Wars and rumors of war. What is happening in the middle east, and south east Asia? Have you noticed ‘mother nature’ no longer benign but more cantankerous these past few years? Storms, flooding, destructive fires, drought, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes. . . Many agree that we are living in the end times now, the end of the age. ‘How time flies!’ Have you noticed that time has sped up? Keep eyes open and 'see'.
The enemy, evil incarnate, has gathered his forces and is working diligently to spread evil in capturing the minds and hearts of people. Murders, kidnappings, and worse are being perpetrated against society by those satan is leading. Our government is espousing sin as good~ homosexuality, abortion. We in this country have built altars to the ancient gods like Baal where children were sacrificed to him, as we sacrifice our children through abortion. Yes, we are living in times where a battle is raging between good and evil. You and I can quietly go about our work and not care until it hits us, or we can wake up to the reality of our time.
What can “I” do? If you are saved, that is, have repented of your sins and accepted Jesus’ gift of salvation, and truly invited Him to be Lord of your life, then God has an assignment for you. He so loves all His children and desires that they all spend eternity in heaven with Him. Your mission, should you chose to accept it, is found in His Word:
2 Corinthians 5:20 (AMP)
20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors, God making His appeal
as it were through us. We [as Christ’s personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God
Personalize this saying, “I am Christ’s ambassador. As His representative I beg of you for His sake to accept His offer, His gift to you, and be reconciled to God. Repent of your sins; ask Jesus to be Lord of your life. As Christ’s ambassador I am truly begging you to turn your heart away from sin and come to God.” Watch for Holy Spirit to show you who to talk to and when.
As the Message Bible words it:
2 Corinthians 5:20 (MSG)
16-20 Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore.
17 Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons!
Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other.
18 God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. 19 God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them.
20 We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.
We can no longer just be happy that we are saved; there are so many more that need to hear the good news that they too can spend eternity in heaven. Open your heart to the Holy Spirit’s guiding and talk to friends, family, neighbors, anyone. Be courageous! Fear not!
2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLV)
20 We are Christ’s missionaries. God is speaking to you through us. We are speaking for Christ and we ask you from our hearts to turn from your sins and come to God.
