Dear Lord bless this day. It seems like our walk in the garden this morning will be foggy and chilly. There is a shroud of fog hanging, changing the atmosphere of our garden today Jesus. He speaks,“Let’s sit on this rock for a moment. Look. What do you see?” It’s a different kind of beauty Lord. Mysterious. ”And you like that, yes?" Yes Lord; I like a little mystery. Jesus stands, “Let’s take a walk.” I follow.
Small rocks embedded in the dirt of the path are easy to trip over in the white mist. But if I look down and stare at the path I can see them, and avoid them. But then I see nothing else of the beauty of the fog weaving its way throughout the trees and bushes and boulders. “Jesus", I call, "I want to enjoy the garden in the fog, but when I look up, I trip on these rocks and roots.”
“Focus on me”, He responds, "and see the garden through my eyes.” As I raise my eyes to Him, I notice we are not alone. There are other shadows stumbling through the fog.
Isaiah 57:14 (MSG)
Someone says: “Build, build! Make a road!
Clear the way, remove the rocks
from the road my people will travel.”
AMP Isaiah 57:15
15 For thus says the high and lofty One—
He Who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy:
I dwell in the high and holy place,
but with him also who is
of a thoroughly penitent and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble
and to revive the heart of the thoroughly penitent
[bruised with sorrow for sin].
“Jesus? When I focus on You, I see others here too.” My eyes are off of my problems, myself, so more people become visible. I'm also walking without stumbling, like there're no more embedded dangers to trip me up.
“Jesus, I am sorry that I have been so self-centered to want my time with You, not sharing, focused on my problems, uncaring about the stumbling of others. Jesus I am ashamed at my selfishness. Open my heart to the plight of others. Help me to see; and Holy Spirit, please work through me to be Jesus to others. Plant Your words in my mouth."
When are others invisible to you?
