You and I are spirits who are learning to walk a human journey. Truly we are spirits who live in a body and have a soul. Fortunately, we have Jesus who leads the way for our human journey; He created the path that leads to fulfillment. As people who have chosen to follow Jesus and ask for His indwelling presence, we are translated into His Kingdom.
Colossians 1:13 (AMP)
[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself
out of the control and the dominion of darkness
and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
Once we make a heart change by choosing to live for Jesus, we are out of the control and dominion of darkness. Our home is the Kingdom; but we go into the world for our work. Living in the kingdom means we walk each day in His presence; we daily spend time meeting one on one with Him; we choose to be obedient to His will, and in so doing we live in the promises of His Word. Our work is to become who He created us to be, and to go into the world and bring others into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, sharing the joy of living in His love.
The travels are not always easy, for there are evil spirits who attack with cunning and deceit. A couple of days ago their darkness was like a cowl over me. It made me “feel” like withdrawing from people. I sensed it was an attack, but the accompanying tiredness made me vulnerable. I went home and slept for 4 hours. It required prayer and spending time with the Lord to fight it off. The enemy will try to take us down, because as we walk our earthly journey, we’ve chosen to live as King Jesus ambassadors to the world where satan reigns.
This is the battle in the spirit realm between good and evil. Evil will attack to try and stop us from growing into the fullness of our destiny. But our Father God has provided weapons for us. These are found in His Word in Ephesians:
Ephesians 6:10-18 (AMP)
10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,
15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness
produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.
16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].
17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.
18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints
(God’s consecrated people).
We must know our weapons and practice using them in preparation for the battles that are sure to come. Have you experienced a battle with evil recently?
