Standing on this cliff above the ocean as a storm rolls in. First, I see the sky darken as black roiling clouds approach, and the wind begins tearing at the trees, and it ripping at my hair and clothes. A bolt of light breaks the darkness and thunder crashes as the atmosphere slams back together again. Huge drops of rain soak me in seconds. Regal ocean becomes huge waves slamming against the cliff reaching up to grab me. Again lighting bolts crack the darkness and thunder explodes in surround sound. I exult in the power of my God!
I give glory to the Father in this magnificent experience! The devil cannot create at all; he could try and use this power of God to bring fear, but knowing my God, I can only give Him praise for His wonderful might! If he intends for it to grab my life away, so be it. To be with Him in eternity is a joy. What is there to fear? Oh death where is thy sting? Jesus defeated death for us.
1 Corinthians 15:55 (NKJV) “O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?
We fear the Lord. But if we know and love Him and He lives in us, we are not afraid of Him. Webster’s dictionary also gives another definition of ‘fear’ as “reverential awe”.
Standing in that fierce storm, the surging seas, the blasting winds, electric streaks of lightning, the booming roar of thunder, the torrential rains, ebullient joy fills me! Arms raised I sing praises to my God in reverential awe!
Aspects of our God can be found in His creation; every artist puts something of himself in his paintings, sculptures, carvings, etc. We are God’s creations, and we are made in His image and likeness. The closer we get to Him the more that likeness is revealed.
As a child develops the characteristics of its parents, so does God-likeness evolve in His children. We are transformed as we seek His face actively, as we drink in His Word, and meet daily with Him, speaking with Him, waiting for His responses allowing Him do some talking too. :)) We rejoice as we grow in Him!
1 Chronicles 16:30-32 (AMP)
Tremble and reverently fear before Him,
all the earth’s peoples;
the world also shall be established, so it cannot be moved.
31 Let the heavens be glad and let the earth rejoice;
and let men say among the nations,
The Lord reigns!
32 Let the sea roar, and all the things that fill it;
let the fields rejoice, and all that is in them.
