Recently was reminded of a truth that I needed. Don't know about you, but sometimes, especially when I'm tired, the enemy can slip a negative into my soul. Not long ago there was an occurrence that looked in the natural like something was gonna turn out bad. It was almost a certainty, a done deal. But a whisper in my spirit said, "Pray". Then I saw this reminder~

God is not hampered by time and space. Just because something seems to have occurred already, or a decision has been made, that doesn't mean that God can't do anything about it. So my friends, do not stop praying! Keep standing for what you

know is right! Trust God. It can be discouraging if you listen to the devil twisting the situation into hopelessness. Rather stand on the God we know loves us; trust Him to bring all things together for good as He promises.

(Picture above is by pdeddy.com)

Romans 8:28(NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

We all face stormy circumstances along our journey. The key to success is in how we handle them. It's a matter of focus. The enemy tries to make the situation explode into something huge and ugly. Our focus must remain on our immense all powerful God who cradles us in His love. He will work things out for us. So being aware of this, we are able to remain calm and trust our Father.

We were never designed to walk through life alone. When we choose, Holy Spirit will come and dwell inside of us to lead and guide, love and protect us. We are connected to God and with this connection we are never walking alone nor having to make decisions by ourselves. We have God-life always present with us, a constant bond.

Thank You, Lord! You have brought my situation under Your control, and I know all will be well!

Did I Hear Wrong Lord?

Posted on June 23, 2017 at 7:50 AM Comments comments (0)

My heart weeps as I watch him walk away. There is a spirit of enmity in his soul leaving both desolate. Lord, my God, now is the time when I need you so much! Did I not hear You right?

Psalm 63:1

A Psalm of David; when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.

O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You,

my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is.

I can identify with David's feelings here. There seems to be no blessing water in my soul; it’s truly like a desert place.

Long have I waited for the son to come to You. And You told me You had him in hand. Did I hear wrong? The situation feels like it is going downhill in the wrong direction. Is it Your mighty wisdom at working things out for the best in a way my mind is too limited to see? It’s in this hard place that I must trust in You Lord. Now, the time of greatest temptation, I must not lose heart. Now is the time to say, “My Lord I put them in Your hands and I trust You are working it out for their good. I release them to You. My heart is weeping, but You are my God and I shall trust You.”

Galatians 6:9-10 (AMPC)

9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

10 So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers].

The enemy is on a vicious attack in my little family, and I ask God to intervene. Do not allow the pain to tear out their hearts as satan intends; bring Your protection to preserve them Lord. Spiritually, winter has been really cold this year bringing chills and frost to souls, but You are the sun casting gentle Spring warmth of love. Over come You shall! I trust You.

Lord I see hidden deep within myself the place where 'I think the enemy is winning and I’m just waiting for his victory, so I can be totally depressed, just give into it.' That demon gleefully waits for my weakness to bring me down, so like a jackal, he can pounce; but I have the Lion of Judah in me to defeat any craven demon the enemy sends against me. Truth brings this obscured feeling up from the depths and into the light, so it can be demolished. Jesus, I rely on You totally. Your blood flowed to free me from this demon oppression; I accept Your gift and open my heart to the flow of Your life blood to cleanse this demon atrocity away.

I shall not be defeated; Your truth, Lord, shall have the victory!

1 Corinthians 15:57 (ABCE)

But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.

My friends, have you had to deal with depression too? Have you felt discouraged with heart issues where God seems to be silent and not listening? How do you fight your demons of temptation to run from God rather than hold tighter to Him?

World Changers

Once upon a time a little boy was walking down a small town street when a stranger asked him for directions. The little child had trouble directing the man, so he said he would take him there. Too small for discernment, the child got in the car with the man and off they went. Now this story could have many endings.

a. the boy was never seen again.

b. The boy was kidnapped and later found alive or . . .

c. The stranger thanked the boy for directions and let him out at the destination.

Which ending would you write? The mind of today would probably choose a. or b. It is the atmosphere of our present culture; the third ending is what happens in Jesus’ Kingdom~ the one we want to bring to our world, even though today we are much closer to the poisons of the Sodom and Gomorrah towns. Jesus Kingdom has a culture of true love for one another. What do you think it would take for us to get there?

Who can bring change to our world? The only answer is God. But He works through us, you and I. What can one person do?

Last night I saw a short production on Martin Luther King Jr. He changed our world. One man from a persecuted race who believed strong enough in freedom and righteousness went out and made a difference. He was not a perfect man, but God used him in a mighty way.

Abraham Lincoln again was just one man who failed many times, but God used him to free a people. There are many such individuals that you could name, perhaps not so famous, but used of God for divine purposes. Do you know of John G. Lake? Read about his life; he trusted much and was a greatly anointed man of God.

So what about you and I? Do you want to be used of God to bring Jesus’ Kingdom to the earth? Sometimes it’s just a one person at a time journey. Affect one life, and they affect one or two, and they each bring some into the Kingdom, and soon your one success has brought thousands to know the Lord planting gardens of love and grace into our culture.

The enemy is working hard to destroy Jesus’ Kingdom. Families are his biggest target! If he can sew division and offense into a marriage, he can rip families apart. Pray for families, especially if you know one that satan is trying to destroy. My friends, we can make a difference. Carry God’s love with you wherever you journey and share His Word abundantly. We are able!

Habakkuk 3:19 AMPC

The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

Living in the Kingdom directs our steps on His path, and the Holy Spirit is our guide. Tranquility settles within as we rest in Jesus. Fear not! God works in/with us. With Him we can be world changers one step at a time.

A Rough Patch?

Posted on June 16, 2017 at 7:30 AM Comments comments (0)

So you are going through a really rough time right now? The devil is leading you by the nose through its special brand of hell. You don’t know what to do. You’ve called out to God but nothing seems to have changed. Depressive thoughts darken the horizon like threatening storm clouds.

There is an answer. It comes with understanding the spirit world surrounding us all; unseen, it rules our lives. There is good and there is evil. They are not entities in themselves, but they come from 2 sources. God is good and only good flows from Him. The devil, satan, is His enemy and hates God and all of us whom God loves; satan is the source of all evil.

