Chill Winds vs Warm Love

Another beautiful Japanese word is “Kogarashi”. It’s the cold wind that lets us know of the arrival of winter.

I wonder if it can be a metaphysical wind too?

Maverick, my Newfoundland pup, sat straight up on his bed, head raised, ears up. A soft “woof” came from his mouth before he dashed to the door. By now I was spooked. Who was there? Hair was a ridge along his back, and stood up on the back of my neck too). Dark shadows seemed to slither in the black starless night, and a creeping board on the porch was the only sound~ until a loud crash caused us both to jump straight up into the air. Maverick began barking raucously as the sound of hurried scurrying left the patio.

I ran to the window just in time to see a huge raccoon going under the fence. A big sigh of relief escaped my chest and laughter flooded my throat and mouth. Maverick sat back and stared at me until I called him over for a rub down.

Attacks from the evil enemy can sometimes feel like that. In the spirit it seems to be like a chill creeping up the spine, and an alertness to the mind. Eyes searching all around for something amiss. There is a knowing that something is not right. A vigilant status is called up; what is wrong? Don’t know yet, but I have a comfort~ I know the Holy Spirit is always with me and He knows the situation. So despite the cold breeze of possible adversity warning me of a storm on the way, I’m calmed by the warmth of  His love.

Are you ever spooked by strange warning feelings? Do you have a relationship with God that brings comfort knowing He will never leave you nor forsake you, thus you have nothing to fear? Do you trust His protection of you? Some days when I feel weary and weak, I’m a perfect target for the enemy attack. It’s a vulnerable time, but I’m so thankful that I have God's Word to strengthen my inner valor and a  strong guard who protects me. Just look at these words Moses spoke to Joshua. God speaks the same to us~

Deuteronomy 31:7-8 (MSG)
. . .  “Be strong. Take courage.  . .
God is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you.
He won’t let you down; He won’t leave you.
Don’t be intimidated. Don’t worry.”

These same words are addressed to you and me.
