Cure for Insecurity

If you watch TV, at some point you must have seen those TV commercials advertising laundry detergent? See two stained shirts and with XYZ detergent the stains come out in the wash totally gone and "our little boy’s shirt is like new". Well that brought to mind how our life works under Jesus. The other day I was journaling and Holy Spirit convicted me that what I was writing revealed pride in my heart~ sinful pride.

So I repented and began praising God and asking Him to:

“Shine through all the dross, the garbage covering my soul. Cleanse me. . .  ”Then it hit me~ Oh, You already did that Jesus, on the cross. You cleansed all my sin away. I start afresh, new, a renewed person without stain or blemish. Along with that gift comes the automatic cleanse, so when I do make a mistake~ all I need do is truly repent with my whole heart, and the ‘stain’ disappears.

Holy Spirit, guide my thinking and my actions. Even though You Lord have made me new, I still have human nature that is working, and that nature once was ruled by satan. Now You rule me; I am Yours. You help me overcome the callings of my old nature. You have given me a paradigm shift that permanently changed my vision. I see now where the enemy is trying to lead my thoughts into doubt about Your goodness, Your faithfulness, Your love for me. It’s at these times that I rush back to quiet time with You so my mind and heart can be refilled with truth. You take me to Your Word where truth is found:

Psalm 119:105 AMP   Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Psalm 16:11 NKJV

You will show me the path of life; In Your Presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

In the darkness and quiet of very early morning I come to You, Holy Spirit, bringing my typing fingers, writing my desire to sink ever deeper into You. From the depths of my soul rises a cry for more of You. I want to intermingle my spirit with You, because living close to You is my greatest need. You indwell me, and I rest in that joy. Sometimes You are the place I come when I need acceptance, convincing that I’m ok, doing Your will. Sometimes I am confident that I am doing Your will. Then there are days I feel unsettled about it, but I do not live by feelings, but by the Word of God. You are my touching point where I can reach out and experience You; where You, my God, enfold me inYour Presence.

In the Word You, Holy Spirit, bathe me in the truth and settle my heart. I belong to Jesus.

I belong to Jesus. My God brought me out of the world and translated me into the kingdom of the Son of His love (vs 13)

Colossians 1:9-14 (NKJV)

9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it,

do not cease to pray for you, and to ask

that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will

in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him,

being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power,

for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified

us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness

and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Thank You my holy God! You are always ready to satisfy my need. Your Presence in Your teaching brings joy to my soul.

Do you come to Him for guidance? Our God loves us so much and is always ready to help us. Do you ask?

Scarred!

Posted on May 16, 2018 at 4:55 AM Comments comments (0)

I sat listening to the story of a beautiful young woman who at age 17 was horribly burned over 40% of her body in a chemical accident. Her story of courage and redemption so touched my heart! There she stood with scarred body and face; dreams of being a model and actress gone forever. . .   Perhaps the worldly version of the dream containing surface beauty would never be fulfilled, but where does true beauty exist?

This lovely child of God dug down deep into her scarred body and soul to find true worth. The worldly solution to assuage the pain was the attempt to drown it in alcohol; but the enemy’s solution only brought depression. Her friend led her back to the Savior Jesus who always welcomes us in any condition when we come to Him. She gave Him her heart, her soul, her whole being and He gave her supernatural love, courage, and the ability to bring hope to others.

Teary eyed she stood in front of the audience revealing her inner struggles and the distress of her family. She also related as she emerged out of the depression, looking into the mirror she began to see Jesus’ reflection rather than disfigurement. Her worth was huge in the eternal perspective. This led me to question myself. How important is physical perfection to me? What do others see when they look at me? In a society that worships youth, do they judge me as too 'ancient' to have value?

Now this old tree stands proudly displaying its wounds in plain sight. I realized that it is the scarred trunk that brings a peculiar beauty to this magnificent warrior.

Who do I see when I look into the mirror? Before I frowned at all the wrinkles and discolorations of age, but yesterday for the first time I did not care. I said, “Lord, You will use me as I am. As the moon reflects the light of the sun, I want my countenance to reflect the light of joy I find in You. Let others see You when they regard me. I submit myself to You.”

Who do you see in the mirror? Where do you find your worth? What struggles of self worth are you dealing with today?

Did You Friend God?

Posted on January 18, 2017 at 7:55 AM Comments comments (0)

This morning I was looking at some Scriptures in King James Version and others, and it came to me that social media fits right in. We text message all the time, and we convey many thoughts to friends this way. I agree that sometimes it is misused to convey a thought that should be shared face to face, or at least voice to voice (phone call). . . you know those messages you need to make but don’t want the confrontation like~ “I want to break up with you.”

We as a people are getting too far away from each other on a heart level. I recall a syfi book I read eons ago where a society only communicated via a magnified ‘facetime’. They became afraid to be in real presence with each other. Even babies were test tube babies. It was an interesting study combined with a murder mystery plot. However, I digress. It seems like we are headed that way, at least partially, as we try ‘partial communication’ via words appearing on the small screen of an iPhone.

Look around at kids in school, adults in a restaurant, strangers on a bus. . . some say we shall become a race with hump backs from having our heads constantly looking down at a device in our hand. My writing this morning began with a Scripture I saw that gets down again to heart level.

It’s a relationship that is more important than any other. Can it be text created? Well, yes, in a sense. God wrote His text message to us in the form of a book. I can download it on my device and read it. I can even respond to it in text if I want. God’s words are relevant to us today even though they were texted long ago, for He literally put His heart into His words. See . . .

