Snake Holes

The three little pigs curled up in a corner for fear of the big bad wolf as he came to blow their house down. Last night I could really identify with them. That ole wind howled and screeched and rattled the windows! I swear the house even shook! Creaks sounded; things went thump in the night. Oh it was fun indeed, but very little sleep!

How thankful I am for a solid house in which to live! I do like wind, but would not want to be out in those gales (that are still puffing). The thought also came that the ferocity of those sounds trying to terrorize the night could be like that hungry lion out there seeking whom he might devour. The evil one sounding in the physical world like a wind seeking to tear apart hearts for his pleasure. But there’s no fear here as my inner house is founded securely on the Rock of Jesus. The enemy can blow as much as he wants, but my house stands.

This security, this strength is what we must build up in our children. We had 4 kid suicides last week in our town. What does this tell you? The enemy is knocking down our kids one by one. He slithers into their minds telling them lies like ‘just die and get rid of the hurt and pain. No one cares anyway. Just commit suicide then they’ll be sorry.’

Our children no longer have the assurance that they are made by a God who loves them dearly, who will help them when they are hurting. When God is removed from the equation of life, a void is left. Its like a snake hole that gives entrance to the enemy’s deceptions and lies. Their inner houses are tumbling down.

Life is so busy for everyone today and time sweeps by, but it is a critical time for parents to build communication with their children and their friends if possible. Speak godly truths into them! Schools and society today are doing all they can to remove God period. It’s creating a toxic society for children and their parents. Broken families are on the increase. Our society is getting sicker.

My friends, let’s find ways to counteract the enemy’s influence. Prayer is a powerful tool! Please join with me in prayer for our children and our families.

Father God, You are almighty and nothing is beyond You. Your Word says if we call upon You, You will hear our prayers.
2 Chronicles 20:9-10 (NIV)
9 ‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’

1 John 5:13-15 (NLV)
I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God. Now you can know you have life that lasts forever. 14 We are sure that if we ask anything that He wants us to have, He will hear us. 15 If we are sure He hears us when we ask, we can be sure He will give us what we ask for.

Hear us O Lord! We know You love Your kids. We ask You to save our children from the wiles of the enemy! Invade the hearts of the  parents with Your love! You have a plan, Lord! Show us our part in it!