Understanding this leads us to answers. The devil is very clever at deception and lies; he is attacking us constantly from all angles.

God loves us and wants to show Himself strong for us, but we must allow Him access. The Bible gives us God’s instructions for attaining all the potential He put in us at birth. It tells us how to establish a relationship with Him. [For more information on this, see the book Cast Up A Highway.] Having a strong connection with our God puts us and keep us on the right road!

The critical key here is where do you keep your focus? As you are traveling down this rough patch, is your focus on the bumps and potholes. . .

or is your focus on God who promises to be with us always? He is the one who will keep us not just riding in the light of truth, but bring us onto a better path where we’ll find ourself stronger and the road smoother.

Sounds like a simple answer to a painful experience. Nonetheless, it is true. The enemy wants you to believe all the evil stuff happening will go on forever and you cannot change it. But Jesus said, come to Me. . .

Matthew 11:28 [AMP]

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest.

[I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

There is a lot of darkness in the world these days from death, poverty, conflict, murders, diseases. My friends, you can travel through the fiercest storms with joy in your heart, but you have to trust God to bring you through it. (In the book above I briefly talk about what God did in my journey through cancer.)

Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMPC)

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Stand Strong Together

Those who are working evil against our nation will never succeed, for God is much stronger than the enemy. Their atrocious acts are not scaring us, for we know their lies will not benefit them in the end. More and more people are refusing to trust anything that comes out of the “fake news” stations. It’s well known now that it is all lies or facts deceptively portrayed, so cannot be trusted. Truth will win in the end. We stand with President Donald Trump and know he sincerely loves our nation and wants to make it the great nation under God that it was created to be. We trust that God will lead him and his aim is for truth and righteousness for our nation and our allies as well.

Titus 1:5-9

[The Work of a Leader] Teach your people to obey the leaders of their country.

They should be ready to do any good work.

Our President Trump is standing strong despite the vicious attacks’ against him. We stand with him and lift him in prayer. We know our God is faithful and can be trusted to help him accomplish the right and moral deeds necessary to return us to greatness. So be not afraid; those mutinous dissidents do not see the light and cannot bring it to our country, but our President can. Let's stand together in prayer for our rightful government officials that they will not be intimidated, but will stand courageously to perform the job they were elected to do.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (AMP)

First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people, 2 for kings and all who are in [positions of] high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

This is from a GPAN prayer; let us join in:

Father, in the name of Jesus, and according to your Word, we pray for those in authority in our nation. We lift up President Donald Trump, his family, his staff and cabinet members.

We pray that our leaders would stand in Your strength

Thank You, Father, that no weapon formed against them will prosper. In the name of Jesus, they’ll only stand stronger and taller.

Isaiah 54:17 (AMP)

“No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord.

We speak this over every state, every governor, all the positions of authority in our nation, all the levels of authority.

We’re entering into different days and ways and plans,

We pray prosperity over the United States… spirit, soul, body. Every lie shall be exposed!

For those in authority who have accepted the status quo, and accepted to be that, in the name of Jesus, we take authority over that, over that darkness that has kept this country bound, that darkness that has kept this country in place, that has made this country ineffective.

In the name of Jesus, we loose that darkness out of those places; we apply the blood of Jesus upon those offices and upon those places, those seats of power that have been stagnant, who have not taken their positions, the righteous position, the plan of God that is supposed to exist in this hour… no more, no more… it’s time

It’s time to say that every single day they come into those places that they know within them that it is the charge, it is that place within them that they need to reach. It is finding the truth that the darkness tries to hide. Instead of looking from the outside, looking on the inside, knowing what is the righteous law, no longer looking at what is the popular thing to do. It’s time for leadership; it’s time for direction in the name of Jesus~ to allow the direction of the Holy Spirit and the plan of God to be prevalent.

We pray that the power and anointing that the Most High has appointed for such a time as this would be prevalent throughout this nation through every church, through everybody in the name of Jesus within this nation; that they too would no longer just get by because they would recognize that it is a mandate from the Most High.

They use their voices and no longer allow the darkness to enter this country, but they stand up against that darkness and deny it the right to exist; they will take authority over those places that have tried to rise up in this nation!

It is not okay to accept the status quo! It is a demand from the Most High to stand up and be counted. It’s time to take back this nation and secure it for the end time. This nation is important in that plan. In the name of Jesus stand in the spirit, stand against the wiles of the enemy.

Take authority over the principalities and powers and the darkness in high places. Take authority over those things that have tried to come against this nation, this state, against the churches, against things that have been said that should be cast down, put under foot. They can no longer rule and reign; but the Holy Ghost is to rule and reign in this hour. Lift man to allow him to get into a place where he can now move and do the things that the plan of God has created for this hour and this time.

Thank You Father for Your love of our nation and for giving us Your plan and our ability to work with You in prayer.

My friends, I humbly ask that you join with us in prayer for our nation and for every nation of the world. With God all things are possible. Let us believe and trust in our almighty loving and gracious God who sent His Son Jesus to bring all of us in every nation salvation. He will not leave us now! Our God is faithful!

Transformation

Hello my beautiful Lord, God of all creation! I know You are beautiful because creation came from You, and it is lovely! You are most amazing! I can bow before You in worship and You invite me to sit and rest in Your presence. In the resting, I am filled and fulfilled! You are so good! Thank You!!

I’m picturing the rhinoceros I saw on tv the other night. He was big and lumbering with a huge tusk on His nose. Despite His ‘ugliness' he was quite a regal creature with brute strength and a rather nasty disposition. But what is nastier still are the men who kill him for the greed of his tusk. He is Your critter Lord, and you put good in him. So what happened to the good in men? Men were corrupted by satan at the beginning of beginnings, his blood tainted with evil.

But You, Lord, in Your goodness sent Your Son Jesus to redeem mankind; so now we can choose a whole new transformation which erases the evil stain in our nature. We take on God’s DNA, His nature of goodness and love. When we accept Jesus' sacrifice for us, we can also receive the Holy Spirit to live in us. Remember God is One and so Holy Spirit, being One in the Trinity, is God Himself. Our Triune God is not easy to understand with our finite minds, but He is an incredibly awesome God! And you know what’s really magnificent? Our God loves us so much! He desires with all His heart to have a close relationship with us, a one on one, heart to heart relationship.

