A child kills classmates. A man assaults a woman. A baby is abused and killed. So much sin abounds in our world, and it gets worse every day. It so saddens my heart, because there is an answer for the world. We have a God who loves us truly, dearly, and so wants us to know it!
Even when we are still sinners guilty of every iniquity, every sin of the flesh, our God loves us. A parent loves their sons and daughters even when they are disobedient and rebellious. God loves us as His children even when we are disobedient and rebellious. God loves us so much He sent Jesus, His Son, to save us. Jesus was the only one who could pay the huge price of the sin debt. Not only did Jesus pay the debt, but He offers new life to us. No matter how far we have sunk into sin, Jesus will raise us up out of the gunk and wash us off, if we repent and ask Him to reign in our lives.
Let us look at what the Scriptures say:
Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own]
shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive
together in fellowship and in union with Christ;
[He gave us the very life of Christ Himself,
the same new life with which He quickened Him, for]
it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve)
that you are saved
(delivered from judgment and
made partakers of Christ’s salvation). . .
Jesus is the only way out of the ring of sin and death. The enemy kicks us down through lies and deception, but Jesus will lift us up with truth. When we choose Jesus, He offers to take the “old man with the sinful nature” [who lives inside of us] through death of the cross with Himself, killing the “old man” and raising up the “new man with the godly nature” in glorious resurrection with Him. We become new! My own experience was like a paradigm shift. I began to see all things in a new light, a new perspective. My sight was restored to see things through the eyes of God.
Now the new man is raised with Christ and
now seated in the heavenly place with Christ)
6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One)
We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. (The old man of sin and death died with Christ)
We now give ourselves to Christ to live for Him, and we are no longer the victims of the ‘flesh’ which satan used to hold us captive. We are new and have the aid of mighty God to fight the temptations of the enemy and put them down. Christ rules in our hearts. We are the champions!
Galatians 2:20 (AMP)
I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
The battle rages in the heavenly ring. It is brought into our minds by lies and deceits by the enemy, who seeks our defeat; however, now so long as we've opened our hearts to have God Himself live inside us, we cannot be defeated by the enemy! We remain champions!