John 1:1-5, 14

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

He knew when the text was created that the words were more futuristic even beyond us. God created them as living words. Yes, because they contain His love for us, they can go right into each individual heart and speak to us there. That is why we can respond to Him in texting too. Just as I am speaking to you by text and you can text back to me. We can respond to God’s love message. The more we become acquainted with His heart thoughts, the greater will be our desire to exchange ours too. This is the verse from the Message Bible Translation that got me going on social media communication:

2 Corinthians 5:16-20 (MSG)

We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at Him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new.

The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and Him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with Himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins.

God has given us the task of telling everyone what He is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; He’s already a friend with you.

God wants to “friend you”. Are you going to accept or reject His offer?

Thoughts On Entering the New Year

Posted on December 30, 2016 at 6:25 AM Comments comments (0)

Brrrr. Cold. Air almost hurts to breathe it’s so freezing! I hurry to my car and climb in out off the wind, but it’s not much warmer. Turn on the engine; let’s generate some heat in here! Thank God for gloves that don’t allow the cold of the steering wheel to penetrate. And thankfully my car has an excellent heating system! Soon I am warm enough for my body to relax. Other thoughts begin to spring up. . . like what’s the best road to my destination? Do I have everything, you know, like my phone, and my water and the gift of food I am taking?

[But who am I thankful to? Who helps me keep everything together? My God, and He is so good, plus He really really loves me a lot! He loves you too!]

Seems more and more I have to be taking count before I leave home to be sure I’ve brought what I need. Guess my brain is crammed with all the knowledge I’ve gained over the years, and I need to file things away to open up space for the new. Past is after all gone for good; I take the helpful things from it to compile a ‘keep current’ folder in my brain, and leave the rest. After all, the future is what is important.

What has God got for my future? I know from His Word that even though my youth has been left mostly behind [I say mostly because there is still a lot of kid remaining in me] He has good plans for me:

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord,

‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.

Isaiah 46:4

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you.

I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

God’s got me, so I can feel an edge of excitement creeping up in my spirit. Not sure what He has in mind for the New Year, just know it is good, because He is good and He loves me! How do you look at the future? Are you seeing the hope?

When I come humbly before my God in reverence and respect, we talk about many things. He teaches me, admonishes me, laughs with me, and tells me how much He loves me. Yes, it’s usually Holy Spirit that chats with me. You see, often coming to God is yielding to the Holy Spirit, welcoming the Holy Spirit. He is the one who puts up the guardrails on our life highway, so we can stay stable on the journey we have been given to walk out. When we have this relationship with God, in our hearts we know what to do. You see Holy Spirit is always speaking and always leading us every minute of every day. On our part we keep open our ears and hearts to hear more of His message to each of us.

More of Him leads to more love, agape love~the God kind of love ~filling us to the point where it overflows upon others. The closer we get to Him, the less chance we have of falling into offense. Offense is the opposite of love. If we are offended by someone, we need to spend more time with God to fill up on His love. It will overpower the offense and allow forgiveness to cleanse out the hurt and resulting anger of the offense, so God-love can begin to flourish there again.

Remember it is the enemy who will build up coldness in our spirits. It will always find a way to put a crack in relationships if he can. So we have to keep our eyes open for his interference in our lives. He can be pretty sneaky and mean. But God’s love will overcome all; so we continue to strive to allow His love to fill our hearts and flow through us, so it can secure forgiveness in our hearts ~ can scrub away the hurt.

If you are in that position now of feeling affronted by another, seek God’s help, because if the hurt is deep, you may not be able to allow forgiveness to wash away the pain and return to love on your own. But nothing is impossible with God; His love conquers all! Let's enter 2017 with a soul washed clean of unforgiveness, so it is the beautiful love of the Savior that fills our hearts and guides our journey through this New Year!

A Cog In Time

Posted on December 28, 2016 at 6:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Once again I am reminded: Life's not all about me. I am but a cog in His wheel of salvation. Lord, show me how to do my part well. Let me be completely oiled with Your anointing! Guide me on the path that is Your will; I want to always follow Your directives. Sensitize my ears, Father, that I hear Your voice; put Your words in my mouth and in my hand that writes. Reach out to those who need You so desperately through my tongue and blog.

Where has God so delicately placed your cog? Are you allowing the moving of the tiny machine to bring salvation to others through you?

Cog: a wheel or bar with a series of projections on its edge that transfers motion by engaging with projections on another wheel or bar.

So as a cog, I don't move myself, You move me, Lord, through Your motion on the other wheel or bar. I'm a carrier of Your Word and love. And is there something deeper beneath the surface? You call me to move sometimes out of sync with the world. . . Whatever You desire Lord, I am willing.

The big picture: Your plan of salvation reaches out to many through the ages. Time measurer~ a watch has tiny cogs in it that move ever round and round turning the hands counting. . . seconds, minutes, hours, days, years, and millennium.

Galatians 4:4-5 AMP

But when [in God’s plan] the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman,

born under the [regulations of the] Law, so that He might redeem and liberate those who were under the Law,

that we [who believe] might be adopted as sons [as God’s children with all rights as fully grown members of a family].

[Picture created by artist Carol Loomis]

We are adopted into God's family when we accept Jesus gift of salvation and choose Him as our Lord and Savior. We receive the DNA of our Father God with all the family rights, privileges, promises and inheritances.

So as a cog in Your family plan, Lord, move me along the timeline completing every task to bring me to where I am supposed to be. Yes, I’m a cog in a wheel of time that operates beyond human knowledge and understanding. As each click turns I rest in peace, for it is the interaction with my God that propels me. I cannot escape from my place. The watchmaker has assigned me here, in this time and place. I trust Him and it’s here where I choose to stay today and through the New Year.