Can we have an intimate relationship with God? The answer is “Yes”. When one has God living within, having conversations with us, leading us, comforting us, being our mentor, yes, a very close connectedness can be established. Love can grow. He already loves us, and as we come to know Him more and more, we will love Him too. So a beautiful relationship grows. The wonder of it must be experienced to believe how marvelous it is.

If you would like to build this lovely bond with our astonishing Lord God, You can. He desires this bond more than we do, as He loves us dearly already. Ask God to help you. Then repent of your sins, and thank Jesus for taking your punishment for them; ask Him to be the Lord of Your life, and you will have begun the most important journey of your entire existence

You will no longer be that thick-skinned, nasty tempered, critter with its head born down by a huge tusk of greed. This rhino personality will be transformed into one of God’s more lovely creatures. . . a doe, a lion, a giraffe, an eagle. God loves all His creation, but none more than us. Submit to God, Creator of the universe and all it’s majesty, of the earth and all its magnificence.

See how grand is life spent with One who treasures you as a beloved son or daughter!

The book Cast Up A Highway can be a guide in creating your own personal highway.

Done All He Can Do

Isaiah 29:13-16 (MSG)

The Master said:

“These people make a big show of saying the right thing,

but their hearts aren’t in it.

Because they act like they’re worshiping me

but don’t mean it,

I’m going to step in and shock them awake,

astonish them, stand them on their ears.

The wise ones who had it all figured out

will be exposed as fools.

The smart people who thought they knew everything

will turn out to know nothing.”

15-16

Doom to you! You pretend to have the inside track.

You shut God out and work behind the scenes,

Plotting the future as if you knew everything,

acting mysterious, never showing your hand.

You have everything backward. . .

Lord, You put up with so much from us! Then again sometimes You get Your fill, and the dissatisfaction spills over. You don’t want lip service; You don't want fake words meaning nothing. You desire our hearts!

You want and deserve our love, respect and honor! Lord, I bow down to You lifting my hands in praise and worship. You are the Almighty One, Creator of the heavens and the earth; You created me. O God, Your worth is greater than I can even realize or understand. What I know is You love me so much that You, Jesus, came to earth as a human being, giving up Your Divine powers and position.

You came that we might begin to understand Father God as our personal God who loves us dearly! You came to be our substitute in the sin debt mankind owes God; You paid it off entirely. Now we come freely to You as new people, natures cleansed of sin. [Picture made @pdeddy.com]

When we repent and accept You as our Savior, inviting You to be Lord of our lives, we are transformed into new creatures. Our hearts are open to You, desiring to be the best we can be, and wanting to love, obey, and please You as our loving Lord.

Then You also will send Holy Spirit to indwell us so we have our own personal Guide, Mentor, Comforter, Counselor who also loves us. He came to Jesus disciples on the first Pentecost in the upper room. He now comes to us helping us in understanding the Word and other mysteries of life. He is our helper, so we never have to walk alone.

Our God loves us and desires all of us to be with Him for all eternity. But it’s our choice. He has done all he can do for us, and now it’s up to us to make the decision to accept Jesus gift or not. Rejecting Jesus and what He did is rejecting God, and will prevent us from ever enjoying our eternity in heaven.

My friends, if you have not yet repented of your sin and accepted Jesus as Lord of your life, do it today. I want to meet you in heaven! And we never know when our last hour on earth will come.

50th Wedding Celebration

Posted on July 13, 2016 at 6:40 AM Comments comments (0)

How many times can I say “God is good?” I know, but He is so good!! The kids threw a 50th Wedding Anniversary party for us yesterday. It was awesome! There were about 70 friends there who we’ve had over the 50 years. So many memories! So many connections! It was a true joy to be surrounded by them all in one room to celebrate with us.!

God had been working on my heart to give a salvation message at the party. It was a scary concept, but as I became more convinced that it was what God wanted, I said OK, and Holy Spirit and I wrote it out.

Now the enemy did not want that to happen; he would tell me ‘You really should not do it. What will your friends think?’ Then on the day before the party, we found out that the place had no sound equipm“Lord, if You want me to speak the message, then I need a microphone.“ He put the idea of a Disc Jockey into my mind. As Bill and I headed out to the ent, no sound boards, nothing to play music. . . no microphone to speak into. I said, gym, my original ‘panic’ mellowed to a trust in God. While at the gym, I asked if anyone knew a DJ? Well it turns out one of the workers I had never met before, was a wedding planner. So I asked her for a name of a good, reasonably priced, DJ. She immediately came up with a name. I called him and left a message.

A little while later he returned the call and we got set up for the party. I know God set it up. He wanted us to have Ben. I don’t know all the reasons why, but Ben felt it was a special engagement just for him too. We blessed him with his fee; and perhaps that was part of it; he also really liked the salvation talk I spoke. Young Ben was blessed by the people and the friendships he watched as the day progressed. He loved the music we chose. It became a win~win situation all the way around, and we gave God the glory!

Before we renewed our vows with our Pastor, I spoke to the group. In a nutshell~ I told them that we love them so much and how God loves us all uniquely, and how we wanted to spend our eternity in heaven with them; however one needed to accept Christ’s gift of salvation before that could happen. Revelation tells about the end of time on this earth, and those who disdain God and reject Jesus will end up in the lake of fire.

*********************************************************

And with you, my friends, I also ask you to choose life:

Deuteronomy 30:19

I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you

that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses;

therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.

*********************************************************

What a whirlwind it was with so many dear friends from past years blended with the new ones that are so special to us in recent years. It felt like our history passed before our eyes in the people who were there, for each person, each couple, brought wonderful memories with them. It became riding a train through our past, and each stop opened up a vista of good times. It is hard to put into words, but it was a marvelous party. We are so thankful for our 3 daughters who despite there own busy schedules, managed to plan this delightful day!

