The other morning a beautiful song sang through my earphones. . . Love the Lord your God with your whole heart and mind and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself. These are the two great commandments.
It reminded me that loving God is a two way street. God first loved us; He loved us enough (when we were yet prisoners of sin) to send Jesus who paid our sin debt, rescued us from satan's jail.
I realized these are not just words, but I can become God's child with His nature, His DNA. He's my Dad and cherishes me. He urges me to choose Jesus’ gift, knowing I'll then live a good life here on earth and in eternity. His tremendous love flows openly to me and through me. It’s a two way street; His is a powerful love river.
This morning I'm so feeling God's love! I want everyone to 'know that they know' how much God loves them. As I open my heart to Him, peace fills. His joy delights. For years now I have an appointment to meet with Him early each morning, and our relationship is enriched each day; I have His aid throughout the day; I've found on more than one occasion that trying to "do it” on my own does not always work out so well, but with Him there's no worries.
Have you found this in your situations and problems? Do they threaten or steal your peace? I’m finally getting smart :) One thing I discovered: when I am in close relationship with the Lord, I can deliver anything disquieting over to Him, trusting He will take care of it. And He does. One of my favorite. . .
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Building a genuine deep-rooted connection with God, a love overflowing friendship, a Father-child caring gentleness and yearning in the heart for each others' company ~ what is built is a huge assurance that my inner life will fill with confidence and strength. There is no stronger bond than love! No super glue can hold tighter than the supernatural love of God for us. Open hearts trust in Him and His Word and are immensely rewarded.
Is your relationship with God superglued?