I rest in You my God allowing You to keep me cleansed and turning with precision. I’m pleased to be a shining cog in Your wheel of salvation.

Are you a cog moved by God? His plan for our lives is always best! Spend time each day with Him, and your New Year will be the best ever! Trust in Him.

Visiting the Stable

Posted on December 21, 2016 at 6:55 AM Comments comments (0)

My spirit has been yearning for something; this morning it came clear~ holiness, peace and quiet joy. Where do I find this in the hustle and bustle of this season? It is a beautiful time to celebrate the birth of a Savior! Why all this pressure and busyness? It does not belong!

Decided to go to my quiet place and close my eyes. It’s late evening as I find myself in a crowded busy city of long ago; it's full of travelers looking for their lodging. Sun has left and stars are lighting the darkening sky. I amble down the road and enter the path reaching out into a field. My eyes see dimly a structure softly glowing in the dark pasture. Yes, it is the stable I was searching out. Town noises fade as I come close to the stable. A gentle light seems to emanate forth and peace surrounds. A woman has recently given birth; she sits leaning against a bale of hay smiling down at the babe in her arms. The simple joy of Mom and Dad at the birth of their Son cannot be missed.

Sitting at the edge of the stable my back against the wall, I find my eyes refuse to move from the tiny sleeping child. Memory of a scripture appears and I see this grown up Lord deeply asleep in the back of a boat. His friends were in a panic because a storm is roaring about them; finally as a huge wave crashes down, they wake Jesus. "Master help us! We are surely drowning.” Coming awake Jesus says, "Did I not say we are going to the other side? Why do you doubt my words? O ye of little faith". Then He stands up and commands the wind and the waves, “Peace, be still”, and they obey.

Matthew 8:23-30 (NIV)

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

As I sit there, Mary smiles at me. My storm is raging too, but Jesus’ promises are true! And I hear His voice, “Peace, be still. I am with you.”

My escape into the quiet of the holy night fills me with peace. I’ll come back for another visit.

May His peace cover you, my friends.

Soon We Will Know

The time has come. The suspense has built up to near bursting. Tuesday is election day here in the USA. Our destiny is about to be decided. It is essential that every person get out and do our civic duty and vote!

No excuses. Saying ”I don’t like either candidate” is not valid. Your “like or not liking personality” matters not. It’s much bigger then that. Who will bring back God’s help in returning our nation to righteousness? Which candidate can God work through? Which one supports life? Which one listens to Christian advisors? Who do we serve? Man or God? My friends, please pray about which should receive your important vote? And your vote is important!!

We know God’s hand has been on this nation throughout its existence. He led our founders in creating our constitution which has made us a great nation. He wanted us to have a country to honor and worship Him in freedom. We were founded as a Christian nation, and we shall continue to be one. God said:

Isaiah 43:11-13 (AMPC)

11 I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.

12 I have declared [the future] and have saved [the nation in times of danger], and I have shown [that I am God]—when there was no strange and alien god among you; therefore you are My witnesses, says the Lord, that I am God.

(MSG Bible:“But you are my witnesses.” God’s Decree.

“You’re my handpicked servant

So that you’ll come to know and trust me,

understand both that I am and who I am.)

13 Yes, from the time of the first existence of day and from this day forth I am He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand. I will work, and who can hinder or reverse it?

No one can deliver out of God’s hand. We put our country into Your hands, Lord. Let us stand together and praise and worship our one true God, trusting in Him as we do our part and vote.

Next month we celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Savior. Scripture tells us the government is on His shoulder~

Isaiah 9:6-7 (AMPC)

For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from the [latter] time forth, even forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Jesus is the Lord of Hosts! Jesus shall return our nation to Godly principles. We give our country to You God, trusting in Your Word and in Your promises. We know You can do all things. We bow down before Your throne and submit ourselves and our county to Your will. AMEN.

My friends around the world, please pray for us and this election. It is critical!

Words That Sustain

John 15:5-8

I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

6 If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken off] branch, and withers and dies; and they gather such branches and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.

The Book of John is one of my favorites in the Bible! He loves Jesus and Jesus' love for him and for us comes through beautifully; so we can enrich our relationship with Jesus when we take the time to meditate on this Book. Jesus compares our relationship to a vine bearing fruit. He is the vine, the main carrier of life. When we keep our 'branch' attached to the vine, His life 'sap' flows into us, and we keep healthy and grow strong, bearing fruit in season.

Painting at the left is by well known artist, Heidi Jung; current exhibit is at Denver Botanical Gardens until 11/6/16

God is the vinedresser who cares for the plant pruning and feeding. So long as we keep attached to the vine, and Jesus life flows into us, we fulfill our destiny growing plump and juicy fruit. . . that is, growing in intimacy with Him, knowing our assigned work, and receiving help in accomplishing it. If we tear ourselves away from the vine and detach from it, no life can flow into us and we fall to the ground and die.

Another beautiful work by Heidi Jung in life /death cycle series now at the Denver Botanical Gardens until 11/6/16

In looking at these verses, I can see so clearly how necessary it is to cling to Jesus and His teachings, for the Word of God is actual food for our body, soul and spirit. It is the life that flows from Jesus into us nurturing our being with truth, building our faith, and enabling that intimate relationship with our God. It is a wonderful analogy, because it builds a picture in our minds of Jesus life flowing into us, a vision that continually expands our understanding.

God’s Word is the adhesive that cements our relationship with Him. His Word works in our hearts to draw us closer, it’s like the air we breathe~ His love surrounds and permeates the atmosphere beautifully, elegantly filling our entire being. As we read and hear His Word, it is alive and gathers in our hearts, planting in us the openness of a child, it becomes the Bread of Life, Jesus.