We are so thankful to our God Who planned it with them and filled the atmosphere with His love and joy. He was there enjoying the party too, because He loved seeing us having such a beautiful time, and He got the glory!

Yes, He is a good God who loves us each uniquely. Come my friends, if you have not yet chosen to accept Jesus as your Savior, take the step today! It will improve your life on earth and guarantee your eternity is heaven! I love you and can't wait to meet you on the other side!

Facing Fear Fully With God 7

Posted on July 8, 2016 at 5:50 AM Comments comments (0)

As the next morning began to dawn, I awoke with this Scripture going through my mind:

Isaiah 58:8

Then shall your light break forth like the morning,

and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life)

shall spring forth speedily;

your righteousness (your rightness, your justice,

and your right relationship with God) shall go before you

[conducting you to peace and prosperity],

and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

A feeling of peace fills my spirit as dawn breaks the darkness. I relish the warmth of my sleeping bag and say my thankfulness to God for His protection through the night. As the drowsiness lifts, a deep desire for the last day’s adventures to begin, gets me up and dressing warmly. I'm on my way navigating the continuation of yesterday’s trail and it's not too stressful, but rounding a corner and seeing the challenge ahead slows me down a bit.

This last day was calling me to walk a pointed ledge with no wall on either side. A little ball of fear rushed up the hill and jumped into the pit of my stomach. I have never liked heights, but to this point I had done ok with Holy Spirit’s encouragement and closeness. This next trek was way beyond scary in my imagination.

James 4:7-9 (MSG)

So let God work his will in you.

Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper.

Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time.

Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life.

Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out.

The fun and games are over

This Scripture led me to look at what was going on here, and so decided I might benefit by a rest, a bit of breakfast, and having a little chat with God. [No procrastination here, oh no. :)]

Speak the truth to God: “Lord I’m sorry for not trusting You fully here. I know You are faithful, but this is really hard for me. I repent, Lord, that I’m allowing fear to cause this terror in me. Lord, I humbly bow down to You and put myself in Your hands, and I know You will help me."

Sure enough, Holy Spirit showed me verse 10 of James 4:

James 4:10 (AMP)

Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance]

in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you

[He will lift you up,

He will give you purpose].

He is so faithful and knows just what I need!! This verse reinvigorated my spirit, and so the purpose of the path took my hand and pulled me along. As I reached the stone that would lift me up to the last treacherous climb to the pinnacle, butterflies started flying around my middle again. Fear is the enemy! I shall not tolerate fear! My God is with me and He will lift me up! Took a deep breath and focusing on the ridge I must walk to complete the trial, I ‘saw’ Jesus waiting for me to help me; thus completely encouraged, I kept moving upward to Jesus. . .

This verse came to mind:

Revelation 3:10

Because you have kept the word of My endurance

[My command to persevere], I will keep you [safe] from the hour of trial,

that hour which is about to come on the whole [inhabited] world,

to test those who live on the earth.

This was my test. I completed it all the way and lifted my hands to praise God in exhilaration! My friends, our lives all have God given purpose, and He will help us fulfill that purpose if we invite His help. More trials are coming to our lives; let us all be sure to hold onto the Master, our Savior, who gave His life, shed His blood for us.

Accept His gift from Jesus, and receive all the inspiration, encouragement, and enlightenment needed to pass your life journey of testing. Then we will joyfully meet in eternity.

Faithful Is His Promise 4

Posted on June 29, 2016 at 6:40 AM Comments comments (0)

Marvelous pure mountain air fills my lungs, enlightens my spirit and leads me into morning prayer~

Praise You, my Holy Spirit! At the commencement of this 2nd day on the mountain, I begin by giving this day to You. I give me to You; You want my heart. I want Your heart. I bow before You, My Lord and King and offer my mind, my body, my spirit to serve You, to love You; because it’s not just the doing, it’s the being. I want to be with You; I desire Your Presence with me all the time.

“Mary, I Am always with You. I shall never leave you. I’ve got your back. I go out in front of you to prepare the way. Never fear. I’ve got you. I hold you safely in the palm of my hand.”

Thank You Lord!

Your Word anchors me Lord. Thank You for this Word of Scripture:

Hebrews 6:13-16 (MSG)

God Gave His Word

When God made his promise to Abraham,

He backed it to the hilt, putting his own reputation on the line.

He said, “I promise that I’ll bless you with everything I have—

bless and bless and bless!

” Abraham stuck it out and got everything

that had been promised to him.

When people make promises,

they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them

so that if there is any question that

they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up.

In reading these verses, I remembered shopping at a Costco store last week. They were selling pillows, and I had been looking for a good one. They were talking very highly of the virtues of this memory foam pieces mixed with bamboo pillow. They said it was backed up by the Costco guarantee, which I know to be good. Even though they were more expensive than I’d normally pay, I bought them mainly because they were backed by Costco’s guarantee.

As soon as I read the above Scripture saying: When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up.

I knew just what the verse was referring to and I could relate. God’s Word is a guarantee and there is none better! As we grow, our understanding of God’s Word grows, and our trust in God increases.

Verse 19 also grabs my attention:

. . . 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

I like this verse 19, because I find His Word does 'anchor' my soul. I don’t know about you, but sometimes my faith can have a tendency to wander off course leaving me feeling weak. Now I know how to counteract it when this attack comes. It involves talking to Holy Spirit and asking Him for a Scripture to help. He always comes through for me. Scriptures will take hold of my soul and pull it back into line.

The soul is the mind, will and the emotions. Sometimes it’s the mind that gets derailed, occasionally the will, but often the emotions. The enemy is a master manipulator of emotions, speaking hurtful lies and deceptions into the soul, and thus emotions are often his target.

That is why I am so diligent to meet with my Lord and Master each morning, for He knows me so well; He will throw the anchor overboard when I need to stop and rest in His Presence. He anchors my soul keeping me close to Himself. His Word is the food that nourishes me, keeping my whole being intertwined with Jesus. It weaves who I am with Jesus through the power of the captivating Holy Spirit. I become one with God in the sense that Jesus used in John 17:

John 17:20

“I do not pray for these alone,

but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;

21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You;

that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them,

that they may be one just as We are one:

23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one,

and that the world may know that You have sent Me,

and have loved them as You have loved Me.

