Him for taking the punishment that was our debt to pay. Your sin nature is then washed away, and you are able to throw off the evil temptations of the enemy, and  now belong to God with His DNA; You now live your life for Him, and it is a good life! Love and joy will filter into daily living. Building a relationship with God brings new exciting discoveries!


Hebrews 7:25 AMPC

Therefore He (Jesus) is able also to save to the uttermost

(completely, perfectly, finally,  and for all time and eternity) 

                                       those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition

to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.


                                     

 When our last hour comes there will be no fear,                                                                                 only joy at being with God in person.  

He’ll eagerly greet us with love.

Lessons Learned Through Depth Study

My Lord You have been guiding me to discover Your purpose for my existence: to reach the unloved with Your love flowing thru me, Your Words speaking on the page and from my mouth. There are so many living in darkness these days! Let Your light shine through me. My heart's desire is to serve You.

I’ve discovered that as I go over these 4 blogs on going deeper with God again, they are even more meaningful. They showed me I need to refocus on God’s promises, His Word, again to continue my journey. I know it is a continuing saga until I go home to Him.

Do you feel this way too, my friends? WE go from glory to glory~ level to level. My heart is focused now on going deeper with my Lord. My current 'place' is feeling shallow. I want more! I must have a closer connection with my Lord, and that will require spending more time with Him I know! It is a choice.

Proverbs 2:1-5 (NIV)

1My son, if you accept my words

and store up my commands within you,

2 turning your ear to wisdom

and applying your heart to understanding—

3 indeed, if you call out for insight

and cry aloud for understanding,


4 and if you look for it as for silver

and search for it as for hidden treasure,

5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord

and find the knowledge of God.


In the Depth series I began to see the truth of this Scripture:

#1 When He calls it may seem impossible; but if He calls, we trust, and He will enable


#2 Name the treasure I seek. Is it the same as God’s will? When the journey seems too difficult, believe His Word; His promises are true! Sometimes the pressure can seem too much to bear, severe enough to even challenge my faith. Always go to His Word and His promises to be revitalized. He will guide me through any storm. He is my Strong Tower

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”


#3 When I grow weary of the struggle, be determined to reach the goal; be committed to it. Be passionate about following God’s will! Know my own heart to find His heart. The enemy will try to bring fear and doubt threatening with its lies and deceptions ~remember God’s promises in His Word.

and directs us to hidden treasure.

Otherwise how will we find our way?

Or know when we play the fool?

Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh!

Keep me from stupid sins,

from thinking I can take over your work;

scrubbed clean of the grime of sin.


Ps 55:16(MSG) As for me I will call upon the Lord and He will save me.

#4 Trust in the Holy Spirit to lead me along the path He set out for me. Continually seek Him.


These lessons are basic to living in God’s will and gaining wisdom to know the purpose He has for my life! Trust in Him is paramount! Having a purpose gives meaning to every day! Thank You Lord!!

Depth 4 Golden Globes

Here I am at the bottom of the sea with Jesus and the Treasure chest. It’s been an exhausting swim, but valuable in strength building and learning! Now the goal is within reach. The front of the chest has a buckle holding it shut tight. Releasing it; already escaping from opening cracks is a bright golden light. Gently lifting the lid, amazement fills my soul. What is contained inside looks like parchment encased in translucent golden balls.

Touching one golden globe sends an electric sensation through my fingers. A vision fills my mind. A person I know with a fiery wound in her chest. Tell me Lord, is that physical or emotional?


“Mary, Holy Spirit will lead you; go to Him; He will reveal to you why she is the one who needs prayers". His love flows as He begins to download other details of the situation. My prayers will be a lifesaving moment, a healing touch of the Father for her. What a wonderful privilege to work with the power of God to help people and bring His love and salvation to them.


Eyes closed, I meditate on the Holy Spirit asking for Him to pray through my mouth. Each golden globe contains a plan, a task for me to perform, each laid out along a path. This is the supernatural strategy of God for my life, an objective of purpose and power. (He has one for your life too!)

Raising with the globes through the sea, my head crests the surface, and I eagerly watch the globes' movements; some are settling like buoys, and others moving toward land. I try to keep eyes on them, but their speed is beyond my ability to follow. Lord now what? Smiling, Jesus looks tenderly and reminds me to trust. “All things will come to you at the proper time. Everything My Father has for you, you will find. Fear not!”

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLV)

For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord,

‘plans for well-being and not for trouble,

to give you a future and a hope.


I have found the heart of God, the love for His children and His will for each life. He has assigned me the task of bringing His Word of healing and love to teach His children how to come into relationship with Him. Whispered words fill my spirit:

“Mary you have found your desire. Your seeking has pleased Me. As you walk your journey I will lead and guide you to the places and people who are your assignments. Trust in Me. As you travel I will draw closer to you, and you will live in my Presence. I am your ever present help.”

