Everything seemed to be a jumbled mess. A busy couple of months had me gasping for peace. But it was not to be. Plans continued to be completed as days marched forward in double time. It was Mother’s Day weekend and plans had not been made. Seems everyone's life had been challenging the last few months. So here it was Friday night and I’m trying to hunt down a reservation in a place to get together with the girls and their families for a meal. We had grandkids with us and needed to return them to their parents Sunday after church. So Saturday I’m still working on it and hear that we’re due 10 to 12 inches of snow! Oh no! We have to drive over 30 miles to meet up. Finally I have to just turn it over, so I call upon my favorite Scripture~
Psalm 138:8 (AMP)
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
He did. The snow was less than predicted. The temperature was not so cold, snow melted, and roads were perfect. We had a delightful lunch with daughter and the boys, then we had a wonderful supper with our other daughter and family. Only disappointment was middle daughter was sick. But God worked it all out in His perfect way. Why did I stress? My God is faithful!
Sometimes I allow situations to hassle me and I hope some day I will get to the point of giving it ALL to Him immediately. Then that tightening of the muscles, that brain bail out, the wrinkle creating facial scrunching, the sharp words would be eliminated. Breathing would be relaxed and I’d casually go about my business knowing that everything was in good hands.
Being in His Presence provides such a tranquil feeling. I read this recently and saw the truth of it: It allows rest, and it’s in resting that He will enable You to do the rest, to do your plan, to carry out what He’s called you to do. So sit back, relax in Him. Rest in His Words that you know He’s spoken to you.
What greater gift do we need? When was the last time you peacefully depended on God to lift you out of, or to fix a situation?
