Matthew 18:5-7 (NLT)
5 “And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me. 6 But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.
7 “What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting.
Children, precious children! Who can look at a newborn infant and not feel tenderness and love? Who can watch a toddler learning to walk with that sense of achievement in their eyes an not smile? Who can watch a 10 year old play with laughter in their hearts and not feel a quiet happiness inside? These are reflections from God’s heart nesting in ours.
But our enemy, satan, is black-hearted and evil and wants destruction of the innocent and when he controls a heart it is seen in the eyes of those who seek to do evil to children. Sometimes they do outright evil, others work lies to burrow into the hearts of our kids ~ lies like voracious worms of disease and infection of the heart. These who teach kids wrong and evil ways and ideas must beware of God’s admonition above in verse 6. There are those in our education system today following these wicked ways. Beware.
Good ~ the immense goodness of God!
Evil ~ the terrifying death, destruction, the ruination, blighting, disfigurement in satan’s plans. These are the choices we have. These two, there is no gray, its black and white. It’s darkness verses light. We choose God’s ways or satan’s ways.
The life of those who choose darkness and evil will be destroyed and their end is hell for all eternity; satan hates God and he hates us. Who really wants to serve a demon?
The other choice is to choose
the light and truth. God loves us dearly; He created us to
live a life of joy and victory with Him. He will personally help us to fulfill the purpose of our life which brings satisfaction, joy and love. Father God cherishes you and me and will draw us into a wondrous relationship with Him. Like Kathy here who recently went home to be with Jesus. Her joy always showed on her face. We too can choose to have an eternity of peace, joy, achievement, satisfaction and love beyond our wildest dreams!
The choice is up to us. Do we have the courage to go against "political correctness"? Do we love our kids enough to choose to teach them truth and righteousness? If you do not know God, are you willing to seek Him?