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

I discover that it is Jesus words in Scripture to all of us:

Matthew 28:18-20 AMP

Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”

 

This allegory is my journey; yet Jesus will lead you on your journey too. What are your experiences in seeking the Father’s heart? Yes, seek Him with all your heart! Holy Spirit will guide you in your search; He will help you discover your purpose, your personal path, and His heart. Ask with the persistence of a seeking heart, and you shall receive.

“Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.

Depth 3 Treasure Chest Discovered

Rest time over; the journey to find the treasure is renewed. Continuing to swim has become more difficult, for my body is weary from its struggles. “Jesus, I am really getting tired.” He responds, “So you want to stop?” Again I realized this was a defining moment. Do I have the determination to continue? Is my will committed enough to pursue this journey through exhaustion to the end? Am I passionate enough about finding the heart of God to push through the fatigue?

 

 

Closing my eyes I looked into my own heart, for we cannot know the heart of God if we do not know our own heart. There I found a desperate desire to know my Lord and my God at a deeper level, to push our relationship to a farther depth. “Jesus, let’s continue” I respond.


 

 

Then the thrill hits as in the distance I see a treasure box! Yes, just like a pirate’s treasure box holding lots of golden coins. Wow! Extra energy empowers my body to move more swiftly through the water until. . .


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I see large shadows swimming around it. Ok. I never even considered sharks and other dangers lurking in the darkness at this level. Jesus, what will we do now? I hear no response, though I know He is near. Looking around, I see His eyes peering at me, but no words; it’s up to me.

 

 

 

Pondering what I know to be true, I search my memory for an answer. There is the treasure chest which holds answers my heart deeply desires. But the bodyguards of the chest are formidable, and wisdom is required here. Check the Word. . .

I call to God;

God will help me.

in the middle of danger

are lined up against me.

God hears it all, and from his judge’s bench

puts them in their place.

But, set in their ways, they won’t change;

they pay him no mind.

It's ok. My God watches over me and He is in control.

 

 

Psalm 55:16 (AMP)

16 As for me, I will call upon God, and the Lord will save me.


 

Jesus, Your Word says if I call upon my God, He will save me. It says my life is secure in the middle of danger. I have the authority to command the truth of the Word to take place against my enemy. I am secure in His hands, in Your hands Jesus, the great Lion of Judah!

 

Let us go and secure the treasure. With firm conviction I take the lead to the chest, and reaching it I give praise to my God for His wonderful goodness. The dark shapes keep their distance. I am protected.

 

When was the last time you called upon the faithfulness of our God? Has He helped you through a dangerous time? Did you trust in Him and His Word?

We Shall Never Forget!

Lord, my God! Yesterday was the 16th anniversary of 9/11/. We remember the attack of terrorists on our land. You did many miracles that day. You saved many lives~ some through little things that made people late getting to work in the world trade center~

a phone call, a dirty diaper, spilled coffee, traffic tie up. These small incidental occurrences (Your handiwork) saved lives. However many lost their lives that day. It was a day of infamy, of terrorists trying to bring fear to our hearts. However the folks on Flight 93 taught them that they will never win the battle~


We also focused on Flight 93. Those brave men and women lost their lives saving many others. You put the key people on that flight who needed to be there to act to save so many. They are heroes forever! We give You Thanksgiving Lord! Your love and wisdom has saved our nation many times.

I remember one of the many stories that came out of the Twin Towers rescue attempts that captured my heart:

A son had lost his father who went to volunteer to save and rescue people buried under the debris. The son mourned knowing his Dad was not saved. . . until one day months later. His doorbell rang. There stood a person come to tell him how his Dad had rescued them. It seems both trapped for awhile. During this time the person had talked to his dad about the Lord, and his father had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Tears of joy flowed down the son’s face. The messenger had brought him the good news he so desperately needed. How like You Lord, that You would cause the salvation of his Dad under a huge pie of refuge as he rescued a stranger; then You would send the stranger to the son to share the wonderful news!

Even in the dark times, You are working Lord! God you are so good! We thank You for continuing to work in our nation!

Depths 2 Jesus Sustains

Somehow Jesus You have sustained me here in the depths of the sea. My lungs are no longer desperately crying for oxygen, my mind is focused on You. You know where the Treasure is, and You are leading me there. What is the Treasure? It’s why I have chosen to undertake this journey. The treasure is discovering what is in the heart of the Creator. What plans? What thoughts? What strategy, proposals, ways has He designed for my life? for the world?

As we swim farther down, the pressure begins to build in my lungs and my head. It builds to a crushing intensity; can I survive it? “Jesus!” I cry out! “Help me.” I begin turning in circles. Where are You Lord? Nowhere? “Jesus, you promised in Your Word You would never leave me, never fail me!”

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you;

He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”


As this thought crosses my brain, it leaves a trail of light behind. His Word is true. He is not a man that he should lie nor the son of man that He should change His mind. I do not see you with my eyes, Jesus, but I know You are nearby.

