The Eagle

High in the sky an eagle soars, his movements purposeful and precise. Without warning wings folded, it dives swiftly earthward until its extended claws grab its prey. Dinner is served.

Lord, You designed the eagle, its warrior face and strength indicating its character. The eagle flies alone or with a mate, never in flocks. You put the eagle character in people too. Isaiah 40:31 compares those that wait upon You to eagles. . .

Isaiah 40:31(AMP)
31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

They who trust in You Father for life and every situation in life will receive the needed power to be conquerors. For as we hope in You and look for Your help, in that trusting and searching, we will change and as we do, You renew the force of our strength.

The majestic bird lifts itself with sturdy wings to the sun warmed cliffs. Here an older bird will pluck out all its feathers, so new fresh ones can grow in, and it becomes young again in power.

We can mount up ~ grow closer to God ~ and when we trust in You, seek You with all our hearts, You expose our weak and damaged feathers, so we can pluck them all out, which then renews our character, our will power, our understanding, and thus our strength and ability to fight the enemy in every life situation. You become the wind beneath our wings to lift us higher, more deeply embedded in You, the source of authority and wisdom.
Message Bible version:

Isaiah 40:27-31 (MSG)
Why would you ever complain, O Jacob,
or, whine, Israel, saying,“God has lost track of me.
He doesn’t care what happens to me”?

Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening?
God doesn’t come and go. God lasts.
He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.
He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.
And he knows everything, inside and out.
[everything about me too]

He energizes those who get tired,
gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don’t get tired,
they walk and don’t lag behind.

How blessed am I to have You, God, the God Creator of the universe, for a loving Father. You make all things possible, Lord!

Isaiah says, “31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; Lord, I want to change; help me keep charged up and a formidable foe against the enemy. Convict me so I have the courage to pluck out the weak places of compromise and fear from my character, then refresh me with Your indomitable power.

Do you ever feel like waves upon a beach? You know you surge in with full confidence, then the enemy pulls you back out to sea? It’s discouraging. Does it  happen to you too? What gets you discouraged?