As we come to be carriers of His Word sharing it with others, Holy Spirit leads and guides us to those who also want to have a deep relationship with God. The close connection we construct with Jesus, with God, allows our communication with Him to thrive. Jesus taught us we can go to the Father and talk with Him and make requests of Him, and He will hear us. For we have honored Him by the inner presence of Jesus, His love, His Words, His commands in our hearts. Our lives are centered around Jesus.

Enjoy the Book of John, my friends! I’ll blog on more next time.

Meanwhile, may His wondrous love be paramount in your lives!

Cast Out Anxiety

Posted on October 21, 2016 at 6:30 AM Comments comments (0)

A single phone call can disrupt our life. The enemy will pounce on anything it can use to attack us. Well I went to the doctor for a yearly checkup; they did one of those procedures where they try to turn a cup into a saucer~ you ladies know the one. It is a way of showing early signs of possible cancer. Well the phone call I got asked me to come back in, as there was something the doc wanted to look closer at.

That's enough to cause anxiety in some. However, having gone through a cancer journey once before, it did not concern me. Why? Because God had made Himself marvelously present throughout my walk. (Told in my book Cast Up A Highway.) And because anytime a negative thought would try and raise its ugly head, I would remember that my loving mighty God is my rear guard and nothing can sneak up behind me. See Isaiah 52:

Isaiah 52:12 (AMP)

For you will not go out in a hurry [as when you left Egypt],

Nor will you go in flight [fleeing, as you did from the Egyptians];

For the Lord will go before you,

And the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Oh God of Israel You are King of Kings, Lord of Lords! You are my God, and I love YOU. Thank You for loving me so well! You go before us, leading the way and preparing our path, and nothing can sneak up behind us, because You are also our rear guard! Thank You, mighty God! We move forward to spread Your Word and bring truth to the world. Hallelujah!

God's Word brings us close to Him, because it is so personal. The Bible is the Living Word of God. It does not sit as some dry history book written eons ago and reporting happenings back then. Rather it is alive and speaks God's thoughts through His Words to us. Today His Word is meant to be a personal guide throughout our life. God will use it to talk intimately with us just when we need it the most; we trust in Him as our Lord, our Savior, our indwelling Holy Spirit who is our:

John 14:26 (AMP)

But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

God Himself will indwell us and help us through every phase of life. If we open ourselves up to Him, trust in Him, we shall live in glorious freedom. Our very nature is altered after we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, and our new cleansed self can invite Holy Spirit, God Himself, to enter in and make His home within us. Life with God is so much better than fighting the evil enemy's nature that we had before Jesus.

If you have not already asked Jesus to come into your heart and be your Savior, now is the time! Admit and be sorry for your sins, and ask Jesus to enter into your heart and reign over your life forever. He will do it.

How He Loves Us!

Posted on October 19, 2016 at 5:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Sometimes, my friends, I find myself overwhelmed by the awareness of how much God loves me. He showed me how He incorporated His plan of salvation in the human body in the Laminin protein molecule (which I blogged about recently: "WOW"). That was exciting to have a small part of His creation revealed to me. Then as I was reading John 15 yesterday, His love for me and for you poured out. Hear these words of Jesus:

John 15:10-11(AMP)

10 If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love,

just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

11) I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you,

and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.

Jesus wants His filling/fulfilling joy to be in us. This was the joy He gave me that sustained me throughout the cancer journey. (See Cast Up A Highway) With His joy we can stand strong through any storm or trial!

John 17:14-23

“I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them,

because they are not of the world [do not belong to the world], just as I am not of the world.

(15) I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one.

(16) “They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world.

When we choose Jesus, we are translated into His Kingdom (Colossians 1:13) and we are no longer of the world. We live in a different plain, a new place. Our hearts now belong to God, and are cleansed and eager to live a life pleasing to Him; we want to fulfill His plan for our lives, not our own worldly one. The desires of our heart are drawn like a magnet to His goodness and righteousness. This contributes to the completeness of who we are, to who we were created to be.

(17) Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.”

There is joy, there is gladness, there is the Word and there is protection, there is sanctification or a purifying, there is consecration, there is holiness and truth, the truth of what the Word says. Hallelujah.

(18) “Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. (19) And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.

(20) Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,

Do you see what this means? Jesus was actually praying for us. Way back 2000 years ago, Jesus prayed for us, yes, that’s you an me.

Next Jesus expresses His dearest wish:

(21) That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.(22) I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:”

Unity is what Jesus desires, that we may truly be one Body. We do not talk religion here; it’s not about that. It’s about the unity “That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us,” That we all accept Jesus gift of salvation; then we will become one Body.

That’s pretty clear isn’t it, unity in the Body.

(23) “I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.” God loves us so much!

John 17:26 (NIV)

I have made You known to them, and will continue to make You known in order that the love You have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

Choose to invite Jesus into your heart, and He will settle down and make His home there.

Ephesians 3:17 (NLT)

17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

My dear friends, with the strength of Christ dwelling within, you can live a life filled with the gifts of God~ power to fight the enemy, fortification to keep yourself and loved ones protected, armor to fight the battle, a mighty supernatural love shielding. Also you can grow deeper into God and receive revelation for your life, and so much more.

May the grace, power, and love of Christ reign over each day of your life!

"WOW"

Ever see something new that made your heart beat faster, your eyes open wide in thrilling comprehension? I believe God is beginning to reveal new mysteries in these end times. One that just recently came to me from a friend/teacher really excited me.