Then I hear my Lord speak, “Mary, in life you will face many storms, and some will seem so painful that you could fear they would kill you; or the pressure may be so severe as to challenge your very faith. What You have chosen now (to trust My Word) will sustain you through any intimidation that tries to lead you to give up. Trust in Me and I will always navigate you through the arm-twisting harassment, and ease your torment.”


With these words the pressure relented and my body began sinking again as the muscles relaxed. Jesus, You are a tough trainer like a sergeant in the military training troops for war. There is a greater battle coming, Jesus. Thank You for being tough!

Acts 9:4-6 (NKJV)

4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

5 And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”

Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”

Trusting in God and in His Word is the vehicle that conquers any situation! Digesting this truth into our soul is a sure defense against the enemy. Stand fast in your storms! Believe. Trust.

Depth 1 Deeper

I discovered inspiration in a teaching by Pastor Marie Helene-Moulin, who heads a prayer ministry in France when she says:


“But with the prayer, the Church on earth is an expression of the thoughts of God. And that’s really what we want. And there are arrangements, there are settings, there are ways, there is gold that only can be found in Him. And we have the privilege to be a coworker with Christ. We have the privilege to be part of His work, which means speaking out those plans that are in Him, speaking them out as we are going to do in order for them to be established on earth."

So "speaking out the plans of God" means we must know the plans of God. How can we know the plans of God? Asking this question of myself brought forth this thought: To know God's thoughts and plans, I will have to know God deeply and personally. This desire crying out from my heart led me to the Scriptures~

Proverbs 20:5 says,

“Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water;

but a man of understanding will draw it out.”

The Message version says, “Knowing what is right is like deep water

in the heart; a wise person draws from the well within.”

Deep deep waters. Jesus calling, “Come out into the deep.” Proverbs teaching that the counsels of a man’s heart is found in the deep waters. My heart is crying out this morning. Lord I want to go deep into Your heart! I am feeling like I’m just feeding in the shallows. Take me deep O Lord.

An allegory begins to take me on a journey~


In my heart I 'see' Jesus out on the boat calling me to come. I swim out and follow him as He dives into the water. I’m no great swimmer and my lungs aren’t large capacity, and as I dive after Jesus, a little anxiety niggles in my thoughts. I must follow Him, but what about air? As my body and mind begin to struggle with these distractions, Jesus turns and looks into my eyes ~ 'choose air to breathe and go topside again, or continue down with Me and trust.'


My future hangs in the balance. Do I trust Jesus to sustain me through the endeavor to maintain life underwater, and discover the treasure below in the deep? Or do I return to life in the shallows never attaining the full potential God put in me? Choosing to trust my King, I embark again into the depths. My lungs try to discourage me crying out with a desperate need to breathe. Jesus is nearby and speaks into my heart: “Peace I give you. My peace I give unto You.” Somehow His words go straight to my lungs and they release the tension. I am swimming without pain or fear in my heart.

Jesus, You are so amazing! Your almighty power has found me in the deep waters and is easing my way to the treasure laying on the bottom. Life with You is challenging, Lord, but You are always faithful!

Ever Wake Up In A Funk?

Seems I need my pride kicked around a bit. I ‘even I’ (LOL) fall prey to evil temptations. Today I awoke with a gloomy cloud over my head; no amount of shaking seemed to loosen it~ until I sat down in my quiet time with my precious Lord. He reminded me that it is my right to evict that evil little demon from my mind and from my home. It had no right here! So I spoke words of eviction out loud in Jesus Name. Then I lifted my hands in praise and worship which was the final boot that kicked the enemy and its evil work away. . .

Holy Lord! Blessed Lord! You are almighty and it’s You I invite into my heart, into my day! Holy Spirit please help me to rise up out of this funk that’s been trying to drag me under this morning. Your light pierces the darkness bringing truth to my soul. . .

The first Scripture He gave me was~

Isaiah 43:25 (AMP)

“I, only I, am He who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake,

And I will not remember your sins.


I know my God has forgiven me and remembers my sin no more. Then a Scripture lit up my thoughts. Jesus often told people He healed, “Your sins are forgiven. Go and sin no more’” Then He healed their mental/physical maladies. So what is Jesus saying to me here? My neglecting to come to Him immediately with the dark cloud of temptation- was it a failure on my part? Was it just tiredness from lack of sufficient sleep? (an excuse).

So what do I do next time I wake up in a hazy mist of confusion? First: Remember confusion is a weapon of the enemy. I fight the enemy as Jesus did with the Word of God; He reminded me first and foremost how very much God loves me. . .


Isaiah 43:1-5

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you [from captivity];

I have called you by name; you are Mine!

2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you.

When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched,

Nor will the flame burn you.

3 “For I am the Lord your God,

The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;

I have given Egypt [to the Babylonians] as your ransom,

Cush (ancient Ethiopia) and Seba [its province] in exchange for you.

4 “Because you are precious in My sight,

You are honored and I love you,

I will give other men in return for you and other peoples in exchange for your life.