This Scripture does indeed fill me with boldness for the day ahead. No matter what it holds, I shall overcome, because God loves me and i am one with Him.

Time to head out on the trail again. . .

Three in One

Holy Spirit, thank You for Your awesome love for me! Ever since I realized that You really love me, deeply, that You cherish me, I melt at the thought of You indwelling me. As we converse each day, I find myself trusting You more and more. You teach me to trust You, and when I do, You always come through! Then as if that isn’t enough, You verify it afterwards!

For example, I had to pray for the nations in front of the whole church body Sunday. I did not know the subject until minutes before I found myself in front of everyone. So I just trusted You to give me the words, and You did. Then this week I find confirmation of Your words in the GPAN letter that I read. It was close to word for word. I felt You smiling as I came to realize what You had done! You are so fun! You have a sense of ‘fun’ in You, and I have to laugh!

I am so grateful for Who You are!

My friends, if You have accepted Jesus gift of life. and have not yet been introduced to the Holy Spirit, I encourage You to ask God for an introduction. He is the third person of the Blessed Trinity, and He loves you too. Having a personal relationship with Him melds the Trinity together. You talk to One, You are talking to all at the same time. I find because of my humanness, it is difficult to get my "head" around my 3-in-1 God, but getting to know and relate with each Person of the Trinity individually unites the whole.

God is the Father, my Creator, who loves me, His daughter, who cherishes me as a father does his own child, only on an even deeper, more perfect level. Yes, my mighty Creator God who is more powerful than and protects me from any evil, takes my hand and walks me though the dangerous paths of life, He’s my Dad; and He sends Holy Spirit.

John 14:26

But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby),

the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name

[in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf],

He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember

everything that I have told you.

Jesus, my Lord and King of Kings, loves me so much that He gave His life for me. He went through inconceivable torture to pay my sin debt and open freedom's door for me. Now I freely choose to serve Him as my King and be released from satan’s abhorrent sin prison. When accepting Jesus as Lord of my life, I am reborn with God’s DNA, His nature of love. All because Jesus loves me enough to die for me. He died for you too, ya know. Then He rose from the dead, defeating death itself.

Holy Spirit, You are the last Person I was introduced to~ when I came to know that You love me personally, that I am Your beloved too, a new joy filled me. You are with me always! You never leave me!

Hebrews 13:5 AMP

. . . for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support,

nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]

Holy Spirit, thank You for being always with me. We talk throughout the day and You tell me where to go and what to speak. You always point me to Jesus reminding me of what He said. You are His Spirit. You are my guide. And when I get into rocky terrain, You smooth out my path and I move forward with confidence. Thank You my Holy One! I bow before You in worship and thanksgiving!

My Lord and my God, my Three-in-One, I bow before You in love and worship and praise!

Have You Got Wimpy Faith?

This morning I was reading in Luke and came across the story of the paralyzed man whose friends could not carry his stretcher through the dense crowd surrounding, Jesus, so they climbed onto the roof of the house, removed some tiles, and lowered his stretcher through the hole they created in the roof down to where Jesus was preaching.

Jesus saw and responded like this:

Luke 5:20-25

When Jesus saw their [active] faith

[springing from confidence in Him],

He said, “Man, your sins are forgiven.”

Of course the Pharisees in the crowd objected,

and so Jesus healed the man to show:

24 But, in order that you may know that the Son of Man (the Messiah)

has authority and power on earth to forgive sins”

—He said to the paralyzed man,

“I say to you, get up, pick up your stretcher and go home.”

And he did.

Jesus had/has the power and authority to forgive sin and heal. So as I began to examine this Scripture, I asked myself about the depth of my belief. In the deepest part of me do I believe that Jesus will heal when I pray?

In the beginning of verse 20 Jesus said, “When Jesus saw their [active] faith [springing from confidence in Him], He said, “Man, your sins are forgiven.”

He saw their “active faith springing from confidence in Him”.

Do I have active faith?

What is active faith?

Thesaurus gives these words as synonyms:

  • vigorous,
  • vital,
  • dynamic.
  • Is my faith “vigorous” “vitally-alive” and “dynamic” (which means: fiery, bold, passionate)

Do these words describe my faith? Or is it

  • lack luster,
  • wimpy, and
  • passive

Wow! This does put truth to the test. How much confidence do I have in Jesus to heal now? This is a real truth test, and I’m not sure my faith scores very high.

So how do I work on my faith becoming more vigorous? I’d like to share one way I believe my own personal faith has become more bold. Since I was a small child I’ve learned that I serve a triune God~ three persons in one God=Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I am~ body, soul, and spirit~ similar, but not the same.

Father God drew me personally to Himself first, and I came to know Him as my Creator God who is a true loving Father. Like a child I could crawl up in His lap and get a hug anytime I needed it.

Then I came to have a relationship with my Savior, Jesus. I am so thankful to Him for what He did out of love for me. He took on harsh, humiliating, and cruel suffering to pay my sin debt. I could never have stood it, so He did it for me. How much can a man love his brother but to lay down his life for him? Well Jesus did this and more. The physical pain and mental, emotional torture as well were on Him, and He took it for me. I am cleansed of my sin thanks to Jesus! I am so thankful and I love Him!

Next I found that Holy Spirit is indeed a Person, not with a physical body, but He is the third person of the Trinity. He has characteristics like any person does with ability to love, be hurt, and help those beloved ones. Last year I "met" Holy Spirit and found that He really really loves me, and He will never ever leave me. I talk to Him all day long. Our relationship is dynamic and vigorous. He leads me and guides my steps; He also convicts me, so I can become more as Father God designed me to be. He is like the "guardrails" (like the book says) that keep me on my highway to the heart of the Father.

Recently Holy Spirit has been giving me guidance when I pray for people, and then I know what I pray shall come to be, as Jesus promises come true. I'm looking forward to my faith growing more dynamic, and it is Holy Spirit who leads me through this process. How truly complex and amazing is our God! He loves us so much! Have you experienced His goodness in your life recently? How good He is!

