Fallen autumn colored leaves softened the path. It was a beautiful day in October for a walk in the mountain woods; not long after beginning, I became aware of a note behind the bird calls, a noise. Curious, I began following a path through the trees leading me nearer to the sound. As the trail led farther down, a thunderous roar echoed through the forest. I am closer, and it must be just ahead. . .
Yes, there it is~ a crashing waterfall and a flooding river rushing down the mountain with power and strength dragging away anything getting in its path. The torrent appears to be clawing at the very rocks to steal them for itself, but their massive strength holds firmly to the ground. There is an energy here in this place, an excitement that grabs at a deep spot within. Its like the very power of God is let loose here, a resounding rumble of pure energy! My spirit expands in a God-force such as this. I stand in awe of the dominance of the water and its deafening roar. I am spellbound. Moments like this are uncommon and intoxicating in their God power. Yes, it's His exalting glory that rings out in the reverberations of His creation.
The grandness of this experience deposits strength into my spirit. O my God! You are all loving! Let this place become in my memory a reservoir of refreshment. When feeling depleted, I can retreat into this memory to be replenished. But then again, You are so faithful, my God, to provide whatever I need, there will always be new refreshment from You.
1 Corinthians 10:4 (AMP)
And they all drank the same spiritual (supernaturally given) drink.
For they drank from a spiritual Rock which followed them
[produced by the sole power of God Himself
without natural instrumentality],
and the Rock was Christ.
Yes, You provide all we need. Jesus is our Rock. He is our strength and power, and our joy! Thank You Lord!
