My heart is breaking! Just been told that a young friend of my nephew committed suicide. His note said he couldn’t live up to all the expectations put on him. He evidently didn’t know the Lord, or he would have a place to take his frustrations. Our society and it’s attack on Christianity has kept these youngsters from having a resource of strength that should be available to them. This death takes a toll not only on his family, but also on all those close who care about him and are now suffering too! Our society has been breeding a culture of death. Abortion gives no value to innocent babies except financial profit to sell body parts of aborted babies. Now laws are being passed to make suicide legal if someone might have to suffer pain. God's timing on all things is the best, and that includes dying. We do not know Almighty God's plans and thoughts, but they are always higher than ours.
I heard of a man in Oregon where an insurance company would not pay for a his cancer treatment, but would pay for his death by assisted suicide. Where are our values?
Isaiah 55:8-9 (AMP)
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.
It's time, my friends, for everyone of us to step up and step out in telling people about Christ and His love for them; this is especially needed by our young people.
Remember when you were preteen and teenagers? Besides all the physical and hormonal changes, they are also trying to begin their higher education challenges. Thus not just studies, but all the other challenges like bullying, or making new friends and trying to be accepted, fitting in, parental approval, independence. God knows how to help them, but we need to introduce them to Jesus, who loves them and will never let them down. It’s time, and it’s a responsibility we all share! With the attitude change in our new government, perhaps we now have a more open chance to help these kids and teach them about spiritual truths. Some have absolutely no concept that they have a spiritual side at all, or that it matters and is a good thing. Dear ones who have young children, please be there for your kids and teach them Christian truths and Christian principles! Don’t depend on the school because until now the schools were negating Jesus and spiritual concepts. Hopefully that will change, but it will take time. Meanwhile it’s up to parents and mentors, grandparents, and other believing members of the family to keep close to these precious children and see the truth is sown into their spirits.
God has a plan for their lives; they can get through this time!
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Take them by the spiritual hand and gently guide them to the beautiful Christ who gave up His life for us, who suffered terribly so we could be free. Don’t let this gift be wasted by denying the evil machinations of the devil who captures our children by lies and deceptions. Give kids the weapons they need to get through this troubled time in their lives.
And pray for them daily! Lift them up and put supernatural protection around them, angels to watch over them and lead them on the true path. Jesus is the light in the darkness and their ever present help in storms. He is always close by. Teach the children how to pray, how to have a personal relationship with God. Let's save our children!