It is a marvelous little molecule existing in our bodies called the laminin molecule. What an exciting discovery! I mean it was an “Oh wow!” Google it and see verification of what I’m saying! This little molecule is called by some the 'glue that holds the body together.' . . the organs to each other, joints together, holds the skin on, etc.:it's the adhesion molecule. That’s its function, to hold body parts together.

What creates the wow factor is when you see its shape: Here is the scientific diagram:

It's in the shape of a cross! God plans all things well!

We can see even under an electron microscope: The laminin image of a cross, with Jesus’s body slumped in death.

Now to add to the wonder, look at what Paul says in the Word:

Colossians 1:16-17,20

16 for in Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. . .

20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven,

making peace by the blood of his cross.

My friends, mysteries of God are being revealed all the time. They are being discovered by the scientific world and demonstrate to us God’s mighty workings in His Creation. Let's thank God who loves us so much and who does indeed ‘hold us together’! The cross, once called a curse, now gives an additional understanding of Jesus shed blood on it; it casts its place in our lives as we receive even deeper comprehension of it. It's indeed a "Wow" factor. Isn't our God amazing!?!

My God, You hid Your salvation plan in the human body, and now You reveal it to us. How marvelous You are!! You're glorious and I want to be before Your great throne joining the angels singing songs of worship and praise to You while humbly bowing my whole being down before You. You astonish me with Your intriguing plan of creation, and how You reveal its many surprising components to us.

It makes me want to tear the blinders off of people's eyes so they can see not just that You exist, but how marvelously spectacular You are!

My friends, what thrills you as you learn more and grow closer to our Lord?

Is God Your Partner?

Scent of coffee greeted us as we entered my sister and brother-in-law's home. Hugs warmly shared; happy words of sincere delight in seeing each other again sparkled in the air.

They led us down to their beautiful patio with its flowers and wonderful mountain view across a golf course. The setting was a display of God’s love for us. A doorbell called to announce the arrival of one more sibling and spouse. More delight and hugs. It's a rare occasion these days when we can gather together. My dear sis and husband did a beautiful job as hosts in their lovely home. And my sister knows my dietary restrictions and went out of her way to cook special dishes that I could fully enjoy! That’s love!

The enemy is after destroying families and relationships. But God knows how to be present and create an atmosphere of love, and He did that yesterday. It was a jovial time with my sisters' sharing of their recent visit to Peru with fun and funny experiences. We laughed a lot and totally enjoyed our time together!

In contrast to our peace filled loving visit, if we look at the news of the world and all the killing and mayhem, one can surly observe satan’s hatred. He has his men of ISIS working to exterminate Christians in brutal fashions. Finally it is beginning to be recognized by world organizations as genocide, and hopefully action will be taken against ISIS. Then there is the more recent brutal attack in France. But one does not have to travel that far to see the enemy’s work.

Family relationships are targeted by the enemy, and many families have rifts in them. It comes through the enemy’s evil deceptions and lies that people believe; then hurt and unforgiveness erupts, and this alone is responsible for many relationship disruptions. The result often affects the children in the family, as the hurt spreads and creates disunity. Breaking a family is one of satan’s favorite tools.

But God will have the victory. God works through men and women like us to bring truth and victory. Look at Acts 26:

Acts 26:17-18 The Message

‘I’m sending you off to open the eyes of the outsiders

so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light,

see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God.

I’m sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven,

and a place in the family, inviting them into the company

of those who begin real living by believing in me.’

Jesus has given us a part in redeeming the world. We each have our own little patch of earth to till and plant, water and harvest~ our own contacts, friends, relatives, strangers God will bring across our paths. As we live life serving Jesus as our Lord and Savior, our lives shine with His brightness, and it is noticed by those we meet. Living right in His joy and light draws others to us. Saw a phrase the other day~ be a “fire lighter’. Think about lighting the fire of God's love and forgiveness in others.

My friends, God loves us all so much! We can bask in His love and soak it in like a sponge. Then when we encounter people it seeps out refreshing them with the anointing love of God. His love so emanates peace and stillness, joy and gladness. Are you sharing Jesus love and truth with your loved ones?

Do you invite strangers into the Kingdom? Holy Spirit will give you the words if you ask. He is your partner in this work!

Hate Strikes France Again

Bastille Day Terror Attack in France ~ News release:

On the evening of 14 July 2016, Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a Tunisian resident of France, deliberately drove a 19-tonne cargo truck into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, killing 84 people and injuring hundreds more. He was shot and killed by police. . . .

*******************************************************

A truck driven by hate mowed down people like so many weeds in a field. Men, women and children were killed and injured. Who is the god of hatred but satan himself? Yes, we have a satanic move of violence sweeping across our world in these last days. Jihadist are led by a hatred in their souls for all but those who would follow their ways.

We pray today for the people of France who are fighting a desperate battle against these murderers inspired by the devil to find ways of destroying God’s children. Yes, that is the origin of all this violence. This is a spiritual attack, as well as an earthly one.

You see, in ancient days before time began there was a battle in heaven. Lucifer, a beautiful angel of music became jealous of God, through pride convinced himself that he should be god. Lucifer began conspiring with other angels and led a revolution against God Almighty.

Imagine a revolution against God. Lucifer was defeated and cast out of heaven. He became the devil we now call satan, and God’s bitter enemy who now casts his traps for God’s children. Our enemy, satan, will be defeated in this battle also!

It began with first man we call Adam. Through deception the devil convinced Adam to disobey God, and that betrayal against God became the sin that stained the blood of Adam and carried to all his decedents.

However, God so loved us that from our conception He planned a way of salvation for all His kids. The sin of our origin, that was passed down through the blood line of Adam to all of us, was a sin of man against God. Therefore, it had to be mitigated by a God-man, and so God sent His own Son Jesus to be the sacrifice that would redeem us.

