Wow! Walked out into a fairyland of crystal coated earth this morning! God is such a wonderful designer! Trees frosted white. Even the grass had its winter coating. It felt life a wonderland as I drove to my appointment. God's presence brought His peace inside my car. Love it when He does this! My whole day blossoms in joy.
As you know, some days are just days with same ole same ole activities. Other days carry surprises that can be good or disappointing. In the ‘same ole’ days I thank God for His many blessings. When disappointing surprises pop up, I thank God for His many blessings. When good surprises smile in my day, I thank God for His many blessings. Sounds pretty good, aye? It would be if I could truly be that way.
That is my ideal goal; however, I have a long way to go to live up to it. I don't think I’m the only one who has a hard time focusing on my Lord when one day follows another with same tasks, same kid behaviors to deal with, same laundry to get done. . . I have my quiet time in the morning which is good, but I want to stay heart connected all day long, like a child whose whole heart loves God.
Of course good surprises are nice, and blessings that keep me thankful. So I have learned to EXPECT thankful things to happen.
But then, there are days I encounter the negatives that jump out at me and knock me down, I get up and call on my Lord. This occurrence can arrange my focus to remain on Him, for when the enemy screams all the bad things in my mind, Jesus name alone will force it to be stilled. I put the crushing blows in God’s hands and He is always faithful to handle it for me. Our communication link stays “on”. OK, yesterday a negative surprise hit my mind and heart. “Jesus”, I cry, “please help me”. I will not allow it to take my mind down that slippery slope of darkness! I will expect You to fix this situation, totally. His answer began last night as I opened a letter from Joyce Meyer, and it starts out:
“You are in a battle! A war is raging all around you! A battle for your health. An assault on your emotions. A fight for your children and grand children, or a difficult issue in any area of your life.
To you it might just seem like luck or bad circumstances. But you need to know, more often than not, it is more than that. It’s a war being waged by your greatest adversary. And he wants nothing less than your total defeat.
But even though war rages, there is no need to fear.
You are saved, redeemed, empowered, and protected; you're strengthened by the Holy Spirit and able to walk in victory, because Jesus has already won the battle. God’s Word promises you
. . . Isaiah 54:17 . . . no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper. . .
That means no matter how bad the news, how difficult the situation, how discouraging the betrayal, or how unexpected the obstacle, as you stand on His Word, and believe His promises for you, you will not be defeated!
You can live your life with confidence knowing that the battle~the real one~belongs to the Lord:
2 Chronicles 20:15.
12 . . .we are powerless against this great multitude which is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
13 So all Judah stood before the Lord, with their infants, their wives, and their children
14 Then in the midst of the assembly the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph. 15 He said, “Listen carefully, all [you people of] Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: ‘Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
That's why Isaiah 54 goes on to say:
. . . this [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition,] is the heritage of the Lord. . .
[end quote The letter continues with more uplifting words.]
Now I am encouraged, because God always answers my prayers. He reminds me of His promises, and I know His faithfulness. He will bring good out of this situation.
Romans 8:28 (AMP)
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
My friends, if you are going through a battle right now, remember your adversary is the devil. Yes, he is putting everything he has into stealing and trying to destroy God’s kids. Do not allow anything to give him victory. Any negative in your life needs to be put into God’s hands. Trust Him with it remembering He loves you and wants only the best for you. Stand on His promises and He will bring all things to good. Though my day began with a lovely surprise: God decorated the earth in crystal beauty just for me (LOL), the day did turn into a challenge. Our Father is a good Dad who loves you and me. He began answering my prayers last evening, and I know that I know He will take care of the whole situation for me. He will do the same for you!
