Soft breeze touch of Your hand caresses my cheek. Fountain music plays its soothing song on the waters. Birds walk around seeking crumbs. The quiet joy beguiles all. Peace invades my being like butter melting on a hot biscuit.
A different story begins in the middle hours of the night which are fraught with demon worries~ until, a voice whispers thru the din:
“Do you trust Me Mary?”
“Oh Lord. I do trust you! Why do I allow these thoughts in? I know, Lord, it’s because I cannot control the situation. I so want to make everything better, but it’s not my place is it? I put the trouble in Your hands trusting in Your Word:
Psalm 138:8 (AMP) The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
and knowing You will cause all things to come out well. That’s faith. It’s not easy, but it brings tranquility when I trust in You Lord.” Sigh. Soon sleep consumes my consciousness again.
Morning light calls for me to quietly prepare for the day, slip out of our room and go to the outside lobby of our hotel. Street noises announce the business of the day is calling to workers, but the softness of the gentle wind the lush green of surrounding flora, and the sound of a waterfall singing bring peace to my little getaway. A new day begins.
Do you have times when situations seem overwhelming, maybe keeping you awake at night? How do you deal with them?