Jesus came upon the earth born to a Jewish couple named Mary and Joseph. He grew in wisdom and knowledge to become our Savior. After teaching and performing miracles for three short years, He was falsely accused by the devil’s cohorts, then beaten and cruelly crucified on the cross. It is His shed blood that cleanses sin from our blood.

When we repent of our sins, accept Jesus gift of salvation making Him Lord of our lives, we take on a new identity as God’s child with His DNA. With our new nature now bathed in the blood of Jesus we can approach Father God and actually build intimacy with Him. (If you desire this, the book Cast Up A Highway is a good guide) Once we belong to Jesus we will be blessed here on earth and are guaranteed entrance into heaven when we die.

Titus 3:3-8The Message (MSG)

It wasn’t so long ago that we ourselves were stupid and stubborn, dupes of sin, ordered every which way by our glands,

going around with a chip on our shoulder, hated and hating back.

But when God, our kind and loving Savior God, stepped in,

He saved us from all that. It was all his doing;

we had nothing to do with it.

He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people,

washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit.

Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously.

God’s gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives.

And there’s more life to come—

an eternity of life! You can count on this.

My friends, all this terror in our world shows us that none has guarantee of another day. Many of our brothers and sisters in France never knew that when they awakened on Bastille Day they would die before the day’s end. Please my friends, deeply consider the truths I share here, and ask Jesus to show you the light of salvation so that we can be together in eternity. What have you got to lose?

God loves us so much! It is His desire that you hear His heart and accept His Son’s sacrifice for you. He wants you to live with Him in eternity. The Book of Revelation in the Bible clearly depicts the end of time and the results of our choices. Disdaining God and rejecting Jesus' gift ends up in terrible tragedy with death bringing hellfire and damnation, pain of losing God and suffering under satan’s hatred forever, for eternity. Please do not mess around with this truth.

I love you and want to spend my eternity with you in heaven. Will you meet me there at the end of our days on earth?

Building Dynamic Faith

Posted on March 11, 2016 at 7:15 AM Comments comments (0)

My friends, I was just talking to a dear young 13 year old about his faith, and I was remarkably impressed. I know he has not had a lot of formal training, so it surprised me somewhat. Actually it delighted me as he is dear to my heart.

It got me to thinking about faith in general and my own faith. I’ve recognized that some days my faith is strong as steel, and other days I’m tempted to slip a little from standing strong. Circumstances can do that; so can distractions. I wondered why until I saw a statement made by Mark Hankins a long time ago: “The most important thing we should be doing on a daily basis is introducing ourselves to our new selves” because we as humans are very forgetful. We have a very short shelf life for things.

That remark reminded me of a Scripture that I never fully understood until now. It says:

James 1:23-24 (NIV)

Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says

is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror

24 and, after looking at himself,

goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

We forget Our faith of yesterday or our strength of faith of several days ago. Like Mark Hankins says ‘we have a short shelf life for things.’ That seems like an excellent grip on the Scripture and understanding as to why sometimes I am feeling staunch faith and other times I am flailing a little.

Now this year I have set my goal to fill that lack. With God all things are possible and with His help any time I am lacking strength in my faith stand about something, I go back to Scripture and find the words that enforce my faith. This keeps me from trying to ‘fake it’, which is the worst thing I can do.

Thus I am seeing improvement in my spiritual growth, and I’m getting more assertive in my prayer times, trusting God more determinedly and ‘knowing’ that He is answering my prayer. As a pray-er we are partnering with God to carryout His will. God is the One who leads in prayer, it is my role is to listen and hear His heart in the situation. He will urge me to pray in His timing. In following this guide, I've discovered that my prayers are more powerful, because I am praying His will in His time.

Faith is an attitude. It’s more than a catch phrase. It’s more than an acknowledgement. It is an attitude that is born out of the heart of God by the Word of God

You know guys, we have so much to learn, but God takes us step by step where He wants us to be. So I just want to encourage you to daily read and listen to the voice of His Word. Know that He is speaking. Be hungry, be desperate, be aggressive, let there be a fire on the altar of your soul for the Word of God.

GPAN gave a great illustration in a little story:

I was just reminded of this little word picture of a bulldog that finds a new juicy, savory, aromatic, marrow-ladened bone. A little bulldog named Lucy, let’s say. And when she finds that bone in this word picture, she clamps her jowls around that bone and carries it off somewhere safe and quiet where all of her devotion and affection and desire is focused on that bone and nobody’s going to get that bone away from her even if their life depended on it. Because every ounce of her being is wrapped around that bone. I thought that is really a great picture of how we need to be about not only our relationship with God but particular our faith.

This deep devotion to God’s Word, and the love for God that comes with it, will build a staunch bond in our relationship with Christ, so nothing can separate us or cause us to go astray. Our faith will be tenacious and formidable!

Light Exposes What's Hidden in Darkness

Posted on March 9, 2016 at 6:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Have you noticed that in watching a film, if the characters are walking alone down a street in the dark, we are just waiting for something bad to happen. . . the escaped jaguar is sitting on a tree limb waiting to attack, the people who want to assault them are hiding behind a bush, robbers are creeping up to a house to rob or do other evil work. Seems the darkness is good for hiding and evil loves to do its work in darkness.

The Word speaks of darkness too:

John 3:19-21

This is the judgment [that is, the cause for indictment,

the test by which people are judged, the basis for the sentence]:

the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness

rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

20 For every wrongdoer hates the Light,

and does not come to the Light

[but shrinks from it] for fear that his

[sinful, worthless] activities will be exposed and condemned.

