Altar the Pattern

God is so gracious! It feels like the demon of distraction has run rampant over my life in the last few weeks. I come to my quiet time, and so many thoughts take off in different directions, and my discipline goes down rabbit trails. Like Alice in Wonderland chasing the rabbit always in a hurry, off my mind goes down the hole of imagination or concern searching for things other than my Lord's face.

Today I am determined again to seek His face~ find His heart, like a hound dog, keep my nose to the ground until I rediscover His loving smile, His heart, His will, the stillness of joy that announces His Presence.

A sigh. He is here. I love You, my Lord. I so love being with You, and I get really excited knowing that in eternity I shall walk beside You as we speak of many things. You shall always be my teacher, my beloved Messiah, my devoted Father. And since I have followed Your Word and invited Jesus to be Lord of my life, I know I shall walk eternally with You.

John 3:16 (AMP)
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world,
that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son,
so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior]
shall not perish, but have eternal life.

My God, You have so lovingly sent Your Holy Spirit to love me and teach me all Your ways. He is always with me and never leaves me. I am eternally connected to You. I can depend on Your protection and wisdom to be with me (when I keep my ears open to hear and obey Your voice.) I love You and choose to give my body as a living sacrifice to You. Use me for Your work!

Romans 12:1 Living Bible
And so, dear brothers,
I plead with you to give your bodies to God.
Let them be a living sacrifice,
holy—the kind he can accept.
When you think of what he has done for you,
is this too much to ask?

                                            Romans 12:2 (AMPC)
Do not be conformed to this world (this age),
[fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs],
but be transformed (changed)
by the [entire] renewal of your mind
[by its new ideals and its new attitude],
so that you may prove [for yourselves]
what is the good and acceptable
and perfect will of God,
even the thing which is good and
acceptable and perfect
[in His sight for you].

Lord, I choose to conform myself to You not the world. It’s like a dress pattern. I originally buy a pattern to sew the dress pictured on the front of the package. But then I realize this dress is no longer me; it’s much too immodest and that is not who God made me to be. So I begin adjusting the pattern, lifting here, adding there until the pattern can create a dress more like who I have become, a child of God. The completed project pleases me and my Father! Your grace delivers me whenever I need it and request it Lord. So now I use the Bible as the pattern. When I change my thoughts and imaginings to Biblical wisdom, ! change to conform me to be who You created me to become. Do you follow this pattern also?
