My Lord, time is scurrying along with definite purpose, but I’m not certain of what that purpose is in my life?
Romans 11:33 AMP
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments
(His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable)
are His ways (His methods, His paths)!
But Romans 8:28 says all things happen for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose:
Romans 8:28 (AMP)
We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor]
all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good
to and for those who love God and are called
according to [His] design and purpose.
So I know God can accomplish His plan for my life. Yet I see age creeping up on my body as another birthday swings around. Does it bother me? A little. Yet, my God loves me deeply and purposefully. Look at what He says:
Zephaniah 3:17 AMP
The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior
[Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy;
He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love
He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them];
He will exult over you with singing.
Guess, Lord, I don’t need to know all Your purpose for what You do, even what Your plans are for my life. I just am called to trust You with the unknowns, and that works for me. :)) I am here as I am. I walk in Your ways as much as I know them. I listen for Your instructions. I purposefully lovingly spend time together with You each morning. Your Presence makes me smile. Thank You for Your Presence!
Refuse myself coffee? And do it with good cheer? Know that He asks only what is for my good. I love Him more than I love coffee. Obedience is greater than sacrifice. It is a word in the Old Testament as well as in the New Testament:
Deuteronomy 8:5-7 (NIV)
Know then in your heart
that as a man disciplines his son,
so the Lord your God
6 Observe the commands of the Lord your God,
walking in obedience to him and revering him.
7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—
a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs
gushing out into the valleys and hills;
1 Corinthians 8:3 (AMP)
3 But if one loves God truly [with affectionate reverence,
prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing],
he is known by God [recognized as worthy of His intimacy and love,
and he is owned by Him].
You are my God;I am Yours. I trust You and I love you!
Do you have times when God asks difficult things of you? When was the last time God asked something tough for you to do?