21 But whoever practices truth [and does what is right—

morally, ethically, spiritually] comes to the Light,

so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are

—accomplished in God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help,

in dependence on Him].”

Jesus, Who is the Light, gave up His heavenly home to be born upon this earth as a man. This sacrifice was made out of the greatness of love! He came because first man, Adam, had chosen to disregard God’s instructions and listened to satan instead. This treasonous act condemned all men to be born with a sin nature unable to come close to God who is all good. It would be like bringing paper near to fire~the paper is burned up.

Jesus came to bring a cleansing of man’s nature, a redeeming alteration to mankind. When we admit our sinfulness and choose to accept Jesus sacrifice on the cross as His gift of redemption, and we choose to make Jesus (rather than satan) the Lord of our lives, we are totally transformed into God’s children with His DNA. And the redemption is continual (If we err and sin, but then repent, that sin is automatically cleansed away).

Jesus put a light on the world that exposes evil. In these last days we can see evil expanding trying to hide in the darkness of deception and lies. It is working on society to have people deny Christ and deny Almighty God. It calls good evil and evil good. When we are reborn in God’s image our eyes are open to the light and we can see through the deceptions and wrongness that is happening.

To live a life full of goodness and truth we must have clear spiritual vision, so our choices are seen from the light of truth. God’s Word holds only truth and is an excellent foundation for our lives. Armed with His truth we can walk down a lighted path to our goal of becoming all God created us to be. His good plan for our lives will be fulfilled.

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord,

‘plans for peace and well-being and

not for disaster,

to give you a future and a hope.

It Was For Me

So what does this Lenten season mean to you?

Isaiah 53:1-10 (AMP)

Who has believed [confidently trusted in, relied on, and adhered to] our message [of salvation]?

And to whom [if not us] has the arm and infinite power of the Lord been revealed?

2 For He [the Servant of God] grew up before Him

like a tender shoot (plant),

And like a root out of dry ground;

He has no stately form or majestic splendor That we would look at Him,

Nor [handsome] appearance that we would be attracted to Him.

Father You sent Your beloved Son to us that He might teach us about You, so we could know You as a loving Father and worship You as our Almighty God. Oh my God, I bow down before You in awe at the greatness and power of Your love!

Father, You so loved the world (that’s you and me, friend) that You arranged to have our sin debt paid in full at the incredible cost of Your Son’s agony and death. Now we can be totally cleansed from our sin by recognizing our need for redemption, accepting Jesus gift to us, and inviting Him to be Lord of our lives.

We’re cleansed and so pure that we can come close to You, Father, and we have the immense privilege of being in Your Presence. I am whole in Your Presence! It is peace and love, calm and excitement, joy and challenge. You want the best for me in every area of my life. My very existence is proof of that, for You created me and wrote my name in the Lamb’s book of life assuring my eternity with You. I love you so much, my Father!

3 He was despised and rejected by men,

A Man of sorrows and pain and acquainted with grief;

And like One from whom men hide their faces

He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or esteem Him.

4 But [in fact] He has borne our griefs,

And He has carried our sorrows and pains;

Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken,

Struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him].

How many today see Jesus this way? He is despised and rejected by people in this day and age. He came for us, yet we arrogantly turn away from Him. He spent His life to bring us life; how many disregard this great gift? In His time on earth He went through disappointments, rejections, betrayals, sorrows, humiliation. He experienced all sorrows like we go through during our time on earth. He knows our suffering and He can bring comfort to our weeping souls.

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing];

The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him,

And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.

6 All of us like sheep have gone astray,

We have turned, each one, to his own way;

But the Lord has caused the wickedness of us all

[our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]

To fall on Him [instead of us].

Our evil thoughts, wrong-doings, bringing hurt to others, all our sin great and small are spurred on by our sin nature that follows satan; sins can be erased and our soul washed clean and pure by repenting of our wrongs and accepting Jesus’ gift of salvation. When we accept Jesus as our Savior and ask Him to be the Lord of our life, our vary nature is transformed. We become God’s kids with His DNA as our nature. We are freed from the chains of sin that bound us to evil. We are free to choose goodness and bask in God’s glory. Our eyes and ears will now be opened to receive and know truth. When we encounter any trials or troubles, we have a Helper to bring us to victory.

7

He was oppressed and He was afflicted,

Yet He did not open His mouth [to complain or defend Himself];

Like a lamb that is led to the slaughter,

And like a sheep that is silent before her shearers,

So He did not open His mouth.

8

After oppression and judgment He was taken away;

And as for His generation [His contemporaries],

who [among them] concerned himself with the fact

That He was cut off from the land of the living [by His death]

For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke [of death] was due?

Because of His commitment to us, He allowed Himself to be falsely accused and accepted the punishment that was required by our debt. For you and me He was cruelly scourged and humiliated, painfully nailed to a tree and hung up to die in anguish. It was our crimes that required that punishment, but He took it for us. He knew it was the only way we could be saved from satan's hellish eternity, and He was willing to do it. It only takes our repentance and acceptance of His gift to be assured of an eternity with Him.

9 His grave was assigned with the wicked,

But He was with a rich man in His death,

Because He had done no violence,

Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

10 Yet the Lord was willing

To crush Him, causing Him to suffer;

If He would give Himself as a guilt offering

[an atonement for sin],

He shall see His [spiritual] offspring,

He shall prolong His days,

And the will (good pleasure) of the Lord

shall succeed and prosper in His hand.

There is our marvelous truth! We are stupendously loved by our God! He has provided the Way for a life of joy, and an eternity of amazing wonders! Almost can’t wait! :))

Exuberant!

