Climb Any Mountain

Watching the mountain climber swinging beneath the overhang, my stomach was in knots of concern for him. Then the camera showed a close up of his face, and it exposed no fear. Despite the thousand foot fall below, his face showed only determination as his eyes searched for the next move. Slowly I watched his body begin to swing. I closed my eyes in prayer for him. When I looked again he had maneuvered himself into a position to move on with the climb.

This climber was in a death defying struggle against the mountain, but was unafraid. Why? He had practiced this situation over and over; he had built up his body strength for just this type of event. He was confident of his ability to perform the moves that would get him beyond the obstacle of the overhang.

Butterflies still flutter in my stomach as I watch my dear friend climb and overcome obstacles on his way up the adversary to claim victory! Later over coffee he questions me about my struggles. This brave guy says he would never want to deal with my challenges; how do I do it and always seem so happy?

My challenges are also death defying, but I do not have to do it alone. Once perhaps I felt like a small flower in the middle of  desolation; then I learned Who made me with His gentle love. I now have One who is greater than death and walks within me every step of the way! His supernatural Words pour strength into my soul and my spirit. Fear never can get to me; I'm under His shield!

My friend built up his body strength and his will for the climbs. Just so have I built up my spirit and my soul for the battle. Each morning I spend time in relationship speaking with my Father God. As I devour His Word, we talk about it and Holy Spirit brings clarity to what I may not understand. I trust Him completely and know all things will work out well. Jesus fills me with His joy, and that strength carries me over many obstacles.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 has a wonderful line pointing out the marvelous living nature of the Word: but as it truly is, the Word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and trust in and rely on it].

Our God is so good! He not only gave us the Owner’s Manual for life, but  endowed it with supernaturally powerful Words. You, Lord, back the Words in the Bible. As I read, study and meditate on Your Word, it goes into me, my mind, my thoughts, my spirit and nourishes my soul as food nourishes the body. I can depend on You, rely on Your love for me as expressed in the Word. I am released from fear into victory in any situation I face; I am never alone, for You promise You are always with me.

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you;
he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Hebrews 13:5 [Full Chapter]
. . . be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have];
for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up
nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

How rich am I to intimately know my Father God and walk through life with His supernatural help! Do you have this intimate relationship with God? It is worth every effort! No matter what your mountain is, God is ready and willing to help you climb it! Just ask.
