Peace in Times of Turmoil

Peace. Do you ever long for peace in this world where everything is turning upside down, where good is called wrong and evil is called good? Seems I heard in the Word that there would come days like these.

Isaiah 5:20-23 (AMP)
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent and shrewd in their own sight! 22 Woe to those who are mighty heroes at drinking wine and men of strength
in mixing alcoholic drinks!—
23 Who justify and acquit the guilty for a bribe, but take away the rights of the innocent and righteous from them!

How do we handle all this? Where is our directional guide on righteous living, in knowing what is true? There is one Instruction Manual written for us by God through His anointed sons to be a guide for righteous and joyful living and it is called the Bible. Here are a few examples from one of the Books of the Bible; its a letter written by Apostle Paul to the Ephesians. I’ve taken some verses, but I suggest reading the whole of Chapter 5:
Ephesians 5:1 [NLT]
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. 2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
3 Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people...
6 Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins,
for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him
10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.
11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,
14 for the light makes everything visible.
This is why it is said,
“Awake, O sleeper,
rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”

15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity
in these evil days.

This is only a small reading from the Instruction Manual, yet it is filled with guidance on living well. So if we want to know how to handle the crazy mixed up society we dwell in today, we can study the manual, follow its directions, and live by its counsel. This will bring enlightenment and lead to a life of triumph!

In what area do you need a guide for living with joy?
