‘Rain rain go away come again another day.’ So went the childhood chant. It comes to mind because of the unusual number of grey sky days we’ve had in a row here this May! Rainfall throughout every day and even snow fell during this unusual time. As we chant “go away” other parts of our country cry, “yes, come our way!” While other places suffer drought, here, so much rain produced flash floods, water in basements, many troubles for folks, losses and even loss of life. Now I have always liked rain and walking in the rain. It has a cleansing feeling. I thank God for His gift of rain while asking His help for those who have suffered loss through the storms.
Jenny sits in the middle of the street as rain strikes down all around. So wet. Drenched clear through as driving rain pummels her clothes. “Why don’t I get up and out of the rain?” she is asked, “Where would I go? This rain never ends. My home is washed away.”
Epidemic. Thousands suffering and dying by a swiftly spreading unknown virus. Fear is raging as the death count soars. There is no escape from this valley of death. Hopelessness sinks into the people.
Sin abounds as the enemy sows his demon assignments across the world. It’s everywhere permeating hearts with lies and deceptions. Wrong is right. Feeling good is paramount. My convenience is the decision maker. If it feels good, do it. Killing their children will make them fear. Oh, yeah, satan is doing a good job spreading evil. The stench of his pollution is striking down hearts everywhere like a plague; the disease is hopelessness.
One of the enemy’s favorite weapon is to make a situation seem hopeless. The cure is to burrow into Gods love, come to know Him. God is a Father who loves us, and love is a powerful antidote to hopelessness. God would pick up Jenny and lead her to a shelter of loving people. He would give vision for a cure of the plague. He is the answer and He works in our lives for good always! So if you think your situation is hopeless, invite God's supernatural power into it!
Psalm 40:17 (NKJV)
But I am poor and needy;
Yet the Lord thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Do not delay, O my God.
Do you have a troublesome situation in your life today? Do not allow the enemy to drag you into a pit, but go to God with love and trust. Meditate on this quote from Andrew Womack "How to Become a Water Walker" :
You can't afford to take your eyes off Jesus! Spend time in the Word, in prayer, denying your five senses, and fellowshiping with God. When you pray, your five senses are going to ask, "Who are you talking to? I can't see anybody. I can't hear anyone. I don't feel anybody here." But if you persist in prayer and relationship with God, you'll begin to experience miracles. There will be tangible proof that God is there and that He's talking to you. After a while, your senses will say, "Oh, there's another sense that I wasn't aware of. Whatever faith says is true" and you'll get to where your senses will bow and yield to faith. When you spend time in the presence of the Lord, your heart becomes sensitive to Him. It's just that simple!
Your answer comes when you "Spend time in the Word and fellowshipping with God."