                                                                                        5 “Do not fear, for I am with you;

When the Almighty One claims you as His very own, and He calls you by name (listen and you will hear Him call you by name), what an amazing gift!! Then if you are going through a trial (for me it was a cancer diagnosis), and He promises you:


  “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you.

When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched,

Nor will the flame burn you.

Wow! It doesn’t get any better than that! No matter how fiery the trial, how scary, focus on His promises not the enemy “what if’s”. Then you will have peace and calm. Your trust in Him will bring tremendous rewards!! If you like, check out ‘My Journey’ in Cast Up A Highway.


My friends, I know I’m not the only one who gets suckered into the enemy trap of depressive or negative thoughts. Its how fast we leave them behind that matters. At the first sign of the enemy attack, raise up your shield of faith, seek His Word, and you’re well on the way to a victory. Recall Zacchaeus up in the tree? Jesus called him down to dine with Him. Zacchaeus climbed right down and was blessed!

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

A Star in the Play?

Lord, all things raise up and praise Your holy Name! Even the little critters praise You. Birds come and sit on our fence looking over the situation. Sometimes they burst into song, and I find myself wondering what spirit inside them is filling their breast waiting to flow forth? What do these little birds know of the Creator? Is it the realization that they are a small part of something larger? If they have that revelation, why not me?


 

 

 

Do we ever think about our place in God’s plan? We do have a role and it is a very important one whether or not we realize it. If that cheery little birdsong might put a bit of hope in someone’s life this morning, causing them to get out of bed and on to work with a new attitude, That new perspective can bring light and they may even choose to accept Jesus as Savior that day~ and all because of a little birdsong. Or maybe our encouraging word to another will help that one through a difficult situation.

 

 

A smile could brighten another’s whole day; words might even give them knowledge of God’s love for them. If we listen to Holy Spirit within, we could have a major affect on many. But it is our choice whether we listen to Spirit living within, or ignore that still small voice. It's an important choice in God’s design. If I infect one life with hope and truth, only God knows where that will go! Each of us is IMPORTANT.


 

 

 

One step of obedience can be a life and death choice for someone. We are God’s instrument that plays His love song and calls in the hurting, the sick of heart, the lonely, the desperate. Jesus, You said You would 'never leave us, never abandon us; You hold on tight to us; no one can take us away from Your grasp.' Your love for us is too strong and powerful. Can we bring that song to another?

 

 

 

Hebrews 13:5 [Amp]

. . . being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”


 

 

 

Lord, You created us for a purpose; we have a specific space in Your plans, a role to perform, a major part. Am I the leading lady? No, not in the grand scheme, but, my friend, you and I may be just that in a person’s life. If we were created to bring one person to salvation, that would be enough. But Lord it’s not my desire to bring only one to know You. So many need You Lord! Our world is a Sodom and Gomorrah today, but You brought a man to us who can be a worker for You to restore righteousness to our nation. Bless and protect our president, my Lord; many of us will stand in the gap for him.

 

We the people of Your world, of Your Kingdom, Jesus, are willing ambassadors for You. Send us where You know there is need. One time You asked if I would go into the growing darkness for You. I said yes if you will go with me. . . You smiled and reminded me of Hebrews 13:5. Lord, it seems like life is full of so many choices.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My calendar can be bursting at the seams full, but it’s my choice. Time is mine to spend or invest. I’m making the effort to have You, my God, design my calendar of events. I place my days in Your hands. How about you, my friends. Are you satisfied with your calendar? Does it need some spiritual rearranging? Know that I am praying this Scripture over you:

I pray that out of his glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Walk in the Wilderness

Love You Jesus! I give my heart to You. You have everything I could ever want! Help me Jesus to be whom You call me to be. I bow before You feeling that I am no one special that You should grant me anything, but I also know that You love me enough to go through intense pain and suffering to cleanse sin from me. I know I am the daughter of a King whom I worship and adore. Just know that I will for my life to be led by You every moment of every day. Holy Spirit come indwell me with all Your power; lead me that I may live a life pleasing to You, my God!

"Come I will lead you Mary “There are ways thru the wilderness you do not know.”

We walk. Sun gets hotter; dusty ground burns thru my soles; stones on the path try to turn my ankles to pain. We always face attacks of all kinds from the enemy.


Where are we going Holy Spirit, or is it too soon to ask?

“Trust Me Mary.”

The wind begins to blow. It’s a little refreshing until I’m breathing in dust. Rounding a bend I see a hole in the rock face. . . it's old empty tomb. Knowing my Guide, it must be Jesus’ tomb from which He arose. I look in and it's abandoned. There’s no angel, only some old cloth.

He's gone from here. Do I not look forward instead of backward?

You always move forward, Mary, having knowledge of the past.

"How can you see the future if the past is not honored?"

The empty tomb signifies that Jesus rose from the dead; the tomb is empty now. Where is He?

Sitting at the right hand of the Father.

