Soothe the Nightmare

Woke up in a cold sweat gasping! The nightmare scared me inside out. That rarely happens to me, and it left an unreal niggling little fear. I got up and drank some water, then returned to my warm covers and began to seek the Lord. I praised Him and His awesome creation, His beauty and His faithfulness. This began to seep into a a cool washing of my soul, cleansing it from the evil droppings of the dream. My Lord, I don’t know where that came from, but thank You for rescuing me from its nasty grip!

He is my shield and my fortress! No matter what attack the enemy sends against, My God is stronger and I can always rest in His protection! His strength surrounds and soaks into my soul, so that with Him I can stand against anything! That is His promise to all of us!

Psalm 73:25-26 AMP
Whom have I in heaven [but You]?
And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
But God is the rock and strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

My God, thank You! This life is so good because You are good. You love us so much, that You never leave us to fight our battles alone. We always have You to help us, to stand with us in every circumstance, in choices we must make, and  in  guiding us along life’s path. Thus stress is rare because of Your faithfulness. One of my favorite things Father, is that even when I get into trouble of my own making, You stick with me and lift me out of the pit. How do people go through life without You beside them?

My friends, if you do not have this close personal relationship with God, choose today to pursue it! I’m telling you, life with God is good! Good for the heart, good for the gut, good for inner peace, good for love, good for family, good for just living this life, good for our future life. There is nothing better than a life with our loving Lord God. He loves us and has prepared a good life for us when we choose to accept Jesus’ sacrifice for us and walk in His ways.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art],
created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed,
renewed, ready to be used] for good works,
which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set],
so that we would walk in them
[living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].

God has made a way for us; we just need to walk in it for a good life.
