Did you know we are born with the sin nature in our heritage? From the day we are born we demand our wants to be catered to. Of course! A baby's awareness level is naturally limited. Their vulnerability is what makes them so precious and dear to us. But as they grow we begin to educate them to the fact that they are not the center of the universe, and it's not an easy lesson. Our nature fights against it; for we are born with this sin nature.
John 8:44 (NLV)
The devil is your father. You are from him.
You want to do the sinful things your father, the devil,
wants you to do.
He has been a killer from the beginning.
The devil has nothing to do with the truth.
There is no truth in him. It is expected of the devil to lie,
for he is a liar and the father of lies.
But God has a plan to rescue us; He sent Jesus to accomplish 2 major tasks:
1. teach us about who Father God is
2. to take the sin of the world on Himself and pay off that sin debt, that ‘mortgage’ on our life, bringing us the opportunity to choose His way and be cleansed, debt free.
John 3:16 (AMP)
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
All we need do is to accept that we are sinners in need of redemption, and thank Jesus for paying off our debt (‘mortgage’). He paid it in His own shed blood. What can we do for Him? All He desires is that we repent of our sins and accept His love gift. When we do that, it changes us; we are reborn with God's nature of love. It's like a paradigm shift. Our blind eyes are opened, our new view sees God's goodness, truth and love.
James 3:17-18 AMP
But the wisdom from above is first pure [morally and spirituallyundefiled)
then peace-loving [courteous, considerate], gentle, reasonable
[and willing to listen], full of compassion and good fruits.
It is unwavering, without [self-righteous] hypocrisy [and self-serving guile].
And the seed whose fruit is righteousness (spiritual maturity)
is sown in peace by those who make peace
[by actively encouraging goodwill between individuals].
From there Jesus helps us live our lives in goodness and truth. Accepting Jesus' gift is also like a "voucher" to enter heaven as we pass through death into Jesus arms. Jesus also sends us His Holy Spirit to live in us, to teach us, and to help us discern truth. He blesses us with everything we need to grow into whom He created us to be. My God is great in love and justice and mercy.
Pride is the deadliest of sins. It occurs when we decide our minds are higher than God, that our mind can judge His Word and its truth~ that is pride and that can send us to hell for all eternity. When we think we can judge God’s actions, then we are putting ourselves above God. Really? You think you are wise enough to critique God’s Word, or God’s actions? You think you are holier than God? It’s like you carry your God around with you in this little box, and if he gets out of line with your thoughts of goodness and evil, you can just throw him in the river. . . along with your welcome into heaven.
Ecclesiastes 11:5 AMPC
As you know not what is the way of the wind,
or how the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a pregnant woman,
even so you know not the work of God, Who does all.
God loves us dearly and passionately; He gave us a free will, because He wants His kids to choose to love Him too. He allows us the choice even when it makes Him sad. He created us to live in heaven enjoying life with Him for all eternity. Satan intervened and corrupted mankind with his smooth talking deceitful words and ways. When Adam chose to believe satan over God, Adam lost paradise for us all.
God’s plan is in place to redeem paradise for us. But we have to humble ourselves before Him, trust Him to know the truth and teach it to us. It’s all there for us, but our pride can steal it away, and the devil is working hard to deceive us, blinding our spiritual eyes, using our pride as a tool to make his lies seem logical to us. In truth it is damning. It will land us in hell for all eternity.
My friends, we won’t live forever in these temporary bodies. No one knows how long we have before death will come. It will either come to steal us away to never ending torture of hell; or it will come for Jesus to welcome us into eternity with Him, for He defeated death and made it a simple passage through Him as the Door into eternal life of love and joys beyond our imagination ~ never ending. . . like this beautiful picture from Patricia Eddy seems to portray, joys beyond our imagination.
In Deuteronomy the Lord says:
Deuteronomy 30:19 (AMPC)
I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you
that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses;
therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.
Listen please, my friends, and choose life!
