How Do You See Yourself?

Yesterday was a spiritual battle all day long. One of those days that feel like I’m walking through a cloud of gloom. Emotionally exhausted, i finally laid down on the couch in resignation, almost depression. Stayed there most of the rest of the day. Wow! This is so rare for me! So before going to sleep, I talked with the Lord explaining we needed to have a little chat next morning.

Our God is so faithful! I’d recently been asking Holy Spirit for a deeper revelation of His heart. This morning as I began to talk to God and praise Him, I could feel Holy Spirit blow in my face a gentle freshening wind. Wow! A newness of mind and spirit followed.

There was a reading I had downloaded into my journal the night before, and as I began to study it, my mind stood up and took it in by gulps! It wasn’t a little pudding, but a mighty helping of meat and potatoes! New thoughts, new ways of perceiving, a deeper revelation began. You see I’ve really been hungry for more of God, and recently I got a revelation new to me, that the Holy Spirit, Who indwells me, loves me, personally.  He wasn’t a passing shadowy spirit! No, He is a Person, the third Person of the Trinity and He cherishes me, Mary!

So as i read GPAN this morning, I see it clarified:
The Holy Spirit is not a force or a power. He is the third Person of the Trinity. He is co-equal with the Father because He is the Spirit of the Father. All that the Father is, He is, for He is the essence of the Father. He is co-equal with Jesus, the Son of God, because He is the Spirit of Jesus. There is no attribute of the Father or of Jesus that is not found in the Person of the Holy Spirit. All the love, grace, mercy, kindness, wisdom, knowledge, and power of the God-head is invested in Him.

God is so good! He rivets the truth in me! [rivet: 1. attract and completely engross; 2. a short metal pin or bolt for holding together two plates of metal, its headless end being pressed down or beaten out when in place.]
God has totally engrossed me in this truth about Holy Spirit, and He has riveted it into me so I will never forget it! What an amazing God we serve!! How I do love Him!!

The second revelation is so powerful for me and for all believers! Listen to this truth and let God rivet it into your spirit! "God does not see us in a decrepit state, nor as people full of sin or people who do not make the mark or who are struggling. Rather, God sees us:

  • the way He sees Jesus Christ.
  • in the fullness of Himself.
  • in the power of His might.
  • in the unction of His Spirit.
  • in the authority of the Word.
  • in the strength of His glory.
  • in the power of His might.
  • He sees us walking in the glory,
  • walking in the power,
  • walking in completeness,
  • as an ambassador who is exchanging this world for the power of the kingdom of God ."

We need to see ourselves as God sees us! So this glory that the Lord is talking about is a view of ourself in Him and we all with open face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord are transformed and changed into that same image from glory to glory, even by the Spirit of God!

1 Corinthians 13:12 NKJ
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.
Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

1 Corinthians 13:12 NLV
Now that which we see is as if we were looking in a broken mirror.
But then we will see everything. Now I know only a part.
But then I will know everything in a perfect way.
That is how God knows me right now.

How God knows me right now~ He sees me right now, I AM right now as God sees me. I ask God to help me see me as transformed and changed into the image that He sees. I want to see myself without the debris of negative limitations that the world views in me, that i see in me. I want to see me as God sees me!

How about you? How do you see yourself?
