Repeated Tragedies

Hurt! Pain! Loss! They are marauders come to attack our people. So much tragedy continues. Explosions murdering and maiming innocent victims. It will not stop. Why do I say that? The answer can be found in the Old Testament. The Israelites were God’s people. When they honored Him, obeyed Him, worshipped Him as their God, He gave them power to overcome enemies much greater and stronger than themselves. So long as they trusted God, they were victorious. But when they turned away from Him and began following and worshipping false gods, they were overwhelmed and made slaves by their enemies. God was no longer with them to empower and protect them.
Take a look at us today. We were founded on God’s Word, worshipping Him and honoring Him. Universities demanded students know the Bible before they could enroll. Oh yeah! We became a strong nation, a God-fearing nation! Compare that to us now. Our president says we are not a Christian nation and is moving everything he can to cause that to become reality.

We sleep not recognizing our own destruction. Divorce rates climbing the family is being scuttled; abortion~55 million babies sacrificed to the god of convenience like Baal of the Old Testament. Outright sin like homosexuality being raised up as just another variety of life style, couples living together without being blessed by marriage, fornication considered ok. Our core values that made us great are being corrupted and made subject to and judged by political correctness.

Yes, death and violence are the devil’s tools, and he is being given free reign in this country today. Those who want to rule the world know they must rid themselves of God and morality first. They are succeeding.

So where does that leave us? Helpless? Hopeless? NO! For we serve a God of power and might, and if we call upon Him to help us return this country to its former Godliness, He will respond. Let us gather together the true Jesus loving, God fearing Christians we know and group together to pray! Look what God promises in His Word:
2 Chronicles 7:14-15 (AMP)
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin,
and heal their land.
15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.

We must return to the ways of God, humble ourselves before Him, and pray for His mercy and help. Prayer is the answer. Prayer releases divine power. See this quote from Billye Brim:
Prayer is such a vital ministry in this hour. In every case the Lord endeavors to get someone to work with Him. As John Wesley said, “It seems the Lord can do nothing on the earth, unless someone asks Him.”

I know that in every tragedy I’ve named herein and in the multitude of large and small attacks upon mankind, the Lord moves upon His own to pray. And I know that He warns, protects, as far as man’s faith and obedience allows. . .
Praying is necessary for God's power to work in the earth.