Yes, but more important~ is He also in your heart? Have you invited Him in?

Yes, my Lord, I have invited Jesus to come be Lord of my Life!


The trail continues upward ever upward. Tiredness pulls down my energy; muscles burn from fatigue. It’s a painful journey, and my breathing is beginning to be strained. The sun is setting; day is ending. Jesus is faithful. I see a cave with a small fire lit outside the opening. Rest. Ahh, finally there is rest. I make my way there; dumping off my gear I collapse on a rock and lean back against the wall. Eyes almost closed in sleep; then I ask, “where did this all come from?” I see Holy Spirit ‘face’ smiling in the reflected fire.

You are so good, Holy One! Thank You!

Indeed, He is always with us to provide what we need!

When life grows weary, and pain knocks at the door, what do you do? Remember Jesus and His body bloody from the cruel scourging? Meditate on your own pain? Offer God the pain to use. . .


As my Mom lay close to death, I watched the hospice nurse pull away the long bandage that packed her bedsore. When it was all out I saw bone. Somehow I knew she was offering up this suffering for one of us. How does this work? I don’t know, but she was uncomplaining. When my Dad died, it took awhile. He repeatedly would go, then come back. I asked the Lord why it took so long for him to die? Then He asked me, “When did you ever see your father bow down to anyone?"

True, he was a proud man. Then Father God showed me a vision of my Dad, dressed in a glowing white tunic down on one knee like a knight bowing before a king; it was King Jesus also dressed in the same white tunic. My Dad is with King Jesus now, as is my Mom! Did her suffering offered up as her cross to bear for my Dad help His decision to bow before Christ? I do not know.

Matthew 10:38-39 (NKJV)

And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

How does this Scripture relate to our "life of ease?" Questions today. More understanding required. I love You Lord! Please teach me. And Lord ease the pains of Your children suffering hugely under cruel ISIS.

Clean the counters; put the coffee on; wash my hands; look out the window. Smile. My busyness ceased for a few, as I beheld the sky full of lovely pink tinted clouds. A smile immediately burst upon my face. “O God, You are so good! Thank You for this gift!” We have so much to be thankful for, little things and big things.


Yes, good morning, my Lord. There is none like YOU. When I looked out my window this morning, and saw those pink tinted clouds saying “I bless your day, Mary!” My heart sang, “You are almighty God, Creator of the universe. You are the Alpha and the Omega! You have set the stars in place and named them all. You ordained beauty in our skies and on our earth. There is none greater than You! And You love me?”

Lord not only did You give us Jesus to teach us and die for us, You then sent Holy Spirit to indwell us, and from that close position, teach us, guide us, and protect us. We are Your kids and You love us so much! Because You love us we can trust You; You even wrote us a book, and in it You promised us many things, and You are always true to Your Word! Oh my God! Thank You!


As the years fly by, it becomes more work to remain healthy. The activities of youth have used up some of the body stamina and joint usage. Yes, pain has become a part of life, but it’s ok. I can deal with it, and it is not constant. It just reminds me to be thankful for the wonderful physical condition God designed for me. When nasty C attacked my body, You, Jesus, were right there walking every step of the way with me, bringing me to victory; and You brought out of me a book telling the world how one can go through hard times with joy in their hearts. [Cast Up A Highway]


Loving Father, this morning I want to thank You for mercy and grace. I am so imperfect, but You love me anyway! You continue to work with me, molding me, shaping me into the person You created me to be. Help me fulfill the potential You put in me. Give me words to convict, to open eyes to see. Let Your love flow through me to everyone I come in contact with; pour Your Words through me to hearts today as I work; guide me Holy Spirit today and everyday.

Beauty of Intimacy

Good morning Holy Lord! Thank You for the sunshine that warms our earth, gives us light, and supplies vitamin D as well. You planned everything perfectly. You are an amazing God. Thank You for loving us so well! Thank You for Your indwelling presence! How is it that You chose to first offer Yourself in sacrifice for us human beings, and then to offer Your Presence to live inside of us and be a personal mentor and guide, to comfort us in sorrow, lift us up when we get discouraged, and warm us with Your protection and care?


This morning I am overwhelmed by Your tremendous love, and because You are so great and mighty, it’s hard to comprehend Your deep affection for us. However, I am accepting of Your marvelous gifts because I know You, trust You and love You. You have shown Yourself to me, introduced Yourself and helped to build an intimate relationship between us. How can words describe our relationship? We speak together all the time, and I can tell You my innermost thoughts and feelings. You respond always in a loving way.

To be so close to You, my God, and experience Your love for me is extraordinary! I want to share it with others, but they sometimes are too jaded in their thinking to accept that a mighty God would even desire an intimate relationship with His creation; wherein reality, it was the whole purpose for our creation that there would develop an intimate bond between us. Your heart's desire is to love us, be good to us, and have us love You in return.

