GOD has been so good to me, so faithful and true! On this my most significant birthday so far, You gave me a new promise Lord. It's not new in that I never heard it before; it’s new as a promise from You. Sometimes my memory gets blocked, and that drawer where it’s kept won’t open right away. It reminds me of my Mom when she began falling under the Alzheimer attack. I admit it was scary.
Then You gave me this Scripture:
1 Corinthians 2:16 (AMPC)
For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes)
of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge?
But we have the mind of Christ
and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.
I have the mind of Christ! Christ had a wonderful mind. He never forgot things; His thoughts were crystal clear, and connected with Father God. I have the mind of Christ so I do not forget things, and my thoughts are crystal clear, and my mind is connected with Holy Spirit. I feel like dancing and singing! “I have the mind of Christ”! It is a lovely promise for my birthday! Also I hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. My friends how good our God is!!
Thinking a little deeper, if all of us want to communicate with God’s spirit it must be spirit to Spirit. When we have accepted Jesus' gift of salvation and choose Him as the Lord of our life, He sends us His Holy Spirit. We have spirit to Spirit open communication. We can then begin to build a relationship with Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Holy Trinity, because He really loves us deeply and intimately. I have only learned this in the last year, but oh what a difference it has made! Holy Spirit has become so close, and i love being with Him in my quiet time; but He also reminds me frequently that He is always with me.
I smile just thinking of Him! He guides me into all truth, so He slips new understanding and concepts into my mind, and suddenly I ‘know’ things. LOL He is fun too! And now I just discovered the Word that explains it:
Ephesians 1:17-18 (AMPC)
17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of glory,
that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation
[of insight into mysteries and secrets]
in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light,
so that you can know and understand
the hope to which He has called you,
and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
The New King James Version puts it this way: 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; He opens my spiritual eyes to things I did not understand before, or sheds light on Scriptures I previously just read without seeing their application to my life. He provides us with all the help we need to see THE truth and to live by it. Building a relationship with God is a most important choice, and since He wants that so much too, He helps us to do it.
Deuteronomy 4:29 (AMPC)
But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity)
the Lord your God, you will find Him if you [truly] seek Him with all your heart
[and mind] and soul and life.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and]
heart and with your entire being and with all your might.
6 And these words which I am commanding you this day
shall be [first] in your [own] minds and hearts;
Living life this way is so enjoyable! God walks me through situations that would be no fun if I was trying to do it by myself. He teaches me, mentors me through my thoughts, my emotions, and helps me set my will correctly. It’s a paradigm shift way of thinking and making decisions.
Sometimes I get going too fast and forget my constant companion, and then I can get into trouble. So i have to take a breath and remind myself to slow down and take one step at a time reconnecting with Holy Spirit in my mind. You know, it keeps life from getting too complicated. Do you find this works for you too? Do you have an intimate relationship with God? With Jesus? With Holy Spirit? I highly advise it for those who want a full life of purpose and joy.
