Teen Torments

Jumping into the telephone booth, he tears off the business suit revealing Superman clothes; then he jumps into the sky and swiftly flies away to fight evil. Memories recall this hero of my youth. Today there are superheroes of all kinds for our kids to watch; they, however, are filled with violence drawing the kids into their action oriented adventures. Sometimes identifying who is good and who is evil becomes difficult.

Our kids are getting addicted to fast moving action, but where is 'rest' in their lives? Where will they find quiet time to spend with our Lord? Their minds are being trained to always be moving, never still. Yet God tells us:

Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

In these end times our youth are desperately in need of a relationship with God, yet the enemy is very cunning in filling their heads with the opposite of what they need. What is the result? Another attempted suicide of a teenager. My heart aches for them! How bereft and hopeless they must feel in order to try to end their life to stop the agony in their heart.

Puberty is such a difficult time for kids; their hormones are changing and they face different challenges as their school years develop increasing intensity. Lord, their hearts are sometimes broken, their wills attacked, their self concept can be torn apart.

Lord I lift up those who physically have not yet become as ‘perfect’ as their classmates. They are too big or too small, too smart or challenged in studies; so many new areas to deal with in their emotions and minds.

And new laws being ordained are making it worse. They want to force our kids to share bathrooms and showers~ boys and girls. This evil plan opens the door to even more abuse upon our kids. Please pray for our children and in our coming election vote to help our children, not add to their burden. We need God back in our nation, and only He has the answers to help our children. Vote for the candidate who is most open to allowing God to work through them. [Mr. Trump does now listen to Godly advisors; he is open.]

Meanwhile, we ask You Lord, show parents how to recognize the difficulties facing their teens and preteens. Teach them what each of their kids need and how to help them. Each child is an individual and so their choices reflect this. Unfortunately, some choose suicide as an answer. Well Lord, I ask You to give parents, friends, teachers warnings well ahead of the kids feeling so despairing as to choose to end their life to end their misery.

Friends, pray that God will open your eyes to see what kids may be hiding. if not your own child, maybe it’s a friend of your children who is suffering. Ask for discernment and wisdom, your eyes to be opened to see. Let an air of searching always be initiated for discovering the needs, the hurts, the pain of children under siege of the enemy. Ask God for the grace to see and the wisdom to speak words that will help.

Oh, God! My heart breaks for some of these kids that are feeling tormented by bullying, the destruction of their self-concept, and no one to talk with who can help. A lone leaf fallen and trampled into the ground. God, I ask You for grace to help these children.

Bring each one under Your special care placing in their lives, mentors who can help them know they are loved and worthy of love. Lord, bring them to know You! Place a shield around schools and bring programs to them that will open eyes and hearts of fellow students.

Pray, my friends, for our children all over the world, that they may come to know the amazing love God has for them. You can be the carrier of that love; pray for God to open your eyes to all who need your input to receive Jesus love.

P.S. Election day is very close. Please do your God given duty and vote. Pray to know who to vote for.
