Praise Your name O Lord! You are great and wonderful! Snow is so beautiful as it falls in lovely flakes to cover the ground and all things around. I stand looking up and grin at the remarkable sight. So tempted am I to open my mouth and catch one snowflake on my tongue. The kid in me loves days like this! I so appreciate Your miracles Lord!
Sometimes the wind catches the snowflakes and whips them around in swirls of delight. I remember a poem memorized as a small child ~ ‘Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I, but when the leaves are whispering, the wind is passing by.’ Well, the wind can’t hide in a snowstorm! Whether it’s whirling or speeding horizontally, the wind is exposed. View the wind from behind a glass, and enjoy it’s frolicking ways. Though I must admit, that kid in me is crying to go outside and play in it. So many joys all around, if we open our eyes and observe.
The moisture lifts our hearts in thanksgiving! This semi arid area has been more then semi dry this year. Can almost see the earth opening its pores eagerly drinking in the wetness. A good snowstorm piles upon the ground, and then it seeps down to the roots replenishing life as it melts.
Thank You Lord for this amazing gift! Delivering life-giving moisture in such beauty is so like Who You are. . . Just look at what You have done: You have provided Yourself in the life-giving Word. Jesus, my heart overflows with gratitude for all You have done for us, for the eternity of joy You died to give to us. What an astounding God we serve! Have you recently taken time recently to absorb His goodness?
