Jesus, when we walked the streets of the destitute, the children “knew” You. But the adults it seemed . . . life had sucked love out of them, greed had eaten hope away, their destitution was not physical but spiritual. The street was not located in some third world country, it was all over the world. You look into the hearts of all men and see who their inner self is. Your enemy is working hard to capture them completely; like a shroud, he sheds his darkness everywhere.
You, Jesus, are the “Light of the World”. You bring hope. You overflow with love. You, Lord, hold the answer to all their impoverishment, if they but choose to believe. Jesus, Your Father wants all His kids to live with Him in eternity. You love so much You endured atrocious suffering and death for us, that we might inherit life and life everlasting. Your heart mourns for those who refuse Your gift of freedom from satan’s clutches. I see the sadness in Your eyes.
Those hopeless ones lying in filth and degradation Jesus, can they still be saved? “If My light pierces the darkness of their minds, they can still choose life.” Jesus, You have given me the skill of writing, and you have put on my heart the desire to help in salvation work. I submit my life to You. Show me the way. I keep seeing that small child
with hope in her uplifted hands and eyes. When I held her in my arms, as Your love flowed to her through me, she felt contentment and placed her head on my shoulder. Jesus, Help me be a lifter of mankind in what ever small way i am able.
Do you ever feel the desire to be an instrument in God’s salvation plan?
