"Our amazing God has given each of us a destiny, a calling. He has also provided everything we need to fulfill it!" When I heard this statement, it caused me to meditate on that ‘everything’, because I knew I did not have every talent, finance, and influence I required to fulfill my dream, and I did not see where it could come from. Notice the focus here is on “I”, as though it was up to me alone. What has hidden the truth from me? Ha! Of course, the enemy has used its tricks to deceive and draw focus away from truth!
I was reading the book written by John Bevere and his son Addison: The Holy Spirit, and it leads to a richer understanding of Who Holy Spirit is and why God tells us we have everything we need.
One chapter near the beginning speaks about John 14:16 where Jesus promises to send a ‘Helper’. This chapter opens a window of new clarity regarding this word in the Greek = Parakletos, a compound word in Greek: para and kaleo. Para means ‘very close’ as is found in a long lasting loving husband and wife relationship.
Then kaleo means to ‘beckon or to call’. This is used in Scripture more as a ‘calling’ implying destiny and action. Putting these two together we can see better what Jesus was saying: Holy Spirit is permanently called closely alongside each of us to provide coaching, direction, instruction, and counsel in our life journey.
Having Holy Spirit live within us is like walking with Jesus in all His authority and mastery; but what is your perception of Holy Spirit? How we perceive Him is critically important~ He's not like a mist in the air, He is a Deity Who must be approached with reverence and honor. He is formidable in power and all knowing! Yet Holy Spirit also embraces us tenderly in deep love valuing you and I highly. He is Jesus' gift to us, our Helper Who actually dwells within us! Hello!!! Meditate on that one!! This all powerful Holy Spirit is eagerly waiting for us to speak to Him! He is here to be our loving Life-Coach ~ direct, help, teach, guide. Who could be better as a coach than God Himself!?
How sad it is that many do not recognize, call upon, or even speak of this Holy Spirit Whom Jesus sent to reside in us permanently! How many of us ignore Him? What power is missing from our lives, because we do not invite Holy Spirit to be a part of everything we do?