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,

may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened;

that you may know what is the hope of His calling,

19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe,

according to the working of His mighty power


Holy Spirit, I thank You for showing me Your love; Jesus died for my sin. I have repented of them, and my Father has forgiven and forgotten them. Now when I come before my God, I’m washed clean and dressed beautifully for the occasion, as it were. But the incredible part is that there is no special occasion, it is just being with Him whenever and all the time. He loves me as His beloved daughter and treats me with that specialness and caring always. He lifts me up.

My friends, do you know our God and the depth of love He has for you? Do you trust in His faithfulness? If not it is time for you to ask Him to open the eyes of your understanding. Or if you have a loved one who does not know how much God loves them, a good prayer I know is Ephesians 3:

May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell

(settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts!

May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,

That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp

with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love]

[That you may really come] to know

[practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ,

which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience];

that you may be filled [through all your being]

unto all the fullness of God

[may have the richest measure of the divine Presence,

Yes my friends, I desire that you have a practical experience of Christ's love and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself. It is such a wonderful gift! He loves us so much!

Altar the Pattern

God is so gracious! It feels like the demon of distraction has run rampant over my life in the last few weeks. I come to my quiet time, and so many thoughts take off in different directions, and my discipline goes down rabbit trails. Like Alice in Wonderland chasing the rabbit always in a hurry, off my mind goes down the hole of imagination or concern searching for things other than my Lord's face.


Today I am determined again to seek His face~ find His heart, like a hound dog, keep my nose to the ground until I rediscover His loving smile, His heart, His will, the stillness of joy that announces His Presence.


A sigh. He is here. I love You, my Lord. I so love being with You, and I get really excited knowing that in eternity I shall walk beside You as we speak of many things. You shall always be my teacher, my beloved Messiah, my devoted Father. And since I have followed Your Word and invited Jesus to be Lord of my life, I know I shall walk eternally with You.

“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world,

that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son,

so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior]

shall not perish, but have eternal life.

My God, You have so lovingly sent Your Holy Spirit to love me and teach me all Your ways. He is always with me and never leaves me. I am eternally connected to You. I can depend on Your protection and wisdom to be with me (when I keep my ears open to hear and obey Your voice.) I love You and choose to give my body as a living sacrifice to You. Use me for Your work!

Lord, I choose to conform myself to You not the world. It’s like a dress pattern. I originally buy a pattern to sew the dress pictured on the front of the package. But then I realize this dress is no longer me; it’s much too immodest and that is not who God made me to be. So I begin adjusting the pattern, lifting here, adding there until the pattern can create a dress more like who I have become, a child of God. The completed project pleases me and my Father! Your grace delivers me whenever I need it and request it Lord. So now I use the Bible as the pattern. When I change my thoughts and imaginings to Biblical wisdom, ! change to conform me to be who You created me to become. Do you follow this pattern also?

Heart of God

Listening to the sounds of the sea, I closed my eyes and saw the waves crashing against the rocks. The ever beating heart of God, they continued their unending symphony. I could feel the mighty beating heart of the Creator filling me with Himself. I did nothing but sit on that rock, sit, eyes closed, listening for what seemed like hours, allowing His rhythm to invade my soul. It filled me up like air pumped into a flat tire so it can completes it’s purpose of carrying me where I need to go. A fresh sense of power and love permeated my spirit, calling me to draw near, a tractor beam drawing my ship into the space station, a meeting with the heart of my God.


 

 

Holy Spirit, being in relationship with You is a heady experience! I love this sense of peace and gentleness that fills the atmosphere! I can drift like a cloud on a sunny day, a time of just be-ing with You. My face holds a constant smile; my body calm as a lake early on a quiet morning, content. At some point I’ll have to move on with the day, but how I wish every moment contained this deep awareness of Your Presence!


 

 

 

 

 

Sometimes my Lord, You gift me with an amazing consciousness of You; it kicks me off my worldly post into the bright light of Your truth and love: a course correction when my ship has meandered away. You are so spectacular in your understanding of me and what I need, and that makes me feel so loved by You! Thank You Lord!

 

My friends, when you are near the sea and hear the never ending crashing waves against the rocks, do you not think of a mighty God? I’ve long seen the sea as His mighty heartbeat. The waters are beautiful, but one must treat them with respect, for they are also dangerous. God loves us and He is a merciful God, but He is also the God of Justice. So do not be arrogant or contemptuous towards Him, but rather be humble and loving to Him, as well as to our brothers and sisters. Then you will live in joy and success.

 

Galatians 6:5-10 (MSG)

4-5 Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.

6 Be very sure now, you who have been trained to a self-sufficient maturity, that you enter into a generous common life with those who have trained you, sharing all the good things that you have and experience.


 

7-8 Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

 

9-10 So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

"No Worries, Mate!"

I’m sleepy as I sit before my computer this morning. If my eyes close, I’ll surely be asleep. Yet Holy Spirit has placed a message inside of me that must be let loose through this keyboard. As the unrest in our world and in our nation is growing, It seems many people are facing 2016 with trepidation. But with full assurance, i can say, “Don’t be anxious! We serve a good God; if You also serve the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, then you can say, like the Aussies, “no worries, mate!”

