Love Gifts

Jesus and I were walking through the woods and though it was a hot muggy day, we were cool under the canopy of leaves. "My small gifts", Jesus said, "are often overlooked and taken for granted"  But walking into the cool of the woods from the heat of summer’s sun, is a gift indeed. "My Father’s plans for His children at creation were good in every detail."

Genesis 1: 31
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.
And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

Our path led to a small ravine, and at the bottom ran a shallow creek. Here was evidence of children's fun, an echo of laughter. A rope hung from a higher limb and we could see how the kids would swing from one side of the water to the other perhaps playing Tarzan. Larger moss covered rocks dotted the stream and were used for crossing, though they could also be slippery dumping the jumper into the creek.

In the water lived small crawdads and tadpoles, new life for the children to experience and learn about. Walking with Jesus brought a pattern into view. From creation onward God had a vision and a detailed plan for the earth and the gifts He brought  forth and our place in it.

Jesus smiled as He saw understanding growing in my mind. Yes, God planned the smallest details and saw they were good; that includes plans for my life, good plans.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future

At creation He knew when I would be born and all the circumstances of my life. Jesus You chose to come to earth as a human being to teach us about our Father, and to pay the debt price for our sins. Because of You, I am free to live a good life growing more like You, understanding truth, learning love. My path is clear. As I walk I know there will be streams to cross and slippery rocks to fall from, but with You at my side I have no fear Jesus.

In the grand scheme of things there is God. He loves us dearly and walks with us through life as our Guide and Savior. No problem is too great for Him to solve. Trust Him. No sorrow is too deep for Him to comfort. Trust Him. Find your answer in His Word. Trust in Him!