Romans 8:17 (MSG)

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life.

It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?”

God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are.

We know who He is, and we know who we are:

Father and children.

And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—

an unbelievable inheritance!

This is the year! 2016 is going to be a year where God is going to move in more supernatural ways. Does the Bible say that? No It only indicates some happenings in the 'last days.' I truly believe we are in the last days; so I look for signs and in my spirit feel stirrings. Recently I heard a prophet named Hank Kunneman who had some powerful things to relate about 2016.

This hope and subdued excitement within was sparked by the verse above from the Message Bible. Look at the words!

On Feb 12, 2016, my prayer was of thankfulness: Thank You Father! My heart opens itself pouring out gratitude to You. Such a God You are! Beautiful in Your vastness. Shining in magnificence and glory! You are awesome in goodness and mercy. And yet, You love ME. You call me by my name and claim me as Your own. My identity is in You, Lord.

Thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness. Thank You for forgiveness, for my Savior, Your Son Jesus, Who agreed to suffer and die for my sins. Such torture that was mine to suffer for my sin debt, Jesus took it on His shoulders to pay. Thank You Jesus that I can now come before my Father cleansed of all sin; I am able to approach Him, run to Him, and jump into His arms for a big hug. Jesus, because of Your sacrifice, I will spend eternity with You in heaven!

Your heart is so full of love for me, it is a constant stream; I can feel love filling my days. You are the supreme “valentine”. My life is full because of Your love for me. You send Holy Spirit to be my guide, my mentor, my advocate, my comforter. He keeps me filled and thinking good thoughts.

He also convicts me of bad ones, like yesterday when I was irritated that the line my car was in was just sitting there or inching forward. And some car comes up on the right and wants to get in. He had not been sitting there for ten minutes inching along. I made sure he could not get ahead of me!! Then “zing” Holy Spirit convicted me of my uncharitable thought. The car managed to get in several cars ahead of me, so it was not an action on my part. But the resentful attitude was sinful, and I repented for it. Thank You Holy Spirit for convicting me; I want to be like You and extend grace more easily.

Yes Lord, exuberant expectation and hope fills my spirit these days. Your goodness and mercy are going to be bursting out more frequently and I am eager to see what You are going to do!! Do you feel it too, my friends? Keep your ears and eyes open and keep a heart of expectancy. We’ll share time together in the hereafter talking more about the goodness and graciousness of our God!! May the wonder of His love fill all the empty spaces in your hearts today and every day!

He Settles My Nerves

I remember pacing the hall nervously, my stomach unsettled. It was the first time I’d been called to pray for the nations in the front of the church before God and everybody. I had no clue what to say. Would I just stand there like a trembling statue unable to speak?

Finally, I recalled the One who indwells me. Holy Spirit has never let me down. I talked to Him about it, and I could feel Him smile as He took me to:

Isaiah 50:7 (AMP)

For the Lord God helps Me,

Therefore, I have not been ashamed or humiliated.

Therefore, I have made My face like flint,

And I know that I shall not be put to shame.

This verse gave me the assurance that all would go well. I knew I could trust God! Sure enough it was true once again. As I stood microphone in hand they announced the topic. Clueless my mind was numb. Then it was time to go on, “Ok, Holy Spirit, You are on," I said. And the words came and they flowed.

Thank You Holy God! You are faithful and true! I can trust You with everything in my life!

So have you, my friends, had God experiences that renewed your strength and deepened your faith? Are there certain verses in the Bible that sustain you? If not, I highly recommend that you seek the Lord’s face and ask Holy Spirit to show you one or more verses that you can carry always in your mind. My favorite one that covers a lot of situations is:

Psalm 138:8 (AMPC)

He will perfect that which concerns me.

May your day be bright with His perfect light!

Listening to the sounds of the sea, I closed my eyes and saw the waves crashing against the rocks. The ever beating heart of God, they continued their unending symphony. I could feel the mighty beating heart of the Creator filling me with Himself. I did nothing but sit on that rock, sit, eyes closed, listening for what seemed like hours, allowing His rhythm to invade my soul. It filled me up like air pumped into a flat tire so it can completes it’s purpose of carrying me where I need to go. A fresh sense of power and love permeated my spirit, calling me to draw near, a tractor beam drawing my ship into the space station, a meeting with the heart of my God.

Holy Spirit, being in relationship with You is a heady experience! I love this sense of peace and gentleness that fills the atmosphere! I can drift like a cloud on a sunny day, a time of just be-ing with You. My face holds a constant smile; my body calm as a lake early on a quiet morning, content. At some point I’ll have to move on with the day, but how I wish every moment contained this deep awareness of Your Presence!

Sometimes my Lord, You gift me with an amazing consciousness of You; it kicks me off my worldly post into the bright light of Your truth and love: a course correction when my ship has meandered away. You are so spectacular in your understanding of me and what I need, and that makes me feel so loved by You! Thank You Lord!

My friends, when you are near the sea and hear the never ending crashing waves against the rocks, do you not think of a mighty God? I’ve long seen the sea as His mighty heartbeat. The waters are beautiful, but one must treat them with respect, for they are also dangerous. God loves us and He is a merciful God, but He is also the God of Justice. So do not be arrogant or contemptuous towards Him, but rather be humble and loving to Him, as well as to our brothers and sisters. Then you will live in joy and success.

Galatians 6:5-10 (MSG)

4-5 Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.

6 Be very sure now, you who have been trained to a self-sufficient maturity, that you enter into a generous common life with those who have trained you, sharing all the good things that you have and experience.

7-8 Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

9-10 So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

Following His instruction manual for life, the Bible, will bring us success and happiness.
