We encounter many opportunities and choices in life. Often we feel we can direct our own life and do alright. Well, that is, until the earthquake shakes or the
[Pray for 2013 flood victims in Colorado] flooding currents attempt to sweep us and things/people we hold dear away. Suddenly we are no longer 'in control' What options are open to us then?
Option 1: Go to the One who has control. If we earlier made a commitment to make Jesus the Lord of our life, and have neglected it, we can choose to restore that relationship and seek supernatural help.
Option 2: If we have never claimed His gift of salvation and His Lordship, we can seek Him, admit we are sinners and ask for forgiveness; speaking truthfully within, we can earnestly ask Him to come into our heart and be Lord over our life.
These two choices will result in a new light shining a path to help fix or escape our plight. Trusting in Jesus will not just attain eternity for us, but provides divine wisdom and power to work in any situation. Trusting in God relieves stress and worry allowing a more peaceful attitude when facing big challenges.
One event that is most difficult is losing a loved one. Death and grieving tears at the heart crushing the emotions. It is a new playground for the enemy; he’ll take every opportunity to shoot negative arrows into the mind. Separation is a favorite tool as he plants “nobody really cares about you”, “you will never make it financially, you’ll run out of money” “God took your loved one, so He doesn't care about you”, “you're not going to make it”. Yes, our enemy delights in shooting poison darts into our minds. We can avoid a death blow by shielding our self with the Word.
Only the Word can counteract the enemy’s toxic arrows of negativity. These are some of my favorites!
Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
Deuteronomy 31:8 (AMP)[Moses encouraged his people]: It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit—depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm].
Hebrews 13:5(AMP) . . .for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]
Our God is always faithful to His Word! Trust in Him!