Face to Face With God

Posted on February 17, 2016 at 1:30 AM Comments comments (0)

Was reading GPAN the other day and one thought had pastel colors around it; that is, it registered in my spirit:

We don’t have a long distance relationship

We are in a face to face experience with You – God Almighty, Creator of the heavens and the earth

The one Who is Love, the One Who gave love

The One who is an eternal God, a covenant keeping God

What a great concept! We truly are in a face to face relationship with our Almighty God! Remember how Moses was “a friend “ of God? That is our relationship only with us it is deeper. We can have Holy Spirit, Creator of the Universe indwelling us. We can have Him as our mentor, our guide, as lover of our soul! The way is through Jesus Who chose to come to earth to teach us about God, and to give up His life for us. Man’s sin nature could never get us into heaven, because God and sin can never exist close together~ it would be like fire and paper. Bring paper too close to fire and paper is destroyed.

Jesus died as a sacrifice for mankind. In His dying as man and Son of God, He was able to pay off our sin debt. When we personally accept His great love gift to us, we actually have a transformation; our sin nature is washed out of us and we receive a God nature of righteousness. We may still make mistakes, but when we see them and repent, they disappear. So we are enabled to grow into the person God created us to be, and that includes building a connection to God that continually develops into an ever stronger bond.

Christ in us~ how magnificent a life we can have! Our love and obedience to Him brings us into His Kingdom, where we are His representatives, His ambassadors on earth. Living life with His grace and power becomes a fulfillment we can find no place else. My friends, do not underestimate the wonder and joy of this life. His book, the Bible, tells us the history of God’s love for us and demonstrates so much more. I recommend that you begin to read it regularly and prayerfully if you don’t already. The Book of John in the New Testament is a great place to begin to find a connection.

Finally, know that in this world where the enemy is working to stir confusion up like a witches cauldron, we can have peace in our souls.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]

Jesus also promises us in John 17 that we can have His joy. (In my book Cast Up A Highway there is an event I share from my cancer journey where Jesus joy filled me and no fear could even get close).

The Bible carries many promises to those who choose to accept Jesus and live by His ways. It's a good choice!

Holy Spirit, The Person

January already gone! Wow! Well, tell you true, I really believe that for this new year to be enjoyed, it is going to require more intimacy with the Holy Spirit of God. These end time days mean the challenges will grow stronger; the enemy is working harder to tempt and distract us. He sows seeds of discontent and jealousy. To be strong and able to read enemy deceptions correctly, it requires that we maintain a close deep relationship with Holy Spirit.

This is a quote from Global Prayer Alert Network: It is important that day by day we should be full of wisdom and faith, and full of the Holy Ghost, acting by the power of the Holy Ghost. God has set us here in the last days, these days of apostasy, and would have us be burning and shining lights in the midst of an ungodly generation.

This is my desire too: I am hungry that I may be more full, that God may choose me for His service. And I know that the greatest qualification is to be filled with the Spirit. The Holy Spirit has the divine commission from heaven to impart revelation to every son of God concerning the Lord Jesus, to unfold to us the gifts and the fruit of the Spirit.

                                                                                                        (Acts 6:8)

“Stephen, full of faith and power,

did great wonders and miracles among the people”

Who or what is Holy Spirit? Do you realize the entirety of Who He is? One deeply spiritual teacher from the past, A W Tozer, wrote about Holy Spirit:

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A PERSON. He is not enthusiasm. He is not courage. He is not energy. He is not the personification of all good qualities, like Jack Frost is the personification of cold weather.

Actually, the Holy Spirit is not the personification of anything. He is a Person, the same as you are a person, but not material substance. He has individuality. He is one being and not another. He has will and intelligence. He has hearing. He has knowledge and sympathy and ability to love and see and think. He can hear, speak, desire, grieve and rejoice. He is a Person.

Another anointed teacher, Smith Wigglesworth, wrote:

“The Holy Ghost is the executive of Jesus Christ and the Father. If you want to know the mind of God, you must have the Holy Ghost to bring God's latest thought to you and to tell you what to do.

There is a place where God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, reigns supreme in our lives. The Spirit reveals, unfolds, takes of the things of Christ and shows them to us, and prepares us to be more than a match for satanic forces.

It is possible to hear and yet not conceive the truth. It is possible to read the Word and not share in the life it brings. It is necessary for us to have the Holy Spirit to unfold the Word and bring to us the life that is Christ. We can never fully understand the wonders of this redemption until we are full of the Holy Spirit.

We grow from glory to glory. Not all understanding is given to us at once. I had a wonderful experience last year~ I realized that the Holy Spirit, as a person, loves me like Jesus and the Father do. Once this truth invaded my spirit, a whole new relationship with Holy Spirit developed; I was able to love Him and experience the love He holds for me. How awesome to have His loving presence with me constantly!

My friends, seek to know Holy Spirit intimately, and you will also personally experience the wonder of His love.

The Crystal Ball

Posted on January 27, 2016 at 5:45 AM Comments comments (0)

While indulging in my favorite endeavor, reading, (especially the Word of God) I received an insight. it came like a dream story: There once lived a boy who was given a precious crystal ball more beautiful than anything he had ever seen; it glowed with refracted lights in bright rainbow colors. It came with instructions to take precious care of it and it would bring joy forever. He carried the ball everywhere, until one day the boy became fascinated by a new electronic game he got for his birthday; and he set the ball on a shelf and went off with his new toy. The lovely crystal ball became dusty and gradually its lights dimmed.

As the boy grew he acquired more electronic toys and they captured his eyes so that he no longer saw inner beauty in others, and the games imprisoned his heart so that his mind became addicted to them and they became his desire. His life walk was beside other boys, his ‘friends’ who also were addicted. He sat around playing games allowing the games to feel real; and the games captured his imagination.

The boy’s parents found the crystal ball sitting in his room and remembered how their child loved it and how happy he always was when he carried it with him. Then they truly saw how the electronics had imprisoned their son’s mind; he was not the same boy. Mom took the crystal ball off the shelf, polished it up until the rainbow lights began to shine not only in the ball but in her heart as well. She showed it to her husband who also grew to love it as his heart responded to the light within. Now they realized the need to speak to their son, but they knew only a greater power than the world knows could rescue him from the enemy's den.