What gives this confidence? It’s knowing my Lord through His Word. He is all powerful and loves us so much, He will take care of us:

Phil. 4:6–7,

“Do not be anxious about anything

but in everything and by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving,

let your requests be made known to God.

And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

When you know God has made a promise, He is always faithful to fulfill it when we trust Him and obey.

Psalm 91:1-2

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.”

Here it says, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High. . .” so that is a prerequisite for the promise. The Message Bible gives a hint to what that means:

“You who sit down in the High God’s presence,

spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow”,

(or always seeking God, desiring His presence, His ways, His will.)


As we choose to live a godly life, there are many Scriptures that assure us of God’s love and His protection. That’s why I know the future holds nothing fearful for me. When God and I converse together in prayer, I can ask anything of Him with absolute certainty that He hears me and will respond unfailingly with my best interests.



Do you have that deep relationship with our Lord today? You can have it by simply telling Jesus you are sorry for your sins and then accepting Jesus’ gift of salvation; ask Him to be Lord of your life. That is the beginning, for you are being reborn with God’s nature, becoming His Son or daughter, and then allow His new life to begin in you!

Year For Exuberance

This cold weather reminds me of growing up in the Mid West. In the cold of winter, the dark of night would fall early. Sometimes Freddie’s Dad would build a bonfire in their back yard. It drew us kids like a bear to honey. As the blaze grew hotter we would run home to beg a potato from our Moms. Have you ever eaten a fire roasted potato? Yum! Good! We would drop it into the flames and roll it around with a stick so it cooked all over. As the dancing flames kept the cold at bay, our mouths would salivate waiting for our treat to be ready. Nothing seems to excite children like a fire. It’s a pretty mystery when kept in control.


I remember the feelings that surrounded those nights, and the eager anticipation of our potato treat. It seems not much compares with it as an adult. Then I think about the gift of relationship our God offers us. There is nothing to compare with being in His Presence, at peace in quiet joy. True there is not the exuberance of childish glee, but the smiles of our God and the resulting joyful feeling knowing He is with me and loving me, brings a big smile to my face!


It seems today many have forgotten God. Life filled with jobs, worry, cab duties for kid's unceasing activities, house cleaning, meal preparations, clothes washing, relationships if their is time. . . not much 'time' left for meeting with our God and building the most important relationship that exists today. Time, again. It keeps running like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland: “I’m late! I’m late for a very important date!” That was almost a foretaste of today’s life. But for me, I refuse to be captured into a life without my relationship with God.


My body clock usually wakes me between 5:00 and 6:00 AM. This affords me the opportunity for a good meeting with my Creator. There is so much to cover with Him, and He has much to teach me; it seems like a kinda rhythm dominates and it's only minutes we are together.

How I love our sharing time! My friend, try enhancing this new year by setting an appointment each day to meet with Your Heavenly Father who loves you more than you can imagine. Life takes on excitement inside when you come to realize the purpose and direction God has for you. The book Cast Up A Highway can help you to build an intimate relationship with Him.

Psalm 91:1-2

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty

[whose power no enemy can withstand].


2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”


If your life is missing some “childish exuberance”, I challenge you to bring more of God’s love into it! Blessings for an exuberant new year my friends!

Scrape Off the Scabs

All praise to You Lion of Judah! My Jesus, You made it all possible. Joy is possible because of You. Thank You. Holy Spirit, You are here and I don’t know all the divine intricacies of how it all works nor do I need to.

What is, is, and I’m so glad it is! I live life with God indwelling me; now I just need to bring that truth fully into the core reality of my being. . . grab each moment retrieving it, subjecting it to this truth, living it completely as Holy Spirit directs. Sounds like a good plan, doesn’t it?


Reality check! Life is so busy now that once my quiet time with the Lord ends, time takes over~sometimes feels like I’m a robot with time as the controller. How to redirect that? OK. Pressure is off for a little while. Lord, I open myself to Your guidance; help me re-sort my life.

Holy Spirit You are making me more vulnerable to You, burning off the calluses covering the wounds of my life. Every hurtful comment, every painful memory, every rejection, every sore scrape of ‘not good enough’ have scabs or calluses of protection which blocks the love of God from going in and coming out.


 

You are calling for permission to burn these guards off the emotional vulnerability of my soul. You want me to trust You to shield these painful places, to heal them.

Oh God! Leave that room of misery and heartache I’ve worked so hard at sealing up, in Your hands? You want to unseal the door? You say Your love can heal if I permit You to take off the calluses and scabs? You ask me to be vulnerable to you and to trust You.


My God I promised to submit to You, and if You tell me this is the next step, then fearful tho I am, I’ll give my permission to You. It’s scary, but I know if You say it is necessary, and this is the time, then it is. I bow down before You and worship You.

