Not being in the Word for a period of time leaves me vulnerable to satan’s deceits entering my mind; especially when I am in a place known as sin city. Here it's almost in the air. The dress of the women selling lust walking around as though it were natural. Greed drifting over the swirling numbers. . . Lord, I’m sorry. I found myself looking at the world’s problems from a natural point of view. This migration of refugees is a sorrowful situation. That the world courts are allowing ISIS to drive them out is beyond belief. And ISIS is surely sending their spies along with the refugees. World courts have also given Iran the ability to have nuclear power. So the whole world is in danger. And Your people of faith, Lord, are being persecuted for that faith.
Looking at all this from a worldly angle could stir up fear and anger. But God! You mighty God, are our “secret weapon”. By thinking of the terrible power of the enemy, of his never sleeping watchfulness, and of the way in which he has stirred up evil all over the earth, is a sure way to bring forth fear in our hearts.
But I look at Paul and Silas chained in a dungeon; by physical standards it was a difficult situation, yet they responded by singing praises to God. God’s response was to free them. My reply to the enemy's temptations to doubt and fear is: I shall trust in the Lord my God and commit myself to His goodness and power.
Jesus played His part by redeeming us from sin thus giving us the opportunity for a personal relationship with God, and gaining victory over the enemy for us.
You, Lord, have always had a plan for the end days, and I don’t believe that plan includes the destruction of this nation that You created, or of the world. I choose to trust in You Lord and in the plan I know You have. Help me, Holy Spirit, to keep my eyes on You, to hear Your voice. Lord teach me how to completely fulfill my part in Your plan.
For a short time I had my angry solution for it all; however, I know it is not the same as God’s. I need to remember that His thoughts are so far beyond mine!
Isaiah 55:8-10 (AMP)
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.
He knows the end of every story and every line in it, He is the Author of this tale of the earth. So Father, I thank You for the privilege of being a character in this story, and I ask You to help me play my part well. Teach me Holy Spirit; guide me.
Have you prayed about the part God has given you to play in this tale of life? Do you know and are you working in your assigned position? If not, it may be time to talk with God for His input into the drama of your life. He can help make it a happy success rather than a tragedy.