The powerful inner light of God, (Who is the Holy Spirit), was now living within the parents, and they began to pray for their son and for a way to deliver him. Only God can change a heart, and as He heard the inner pleading of the Mom and Dad, He began to soften the boy’s heart, so when the boy saw the crystal ball shining in beauty, his early memories of love began to flood his mind, until he desired to have the ball again. The video games and electronics faded away into the past.

The dream of the crystal ball was of course a metaphor for the Holy Spirit Who is God’s gift to us. Holy Spirit indwells us:

John 14:16-17

16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper

(Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby),

to be with you forever—

17 the Spirit of Tr.uth, whom the world cannot receive

[and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him,

but you know Him because He(the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you

We have the Holy Spirit, third person of the Trinity, indwelling us~ we have God Himself living in us. God Himself with His power, His love, His wisdom, to help us live as the complete person we were created to be. He helps us accomplish the purpose for which we were created. He guides our journey through life keeping us safe and holding us firmly in His love. What an amazing gift!! Are you experiencing the inner joy of Holy Spirit making His home in You?

The Answer

Even though sometimes I look at my personal problems, there are also huge ones beyond my own (which shrink in comparison). Just look at the world's troubles, and then consider our nation and how enemies within seem to be systematically tearing it down.

Lives of so many men and women heroes have built the foundation of our country, our lives. Strong Bible believing Christian people, whose writings bless us with their wisdom, sacrificed much that this nation be born. However, termites of liberalism have been eating away at our foundations and left us with a weak worn down humanism that is slowly destroying what our founders built. But God. . .

But, God was heavily involved in creating our great nation, and He’s not finished with us yet. I bow down and worship my Father who sent Jesus, His Son, to pay for our sins, so we could know Him and have His aid in our lives here on earth, and enjoy His blessings of eternity when we die. The Father's greatest goal is to bring more souls to know His Son, Jesus Christ, so they will not spend eternity in hell.

[We're invited to join with God in this endeavor. Are You willing? See Friday's blog.]

Found this in a GPAN record:

Jesus declared an end to separated man’s religious striving to build a ladder back to God. God Himself has donned flesh and bone and blood and condescended to fallen men and willingly lain down on a cross.

“It is finished!” we hear Him cry aloud. Then He slowly, reverently, and with victorious humility bows that thorn-pierced head. Yes, of course, He bows now. There is nothing left to do but exhale a prayer “Into Thy hands I commend my spirit.”

But Jesus didn’t end it there. He sent Holy Spirit to be our helper~

Jesus sent Holy Spirit, as our mentor and guide.

The Holy Spirit is not a force or a power. He is the third Person of the Trinity. He is co-equal with the Father because He is the Spirit of the Father. All that the Father is, He is, for He is the essence of the Father. He is co-equal with Jesus, the Son of God, because He is the Spirit of Jesus. There is no attribute of the Father or of Jesus that is not found in the Person of the Holy Spirit. All the love, grace, mercy, kindness, wisdom, knowledge, and power of the God-head is invested in Him.

So that is our means to rise above every obstacle, every problem. Each day can be a victory when we call upon Holy Spirit to live His life in us. No matter how a day begins, it has the potential to end in triumph! When viewing problems, or fears in the future, always look at it through the lenses of our God, the God who loves us, the God of the impossible!

Dumptruck Full of Junk

I realize there is a spirit of gloom trying to invade me and with some success. I wanted to discover what was going on, so I asked Holy Spirit for enlightenment. He took me to a commentary by Charles Spurgeon:

"Mark the grand characteristic of true prayer, “In the Holy Spirit." Only the prayer which comes from God can go to God. We must shoot the Lord's arrows back to Him. That desire which He writes upon our heart will move His heart and bring down a blessing".

Perhaps that is what has been putting a Linus cloud over my head~ I’m not hearing Your desires, Lord. Also intertwined is purpose, purpose for my life. I’ve been fighting off attacks of despondency, and that’s not like me to be vulnerable to them. Holy Spirit please enlighten me. I’ve lost hope~when did that happen? Feels like my wagon’s been overturned. Help me Holy Spirit to right it securely again please:

Mary, where is your passion? Where is your fire?

I don’t know Lord. It feels like it’s been extinguished.

Yes, Mary, you’ve been allowing the things of the world to crash into your mind and your heart. They feed you negative self talk about who you are and your self worth. You have not been focusing on Me, so they are able to put out your fire. How do I define you Mary? What mission have I given you?

You call me your beloved daughter. You gave me a mission to blog to carry your Gospel around the world. You do with the blogs as You will putting the focus and power in them. You help me write them. But Holy Spirit, I feel like they have lost power~ it’s because I have written them without Your input? When the numbers go down I get discouraged. Holy Spirit guide me.

Mary, stop trying to DO and let Me. You do not need to rely just on yourself; rather rely on ME. Put yourself in MY care; rest in Me. And do not look to the world for your encouragement.

Philippians 1:6 AMP

And I am convinced and sure of this very thing,

that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

Thank You for Your Word Lord!

And the business Lord?

It is the same. Trust in ME.

Ok Lord, This dump truck load of negative refuge burdening my shoulders, I dump into hell. I cast it off and don the robe of righteousness My Jesus died to give me. This is who I am, a servant of righteousness following You.

Thank You Holy Spirit! I can smile again!

Thrill Seekers

Posted on June 24, 2015 at 7:55 AM Comments comments (0)

Excited by high adventure, thrill seekers are losing their lives this year. Our rivers are roaring down the mountains with the melting snow from a very wet Spring. Watching flood waters dash over rocks and careen past the shore causes eyes to open wide and a “wow” on the lips. Unfortunately, there are those souls who take it as a challenge and choose to enter into the violent waters in tubes or boats and are swept away, some to their death.

Charleston, NC saw violent death as well. But these 9 souls have entered their eternity in heaven and are full of joy today. Loved ones are forgiving the murderer. The others challenging death cause me to wonder~ where are they today? They have wasted their future life for momentary thrills that must have turned into fear at the end. Is their eternity going to be pain and anguish? If they have rejected Jesus’ gift of salvation, then yes it will.

