Good morning Lord! I lift You up and praise Your glory! You are awesome and beautiful, more glorious than the sunrise that brightens the morning sky with vibrant oranges and pinks, and shades of red. You are brighter than the full moon shedding light to us earthlings at night. Your love warms our hearts like the sunshine after a storm refreshes and warms our souls. You are perfect in Your knowledge of us and all our needs; we might not always agree at the time, but it always turns out that You are right. Thank You Lord! I bow down to You this morning, my Lord, head to the ground in obeisance, pledging obedience to Your will as my God Whom I love with all my heart. You fill me up Lord; I am brimming over with joy at Your smile and the approval I’m feeling in Your gaze upon me. Thank You Lord! I so want to please You and bring honor to Your name! Holy Spirit please always guide my thoughts and my actions. My friends, I was just thinking again about our kids and their relationship with God, with Jesus. This relationship is critical to bringing them through this time in their lives, these preteen and teenage years. The enemy is so after our children and they are very vulnerable to his lies and deceits. When they hit emotional troubles and hearts are hurting, where do they go?
The enemy is right there to highlight negative feelings and thoughts. Often in this time the natural “fight for independence" brings conflict with parents, so this avenue can be cut off. They may have a good friend, or not. They may have a mentor at school, but they probably won't get a Christian view there. Perhaps a youth group leader at church could help, OR , thankfully, if they have a connection with Jesus, they can go there for sure help anytime.
Now this ‘connection’ must be real. Do they have an ongoing relationship with Jesus where they converse together? Do they hear His voice speaking to them? They can, you know. Remember what Jesus said:
John 10:27 (AMP)
The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.
We are able to hear His voice. We are the sheep of His pasture; He is our Shepherd. He loves us and cares for us. He laid down His life on our behalf. What more can we ask? Thank You Jesus for enduring such terrible torture for us.
Jesus desires a one on one closeness so we are able to sit and chat together. We can bring our questions, our troubles to Him. He will answer and help us. We can trust Him, but as humans, it is sometimes easier said than done. Trust comes with experience, so we speak about God and introduce Him to kids at an early age when possible; but any age is a good beginning in building a heart connection with Almighty God.
Have you yourself established a heart connection with God? Do you speak with Him and hear His still small voice in return?
