It’s about submission. Ahhh! Such rebellion enters the soul at that word. Pride woven into the roots of the flesh stands up and howls! ‘I am great and smart and I submit to no one!’ Oh yes, it is a battle, a battle that must be fought and conquered! From Adam’s sin on, within each of us dwells the tincture of evil, and it must be cleansed for us to grow into who we were created to be. Rebellion lifts its ugly snout to roar in defiance.
Yet also within, the love of our Creator woos us to come and find Him, for He promises a fulfillment that exists nowhere else. A place within each of us houses a spirit that recognizes the call of our God. Eyes within open, ears within begin to hear new things. A hunger for ‘something else, something more’ begins to gnaw at our conscious mind. Pursuing it brings about a paradigm shift, a deeper understanding of life beneath the surface. A planted seed breaks open and begins to seek the light.
Sun rises beginning a new day in the spirit. A heart earnestly seeks truth and finds the treasure of a relationship with the Almighty. Submitting to God’s Word, it recognizes its sinfulness, repents, and asks for Jesus to come live within and redeem it. Joy builds like a pot beginning to boil and overflow.
New life commences ~ as a child born into the world ~ and as a child, the new spirit life within needs nurturing and teaching. Relationship flourishes with contact, so spending time in God's Presence, speaking together each day, waters the spirit and the soul bringing forth blossoms in rich fragrance and loveliness.
As the inner man feasts on the Word, new strength forms with revelation of truth and richer understanding of the enormity of God’s love for us. Heart construction built on righteousness forms a highway headed to God and a phenomenal eternity, carrying us through cities and towns of challenge and instruction, of strengthening and growth that fleshes us out to look more like Jesus each day.
And thus is launched the construction of a new highway conducting us from our heart to eternity in God’s heart.