Whether you have a thrill addiction or an emotional need for caution in your personality, seek Jesus and admit you are imperfect, you do sin, repent, and ask Jesus to be Lord of your life. Having God at the core of your being brings a paradigm shift in your life perceptions. All things appear new! It’s consequence is an assurance that your life has meaning and purpose and your death will simply be a passing through a door into a place of new challenges, joy and fulfillment.

Holy Spirit comes with acceptance of Jesus as Lord of one’s life; He leads, guides, protects, comforts, represents. . .

John 14:16

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter

(Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby),

that He may remain with you forever—

Holy Spirit stays with us constantly~ God indwelling us. We are raised to a whole new level of living! Death has no hold on us, because we no longer fear it. Death becomes simply a move to a new more desirable location. My friends, I write this to present a better way of life ending in an eternity with a God who loves us wholly and forever! Build a deeper relationship with this God here and now!

Are you an adrenalin junky? Have you tried the ultimate thrill of having a supernatural relationship with the God who designed the universe?

Time of Choice Is Here

Posted on June 19, 2015 at 6:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Good morning Lord! You are God, mighty Creator and supreme above all else! You are beautiful, as we can observe in Your wonderful creation from the vast heavens to the tiny incredible cells in our bodies, from sky forms to the marvelous animals inhabiting the earth. There’s also seeds and their awesome potential~ little brown balls turn into colorful bouquets of exquisite flowers. Then there are humans. The ones who follow You have hearts like Yours full of kindness and love. Your salvation plan changes us from captives of the world, the flesh, and the devil into Your true children with Your DNA, Your nature, wanting nothing more than to please You. You are an amazing magnificent God and I love You.

You sent Jesus to save us. You, Jesus, Son of God, went through awful pain and suffering to pay off our sin debt and cover us in Your blood that we may have wonderful fellowship with Father God. Then You sent the exquisite loving Holy Spirit to indwell us as our teacher, mentor, guardian, comforter, counselor; and O how He loves us! He leads us into all truth. My amazing Lord God, magnificent in Glory, the Shining Star, the Almighty King of Kings, Lord of Lords!

1 Chronicles 16:10–12 (Amp.)

“ Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!”

(11) “ Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually!”

You have a purpose for every life, and I offer my whole being to Your plan and purpose. Lead me, guide me Holy Spirit to where the Father wants me to be. I ask for Your strength to do all Your will!

Give me words to speak to all whom I encounter today. Its time for people to come into Your arms, Father God, into salvation. It’s time to leave the things of the world behind. Time is short! Let Holy Spirit be manifest in our churches and in our communities. Book of Acts days are here again. Come Holy One, let us see Your works upon the earth, let us do Your works in the earth! It is time!

My friends, have you seen time speed up? Are days flying by now? God’s timing is in control. In these last days we shall see amazing miracles; some of us may have Holy Spirit work through us to apply His supernatural touch of healing and other incredible deeds. It’s time to increase our fellowship with God, to go deeper into our relationship with Him. Plan hours if possible, reading the Word and burrowing into His spectacular love. Be more in touch with the spiritual than with the world. Then see how your perspective changes; your eyes will see anew; your heart will know God; you’ll enjoy the peace and love of His presence.

Do not tarry! Come to know the depths of Him so you can share His love with friends and family. The days of choice are speeding towards us. Choose life or choose death. Choose Jesus and a blessed eternity for yourself and loved ones, or choose to reject Him and have an eternity of pain and anguish. If you do not share, what does that say about you? Coward? Do you really want to be in heaven and deny your loved ones the same opportunity? They’ll spend forever and ever in hell with satan who hates them. Take courage and speak out the truth of Jesus' gift of salvation. Allow Holy Spirit to work through you and help you know how to share truth!

Who do you know that needs to hear the Gospel?

Challenge the Enemy's Plan

Posted on June 17, 2015 at 5:10 AM Comments comments (0)

Psalm 46:10 AMP

Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God.

I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!

Who but our Almighty Creator God could dare make a statement like that, and we know it as truth! No matter how strenuously the enemy works, it will never be able to displace the mighty Lion of Judah! He shall be exalted among the nations and exalted in the earth. Those of us who know and understand our Lord God realize the truth. He shall be exalted!!

I was in an adult ed class the other night. We were asked to go around and say what we are thankful for. When it came to my turn, I said, “I am thankful for the Holy Spirit who indwells me and helps me live my life as my guide and mentor.” The atmosphere grew quiet with tension as though everyone was in shock. Later one woman came up to me and liked what I said, but spoke in a furtive kind of way like she did not want anyone to hear.

The enemy is attempting to remove God from every area of our society from our schools to our government. We stand back and allow it to happen. What are we? Afraid to shout out “Jesus is Lord”? Are we fearful of being known as a Christian? Can we not stand up to school boards that want to accept textbooks that lie? Can we not voice our Christian ideals in public? That’s the enemy’s goal~ to muzzle us. Will you bow down to it?

As a child I was known as a ‘gutsy little thing’. Not much scared me and I could be outspoken when I believed I was right. Perhaps that refusal to be intimidated is a trait God placed in me. Just look at His promise we can claim:

Psalm 18:2 (NLV)

The Lord is my rock, and my safe place,

and the One Who takes me out of trouble.

My God is my rock, in Whom I am safe.

He is my safe-covering, my saving strength, and my strong tower.

I recall a blog I wrote earlier where Jesus asked me if I would be willing to take His light into the encroaching darkness. I said “Yes”, not lightly for the spreading darkness was very intimidating. But so long as I had Him with me, I would go wherever He sends me. Our God has need of all His children to stand for His righteousness. Let us not be afraid, but speak out the truth and act with integrity in obedience to the Word of God.

Are you spending time each day in deep communication with Him? If not, it’s time to begin building your relationship. Then you will see Him as your strong tower; your closeness with God will be a stanchion to support your faith though every situation.

When was the last time your faith was challenged? Are you needing to strengthen your faith during these critical times?
