I made it! Watched grankids for 11 days. There was a time when I had three of my own to raise; and they were all close in age, so it was a challenge as all parenting is. But with the addition of age in the mix, truthfully, I could not have done it without God.
He is my strength. He put words of wisdom in my mouth, and covered my soul with patience. I am so grateful to Him!
It seems as though the last month and a half has been a no man’s land, a period sliced out of time filled with balls on a pool table being shot this way and that then landing in various pockets. Finally the game is over, the pockets full. The future lies before me in a pasture of wide open spaces.
I look to my God to fill in the pathways taking me to His goals. I'll return to routine of beginning each day spending time with the Lord, just me and Him together, talking, being led in His Word, praying for family, friends, our nation, and other nations of the world; but mostly just being in His presence communing with Him. He’s my Dad and I love Him.
This must be a cruise-n-snooze day, a mental, physical catch up day. Exhaustion has been creeping up as my Lord kept me on course. Yesterday crumbling of inner construction was evident in the things going on (I got a speeding ticket which never happens), thought I paid cash for something and found it on my charges. So its time for refresh and renew~ Quiet time then cruise (TV) and snooze. Mind ‘closed for repairs’.
This day, my friends, I bid you all blessings from the Father! May you all have the rest you need when you need it. Praying you live in the “rest of the Lord”. . .
Hebrews 4:1-3 AMP
Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still remains and is freely offered today,
let us fear, in case any one of you may seem to come short of reaching it
or think he has come too late.
2 For indeed we have had the good news [of salvation] preached to us,
just as the Israelites also [when the good news of the promised land came to them];
but the message they heard did not benefit them,
because it was not united with faith [in God] by those who heard.
3 For we who believe [that is, we who personally trust and confidently rely on God]
enter that rest [so we have His inner peace now
because we are confident in our salvation, and assured of His power],
And I really like verse 9 because it is what I desperately need right now. Are you in a space of needing rest like only God can provide?
9 So there remains a [full and complete] Sabbath rest for the people of God.
10 For the one who has once entered His rest
has also rested from [the weariness and pain of] his [human] labors,
just as God rested from [those labors uniquely] His own.