What vulnerable places in you require cleansing and healing? Do you allow God to do it?


Flesh May Howl

It’s about submission. Ahhh! Such rebellion enters the soul at that word. Pride woven into the roots of the flesh stands up and howls! ‘I am great and smart and I submit to no one!’ Oh yes, it is a battle, a battle that must be fought and conquered! From Adam’s sin on, within each of us dwells the tincture of evil, and it must be cleansed for us to grow into who we were created to be. Rebellion lifts its ugly snout to roar in defiance.

Yet also within, the love of our Creator woos us to come and find Him, for He promises a fulfillment that exists nowhere else. A place within each of us houses a spirit that recognizes the call of our God. Eyes within open, ears within begin to hear new things. A hunger for ‘something else, something more’ begins to gnaw at our conscious mind. Pursuing it brings about a paradigm shift, a deeper understanding of life beneath the surface. A planted seed breaks open and begins to seek the light.



Sun rises beginning a new day in the spirit. A heart earnestly seeks truth and finds the treasure of a relationship with the Almighty. Submitting to God’s Word, it recognizes its sinfulness, repents, and asks for Jesus to come live within and redeem it. Joy builds like a pot beginning to boil and overflow.

New life commences ~ as a child born into the world ~ and as a child, the new spirit life within needs nurturing and teaching. Relationship flourishes with contact, so spending time in God's Presence, speaking together each day, waters the spirit and the soul bringing forth blossoms in rich fragrance and loveliness.

As the inner man feasts on the Word, new strength forms with revelation of truth and richer understanding of the enormity of God’s love for us. Heart construction built on righteousness forms a highway headed to God and a phenomenal eternity, carrying us through cities and towns of challenge and instruction, of strengthening and growth that fleshes us out to look more like Jesus each day.

And thus is launched the construction of a new highway conducting us from our heart to eternity in God’s heart.


Journey Deeper!

Deep. The deep. Deepest ocean. Searching for You, my God! Can you not feel a pulling from deep within yourself? Oh God, a magnet is pulling us to You; and You are not found skipping on waves, but in the far down deep currents.

Peter walked on the water; we too are sometimes called to have water walking faith. Nothing is impossible with God, and when Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he walked on the water. Then he allowed himself to be distracted by the waves and the wind, took his eyes off Jesus, and began to sink.

The enemy will also try to distract us from going to You wholeheartedly; he uses lies ~ “you can’t walk on water” “you can’t get rid of this disease, it always kills people as weak as you” “your baby is deformed, imperfect, it will have a life of tragedy and pain.” “this emotional pain is too much, just kill yourself and get rid of it” “God is good He could never love someone as bad as you” “you’ll never get out of this debt, you’ll be homeless with no food to eat”. Listening to lies that entrap us bring discouragement and sometimes worse. Lift eyes to God and His Word to be pulled out of the enemy traps. [see below]

Going into the depths of the ocean we find God His majesty and His love:

But me he caught—reached all the way

from sky to sea; He pulled me out of that ocean of hate,

that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning.

They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me.

He stood me up on a wide-open field;

I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!

Ocean saw you in action, God, saw you and

trembled with fear;

Deep Ocean was scared to death.

Clouds belched buckets of rain, Sky exploded with thunder, your arrows flashing this way and that.

From Whirlwind came your thundering voice,

Lightning exposed the world,

Earth reeled and rocked.

You strode right through Ocean,

walked straight through roaring Ocean,

but nobody saw you come or go.

God is so huge and His love is so immense that we can only get a tip of the tongue taste of Him. He created the universes and put all things in motion. He created us causing our bodies to function in miraculous ways! Atoms and molecules so small yet performing functions that keep us alive. It is His design; that truth is so immense, one can only understand a fraction of it. His love is so incredible; He sent Jesus, His Son, to suffer cruelty and painful death to save us from eternal suffering in hell. Jesus agreed to go through that agony, because He loves us. What greater gift could love give?



Deep. Within ourselves is a depth deeper than the ocean. Our spirit communes with God, spirit to spirit; we must worship God in spirit and truth~ the truly 'who we are' as in John 3:5-7, Romans 8:15-16 [MSG], and these:


Romans 8:15-17 (MSG)

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life.

It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?”

God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are.

We know who He is, and we know who we are: Father and children.


John 4:24 (AMP)

God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).

“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before Him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”

We are spirits who live in a body and have a soul.

As a spirit we have a deep desire to communicate with another spirit; it is critical that we find the Spirit of God. Some fall into the pit of believing evil spirits are fun to communicate with ~ magic, satanism, horoscopes. But those who find truth, find God as the Spirit who helps them all the way through life to live as a joyous people.

He leads us in the ways of truth to discover our purpose in life and the gifts we've been given to fulfill it.


Let us daily seek God, and build deeper intimacy with Him. As we move deeper into our relationship with God, our spirit will rise stronger and more triumphant in our life journey.
