Life can assault us leaving painful bruises. This past year has been an example of evil running amok through lives. Loved ones murdered, children kidnapped, killing diseases attacking children~infant through adult, mental health attacks, addictions. . . the list is long. Each brings pain to those who love the victims, while the enemy grins in satisfaction. There is a mighty battle going on right now, and it is seen and unseen.
We know from Scripture [Daniel10:11-13] that there is warfare in the spiritual realm between good and evil, and this is reflected in the physical world. But we don’t like to think of that unless we are directly affected. If we face truth, we will discover we are in a battle too. Open ears to listen and heart to feel, and one can sense the pain and almost hear the mourning cries. My heart is breaking at the agonizing suffering of so many. Yet, it is not the suffering of martyrs, but of the lost.
So many are going through such turmoil and desolation today, because they have nowhere to go with their hurt and distress, no place to get comfort for their tortured hearts of grief, for their loss, and the enemy leads them into despair and bitterness. You meet them in the streets or as acquaintances, or friends, and their silent suffering emerges only through their eyes. Yes, my heart breaks for them, because there is an answer. There is one who brings comfort and strength for those in distress and torment.
Phil. 4:13 Amp."I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]."
A commentary on Philippians 4:13 taken from The Revival Study Bible:
"The revival of strength releases confident faith so that a trusting believer realizes the spiritual potential God has made available
to those who love Him. This realization increases with the revelation that the same Spirit that raised up Christ from the dead
dwells in the Christian. . . .
Once we have invited Jesus to be Lord of our lives, a paradigm shift occurs. Our eyes open to a whole new potential in life. We ‘see’ from a new perspective, and the vision explodes in multilevel probabilities and promises. Hope is reborn. This world and all the schemes of the evil one cannot begin to compare to the power, goodness and love of our heavenly Father, of Jesus His Son who died to give us the freedom of relatinship, and the Holy Spirit who comes to indwell us.
I guess I could allow the cries of the hurting world that sometimes strike my soul with their agony to just fade away, but my spirit cannot. Prayer is a powerful sword against the evil one’s assaults. Join with me as a prayer warrior for the lost of this world to come to know the One who loves them so much, that He holds the answer if they answer His call to come. And lift your eyes to the One who is above every situation and can bring healing and comfort.
